Ronald sits in a cave after having heard the news, dismayed at his failure to protect the King. He stares at his sword and axe, knowing not what to do with himself, unable to meditate. "I've failed my King, and through this failure..." He sighs, a tear in his eye and he continues to sit, unknowing of what to do.

So meditation is in fact, a viable connection means to the void? (my character meditates whenever I get the chance to have him just sit)

First connection, as if you already made a void connection, you wouldn't need to make one again, I would assume.

How long would it take for one to connect to the void (in real time)? I IRP (and OOC) talked to the only evocationist I found (although he was an Earth Evocationist) and he said only a few IRL days, but I would like better clarification.

As a young child, he had to deal with the constant echoes of the maimed and the sounds of the dying. The water of the town ran red with the blood of those dead, to the point where the water that he would drink daily was almost too thick to drink. He had to learn to defend himself at an early age, becoming proficient with the blade like all others of the Northerner’s.
