To the south, our freed blood-compatriots renew their efforts towards the ideals of peaceful governance and Confucian rule. With their efforts has come the opportunity for interaction between our company and their yards, and it is with great pleasure that I recognize this new partnership as the origins of OOCL's [OOCL] booming stock this past year. I am also glad to announce that we have officially passed the 1.5 million employee marker, over 15 times the size of our original corporate relocation team. In news on external factors, head company analysts believe the invasive species will not pose a major problem to future company growth, though expansion will be an issue to be returned to in the future. In late July, Four Tigers voting shareholder Peter Kwang passed away in his sleep at the age of 74. He now rests with his ancestors, and he has been succeeded by his son and former CEO of Wilmar International [WI], James Kwang. While there was controversy over the takeover of Wilmar International from the Cheng inheritors five years ago, we are confident that James has found a competent replacement for him in Mr. Jonathan Kwang. Jonathan has had major success as CFO of Penghu Group [PNG], and we look forward to his expansive plans towards our strongest agribusiness subsidiary. Finally, I am eager to announce the completion of additional trading platforms for the numerous governments across the galaxy, funded in large part by Evergreen [EG], Foxconn [FCN], Peninsular Hotel Groups [PNSL], and AsusTek [ASUS] among other minority holders. I look forward to and thank you for your continued investment in and patronage of Four Tigers Holdings. 生意兴隆. -Chairman Hua Ten-Shi ----- As he slammed his desk in frustration, the boardroom grew silent. Timothy Moh, CEO of APL (notably named American Presidential Lines despite being Singaporean), glared at his C-level subordinates. They all dressed impeccably, in trending half-casual suits and expensive jewelry. In APL, such clothing was essentially a rule - personality had always been important to the companies that had once hailed from the furthest-south of the Four Tigers, and it had backfired. When they landed on Xingzhou, the Singaporeans had fractured. Compared to the chaebols and clan benevolent associations and syndications of their rivals, Timothy had relied on APL’s individual cash flows to compete. Now, he was feeling the burn. “Was it Chen? Why hasn't that hútú dàn died yet!” he roared, turning to the subordinate to his left. His faithful COO, Gilbert Guo. The most unfortunately named of APL’s executives (also, unfortunately, not related to the CEO of Cathay Intergalactic, Guo Cao-Mei), and the only one in boardroom formal, hurriedly scrolled through a datapad. “It was Chairman Hua, sir.” Another few entries in Unified Chinese Script later, and one of the walls flickered to life as the face of an elderly man with thinning hair and wearing a white suit appeared. This was the familiar visage of Hua Ten-Hsi, Chairman of Four Tigers Holdings, and, in technicality, Timothy’s boss. “-r its completion. The longer we wait, the lower our production, the more we must import. Wh-” The screen clicked off, and, for a while, Timothy simply glared out the window of the room. "...Call DBS." ----- Actions [69 AP]: [15 AP] - The shipyard’s upgrade is completed. Hua Ten-Hsi himself comes to cut the ribbon on the expansion, noting their ability to build more freighters than ever before. Almost as if on cue, the major shipping subsidiaries enter into a bidding war to claim purchasing rights for the next year. [20 AP] - Extra levels of trading ports are added to the Grand T’ai Trade Center and Imperial Trading House respectively. Now, they turn to human customers to fill the slots. Strangely enough, most of those nations seem to be the ones that had previously traded with the now-defunct nation-state of Malta. [11 AP] - Another 100m SLH Yuan enters Western Authority coffers, and a black card is once again filled. OOCL eagerly awaits its goods. By OOCL, we of course mean CEO and model Brittney Gong. [18 AP] - Evergreen orders yet more CI400c’s, and Cathay Intergalactic another CI2000p. The divides in cargo operations has begun to stabilize. [2 AP] - After weeks of frantic wheeling and dealing, APL scrounges the funds to build another CI100c. After the previous year’s construction, it had thought its position safe. Now, it found itself with the lowest capitalization of the 3 Commerces and a loan from the Development Bank of Singapore. [3 AP] - Four Tigers begins researching advanced facial/body reconstruction technologies. Where there is money, there is vanity, and money has begun to flow in greater and greater quantities through Xingzhou.

The Gray Coast Governor Aurellius Laurentian Tentallicon Claudia Borian had never seen such splendor as her first journey from the Gray Coast, from more than half a league out of Roin Cress. She had heard her matchmaking with the Governor of the Gray Coast would be a thing of great sadness for her family. After all, the rumors about his temperament reached even the minor families. A scandal of great proportions had foundered its way onto the great family's lap, and she was the rice-glue used to fix it. Her family, a small merchant-house in a place where no ships passed and no convoys but the Tentallicons' needed visit, had jumped at the opportunity to marry into a family of influence, even if they were assured to have no grandchildren. So she was dressed up in their finest gray court robes, and shipped to the capital. Brought to the foundry quarter, where the snickering of the passers-by was just slightly quieter than in the Temple Street or Harbor Districts. Brought to a large, exquisite villa, disproportionate with the surrounding buildings, the sigil of the Tentallicons proudly hung above its porticos, gardens kept trim, guards lining the lookouts and servants bustling about. One almost wouldn't believe that this was the property of a man so fallen from grace. A thin scholar, thinner than he was two years' past, ushered her in. In the outer rooms, the vestibules and sitting areas, lounged officers, either retired in old age or recruited from the border provinces years ago, desperate to escape death, and for each officer, for each sitting room, the number of escorts seemed double or triple. His family had not only allowed his debauchery, they approved, thinking it would counter the rumors. Instead, Aurellius had become the talk of the capital, leaving even many outer family members wary. The inner courtyard of the villa, past the gardens and venues, was the personal quarters of Aurellius. Save the bubbling fountain in the center, it was completely silent, unfurnished. As if it had never been touched, never seen. Led through the doors at the other end, she stepped into the chambers to meet the man behind the myth. [13 AP] - The second set of farms is completed [20/20 total] [11 AP] - The Capital already knows of this expenditure. [] - Claudia never meets with men other than Aurellius after arriving at the capital (to stifle rumors), and some months later, she becomes pregnant with his child. End-of-Year Influence - 5

The Gray Coast Governor Aurellius Laurentian Tentallicon Dearest Mother-in-law, I am worried for Aurellius. His days are spent with his many soldier-advisors, and his policies are slowly becoming more and more militaristic. I fear that without a wife, he will begin to spiral the Gray Coast into a martial state. Dear Silia, My son would be a top bachelor, if only he was not Governor of the Gray Coast. Perhaps, should we save our influence with the Empire, we shall soon find him a suitable bride. [15 AP] - The Grade 1 Military Foundries at Cinereo are completed. [T1 20/20] [7 AP] - The farmlands of the Gray Coast are expanded upon [7/20 for Stack 2] [1 Influence] - Pledged to the Treasurer, only for use on a project approved by Aurellius. [0 AP] - The Legates at the Gray Coast are asked of the possibility of launching an invasion of the Korvic-held islands to the North, with the assistance of one of the fleets. Their families in the capital will gain influence, they will be given vast estates if it comes under Gray Coast control, and there'll be no more need to watch out for Korvic sea-raids, making their jobs thereafter easier.

The Gray Coast Governor Aurellius Laurentian Tentallicon "The mine at Allicon has stopped sending shipments, Proconsul." "A revolt?" "Possibly, sir." Aurellius sighed, tapping the hilt of his forearm-blade. His court at Cinereo, if it could be called that, was nothing if not military. Around him stood various ex-centurions and praefects of low ability or lower birth, following him from his time in the Third Legion. The villa, its interior pillar decorations gilt not in gold but in iron, stood tall among the buildings around it, though easily shorter than the neighboring stone fort that quartered the Third Legion. "Send word to the Legatus Secundus of Legio III at Roin Nie, ask him for his assistance in recovering it. Perhaps ask him to send patrols that way once in a while, make sure the Venandii are not moving into our territory." For a moment, he pauses. "Add that we know of the shortages in supply the legions so often face, and that we will help with the payment in Imperials." Looking about the room, one could see the lack of variety in the many men, and few women, of the group. All well-muscled, with the same Caesarian haircut, with the same blade at their hips. Should I ask my mother for some advisors? he thinks to himself, briefly, before looking to one in his middle age and nodding inwardly. "We will rally a cohort of Exspiravits, to be called Cohors I 'Cineres'. Publius Lupus shall be Centurion Primus of said unit." The middle-aged man, oldest among the assembled group, with graying hair and wrinkles at the edges of his eyes, grins. Though he retired a decade ago, his skill in commanding was likely the greatest among the assembly. "It will defend the mine and any shipments coming in and out of said mine on its way to Cinereo." "And, sir, of the housing for said cohort?" asks a scribe in his late teens, the only of his kind in the building. Obviously cognizant of the necessity, and obviously cognizant of the lack of others that might point out such a problem. "Ah," Aurellius mutters. "Good idea, Flavius." As Aurellius ponders the question, Flavius looks on exasperatedly. Good idea? "We will have them reside in that large village near the mine at Allicon. What was it called?" "Allicon, Aurellius." This time, the speaker is a woman in her thirties. Silia Asina, wife of his deceased older brother, took charge of much of the Gray Coast's day-to-day. It was she that first heard of the mine's abnormality. "Ah...right. Anyways, I will be raising two more cohorts as well. Antius Proclus and Maximus Barrius, step up." Two more courtiers stand, saluting him. Both served as optio in Legio III, the second-in-command after the centurions. They had left thinking Aurellius would raise his own legion when he had the chance, and their guess was correct. "Cohors II 'Niennes' and Cohors III 'Cressian' will be under your commands as Centuriae. Cohors II will guard the mine and mining shipments at Vedinum, and Cohors III will guard shipments sent to and received from Annor's Highway. Dismissed!" They, too, run out of the hall, obviously eager to recruit for their first centurion positions. "I would also like to relieve slightly the strain of sending iron convoys to Annor's Crossroads, by building our own foundries. Is it in the budget?" As she nods, he smiles and claps. "Fantastic. Is there any way we can add some scouting for new mining sites and a good forest to it as well?" "..." "Last thing, Silia. Please send word to the Governors of Annor's Crossroads guaranteeing that their yearly iron shipment will come right on time, probably. Court dismissed!" ----- AP | Base: [10 AP] Mine 1, T2: [4 AP] Mine 2, T2: [REACTIVATED, 4 AP] Farmlands, 25 Invested: (1 Stack) [2 AP] Expansion Funding: [5 AP] Total | [25 AP] New Population | 486,000 [2 AP] - The Third Legion receives some "much-needed" "logistical aid" from the Governor of the Gray Coast. [15 AP] - Three Exspiravit Cohorts, dubbed "Cohors I Ceneres", "Cohors II Niennes", and "Cohors III Cressian" are recruited from the populace, many of whom are eager to get away from the coast or the recently-raided mines. Unfortunately for them, they're often immediately redeployed to the area of said mine. Cohors III Cressian is immediately deployed to guard shipments to and from Annor's Crossroads, right after recruitment. While trained, some even wield harvest scythes until they make it to Lex Dimitis to pick up their standardized equipment. {Medium Infantry, T3 Equipment, standard experience} [5 AP] - An Imperial-Grade I military foundry begins construction in Cinerea. The already-gray landscape of the Gray Coast gets...grayer?...with the addition of the stone building. [1 AP] - The forest to the east of Roin Cress is scouted for workable timber, to be used in building a massive and beautiful fleet. Or not. Probably not. [2 AP] - The many gray hills of the Gray Coast are searched for iron deposits. There can never be too much iron, after all, and the hills are so gray they must be full of it! [0 AP] - Iron shipments are confirmed, and, well, shipped, to Annor's Crossroads. [0 AP] - Governor Aurellius' sister-in-law asks Aurellius' mother, Calavia, who in turn asks Counselor Jullius to help arrange a bride for the 24 year old bachelor. The would-be wife's family would, of course, receive a dowry, to be paid by Aurellius, but a requirement held is that she come from a prominent family of the capital city. The Tentallicons are a prideful bunch, after all, and anyone less would be insulting. [0 AP] - A letter is sent to the governor of Blightswamp, demanding the return of the Litorii miners stolen by his dirty swamp-dwelling peasants.

The rest are not even unpaved roads, more like dirt paths or dilapidated, long-unused roads. Map with stack locations demarcated Governor (Their name, and a little personal history): Governor Aurellius Laurentian Tentallicon, age 24, second son of the fourth-aunt-thrice-removed of Counselor Jullius Cantius, is perhaps best known for the great beauty of his mother and the long Tentallicon lineage, which can be traced back to one of Emperor Belarus' centurions, Lex Tentallicon. His half-brother, Cossus Tentallicon, though quite daft, was set to inherit the family manors and the seat of Governor of the Gray Coast that it has held since 920, and he was given a centurion position among the Third Legion. Through what can only be described as terrible luck, their father and Aurellius' older brother were set upon by a small farmer's rebellion and Korvic sea raid at the same time and bludgeoned to death moments before the provincially stationed Imperial legions arrived, and without any witnesses. A shocking series of events that most know was orchestrated by his mother and Counselor Cantius, this nearly impossible coincidence gave Jullius a chance to improve his dear aunt's standing to mother of a governor and improve his influence outside of the council, recalling her to Altaire to live a life of excess on the many Tentallicon riches that never reached Aurellius' hands. Aurellius has been in control for four years, and his greatest treasure is a preserved steel forearm-length sword, bought off a Crossroads merchant for four carts of iron. Yes, he was ripped off. No, he doesn't know. Your Provincial Culture: The Litorii, Coastmen, are well-known for the hardiness and rugged nature of their men and the hardiness and rugged nature of their women. Cinereo, the capital of the Gray Coast, is little more than a warehouse-city, built near the Third Legion's stone fortress to more easily protect itself. Nestled deep in the Mola Mountains, it is said there is an iron storage for every man and a wheat for every five. Rough iron and unrefined wheat do not make a province rich, however, and the Litorii are a prime example of what an Altairean official might call "provincial lifestyle". The fashion style of the Coast hasn't changed in a hundred years - "fur style". The leathers of the livestock, the furs of whatever animal they catch in the foggy foothills of the mountain range, and the wool shirts of the working class permeate all classes here. The noblemen, all essentially because of some dabbling in the mining industry, boast of their plain iron-wrought swords they wear ornamentally, though it cannot usually be discerned that the weapons they hold are not mass-produced. Flowers essentially don't exist in the Gray Coast, so it has of course become a trend among the ten or so total noblewomen in the entirety of the province to wear a single daisy behind one ear. That's quite daring, here. Like Cinereo, all major towns are built under the protective gaze of the Legion fortresses and forts, defending themselves from Korvic raids by inducing the Empire to do it for them. After all, those iron taxes go somewhere, yes? Two abandoned ruins of towers overlook the dilapidated highways into the capital, a relic from when the Gray Coast was the frontier of the Empire, and Belarus' Bridge, named after Emperor Belarus (whom, if it was not previously made clear, had never crossed this bridge) protects it from an invasion by coast. Small streams are boosted by aqueducts into a drinking-water lake and a thin river feeding into the sea in the northwest of Cinereo, named Lake Belarus (Again, Belarus never visited said lake. He probably never even saw the Gray Coast). Perhaps the one and only interesting landmark of the Gray Coast, as bleak and filled with mountains as it is, is the ruins of the town of Syl. Once a small, almost-prospering town, the Korvics that inhabited the Blightswamp before Narponicus retook it had burned it to the ground. It never held riches, or ancient treasures, or anything silly like that, but it's something to talk about if an imperial bureaucrat decides to take an ill-advised tour of the province. Actually, there are about three remnants of buildings left, and it can barely be called anything. Yeah, nevermind. Not much of note here. There is a mountain, "Calavia's Peaks", named in sarcasm quite recently by the provincials for their governor's mother's famed peaks, and Aurellius did not bother to correct them. A Unique Military Unit for your Province (You should read the mechanics before you decide): Exspiravit - Dark, damp, cold. Obscured by the fog that so often permeates the Gray Coast, the Exspiravit are a fearsome division meant for fighting in the thin passes and craggy roads of their homeland. Wearing either a half-baked laminar breastplate of strips of Litorii iron on chain or a heavy leather-over-chain armor under a wool overcoat, the Exspiravit are not famously disciplined as many of other provinces, but are well known for their individual weaponry prowess. A 50/50 mixture of pikemen and sword-and-kite-shield men at arms, recruitment is picked from the very strongest of the miners and farmers, and led generally by ex-legionnaires. Their two main tactics in open field battle, and there are only really two, are a full-frontal charge and a pike square, in which the men at arms form the first row and pikemen form the second. The Exspiravit cohorts are definitively most famous for their night raids and coastal ambushes, in which they hide in the many villages that dot the landscape and ambush unwary pillagers or invasive armies looking for extra rations. Four Tigers Holdings, Lmtd. 4854YC (November 2156) Q3 General Shareholders Newsletter Letter from the Chairman's Office As we move into 4858, I am glad to announce a few key activities of our company. Rapid growth in our shipping lines since our entry into galactic markets has improved our fiscal outlook for the upcoming year, with profit ratings up an average 3.45% over last year's. Of the Tiger 25, only Wilmar has faced a drop of over 2%, with imports of exotic foods at a high for upper management families. I am also glad to say that this general increase in quality of life has improved our fertility rates, with an estimated 200k births this year, at a rate of 1.001 males to 1 female. Our management style will hence be changing to one focusing on freight growth and high-quality export-import, with a five-year plan involving low domestic product growth in order to maximize revenues in cash cow markets. 生意兴隆. -Chairman Hua Ten-Shi Letter from the Board of Directors Four Tigers Holdings has made remarkable growth in international markets and diplomatic channels as well. In comparison with other trade unions, we found that our relatively late galactic-entry has limited southern economic growth in many key luxury-class areas. To decrease the late-entrant effect on our exporters, we have negotiated our entry into the Free Economic Zone, accepting the obligations of confederation for the sake of improved trade opportunities. By utilizing pre-existing trade routes and zones of control, we can access southern markets previously unavailable or unassailable and expect an increase of freight profit margins by as much as 100% in the coming years from such an investment. We are also pleased to announce a contract signing between us and our fellow 中國人, the Han Dominion, to the order of 1 billion yuan yearly of freighter build-order purchases for two years starting 4858, to be followed by a contract renegotiation. This will allow us to make up for our current shipyards lacking high-quantity capabilities while not detracting above expected levels from profit margins. Four Tigers Holdings, Lmtd. Four Tigers Holdings found itself in an interesting predicament when it first landed. First, there was nobody to sell electronics to, the largest industry of its subsidiaries. Second, there was nobody to ship to and from, its subsidiaries’ second major industry. Finallythere was nobody for its banks to loan to, the third largest sector of the company. In a word, it was screwed. The glittering, smoggy rock it now called home would not help the situation. While the rocky, flat planet of 星洲 (Xingzhou, or Star Island) would be a solid foundation for a supercity or twenty, and it had enough minerals to make Earth seem barren by comparison, it couldn’t realistically support a population of that scale. As it was, it couldn’t support a population of any scale. It would struggle this way for almost twenty years, gradually building settlements for its various staff, gradually forcing mergers between its smallest subsidiaries to keep running. It was here that Wilmar International shone. An agribusiness company specializing in edible oils and grains on Earth, the first order of its new CEO Cheng Qian upon transfer from Evergreen in 2137 was to spend the already-struggling company to near-bankruptcy on the hull of the colony ship, which it promptly launched into orbit to grow crops above the smog layer. This purchase jumpstarted the electronics and aerospace businesses, APL and Evergreen ordering massive, fuel-efficient freighters for grain transport contracts and Cathay Intergalactic for the travel of its businessmen. With the new orders coming in, often by needed loans (and Four Tigers Holdings’ line of credit), the banks were injected with capital flows and the company began to move to a better rhythm. It was a combination of Four Tigers Holdings being a hands-off parent corporation, the long trends downwards in quarterlies, and the already-high concentration of wealth in the group that Wilmar would be able to maintain a near-monopoly on food for years. Their product may have only been GMO-boosted, artificially flavored rice but the price of meats had skyrocketed after Penghu Group realized they had the only few hundred cows and pigs in the world, and Wilmar’s only remote competitor, 85° Bakery Cafe, was dependent on Wilmar wheat. The tea company Tradition would never have a chance to compete domestically. First contact came in 2133, when a ship was sighted at the edge of the system. At first hopeful that it was another group of Humans, then confused as to how other humans had found them so quickly (estimates had shown it would take years to develop something faster than fusion, and there was no reason to with such a small population), they made contact and found themselves faced by strange fox-people. Some more religious Taiwanese fainted. Meant to comfortably seat 2,000 passengers of any race, its route is set in the Northern galaxy, starting from the Ka’cezh homeworld, across towards the Zyrka, through Xingzhou, to the H’wong, the T’jell, and ending at the Alduu’uuranean Protectorate. [6 AP] - CI400c Freighter - Building on its small advantage in the Large Cargo Freighter industry, Evergreen orders a fourth CI400c. Its SLSE on announcement gains 1.02SLD, while APL loses .24SLD and OOCL .54SLD. [9 AP] - Quanta Computer and AsusTek research centers on Xingzhou focus on the question “What is the most cost-efficient reactor we can possibly make?”, looking into possibilities and investing their efforts into the best-looking one. Notably, they avoid using xylorite, because that is expensive and therefore not cost-efficient. [1 AP] - Four Tigers makes a concerted effort to promote their culture, food and fashion trends in the H'wong, their northern neighbor, and Zyrka, their southern neighbor, as Four Tigers quantum television broadcasting networks are expanded to include the H'wong, T'jell and Zyrka.

OOC: Username: bickando Skype: (Pm if you want.) uh Ideas and Suggestions?: update this app RP (Humans only, I apologize.): Colony Name: Four Tigers Holdings, Ltd. First Planet Type: I want this thing covered in minerals. That's all. History: (Assuming it's a bit of a custom nation.) When the apocalypse came, the PRC’s 1% loaded together onto a colony ship, for worlds unknown. Its government fled separately, with its Council for the Preservation and Proliferation of the Culture of the Republic of China. The Chinese mainland was not the only home of wealth in the Far East. Its wealth dwarfed that of the nations around it, the tiger cubs and young dragons of the Orient, but it had made itself too the enemy of their governments and companies. By revenue or by assets, the fourth through sixth ranked chaebols of Lotte, GS and SK would never be able to compete with the three top. A regrettable state of affairs, normally, but in this situation they knew they would eventually be wiped out on such a severe...slimming. So they made a deal. Taiwan was an established home of electronics shipped worldwide. That would not matter come the end of the world, and the government was far too ill-managed to support such an endeavor. Its largest companies’ CEOs found themselves in a neon-lit cafe discussing their plan, and soon, Foxconn, Asus, TSMC Evergreen and Quanta had prepared their terms. Hong Kong had myriad companies and powerful banking branches and groups, but a single city, one that had so recently had restrictions tightened further, would never be able to afford a starfaring vessel. AXA and AIA, the biggest life insurance groups in Asia, A.S. Watson, the biggest beauty retail group in the world, OOCL, HSBC Bank Hong Kong, Hang Seng, and Bank of China HK formed their own group and bought out Cathay Pacific and the Chinese branch of Airbus to form Cathay Intergalactic. That still would not be enough. It would take Singapore’s government funding, in collaboration with Wilmar International, DBS, APL and Trafigura Singapore, to collect the needed manpower, funding, and bright minds to build the ship. While the barbarians of the People's Republic stuffed their ships, those that had created economic dynasties over a hundred years prior readied a vessel themselves. In the bay of Hong Kong, behind the Peninsula Hotel, the ship that launched carried the hopes of those companies that would never rank first alone. The ship that launched carried Four Tigers Holdings, Limited. -[+]- For years, the holdings company in control did little to curb the naked ambition of its child companies. It did so little, in fact, that emissions tests by the H'wong picked up the burgeoning business-colony and gave the now-drastically reduced holdings company the basic tools to survive in the galaxy (not so much out of the goodness of its heart as the ability to use it as a money laundering intermediary point to reach other nations). Cathay Intergalactic, built great, hulking freighters for the shipping companies to move the H'wong drugs cheap electronics produced en masse, and they got to work building dozens of industrial sites and skyscrapers for illegal Zyrka tech companies corporate headquarters and cult chapters foreign enterprise branches as possible. Now it is a mini-hub of galactic cartels legitimate businesses and secret bank accounts hidden-for-privacy-purposes money in the North, though the incredibly low impact on galactic affairs has left news of it out until now. Map location: I would like to be right next to the H'wong if possible (for rp reasons), that pocket between the H'wong and Rak'nak'thax and Zyrka and that left T'jell area. Government Type: Oligarchy AP Usage (of 350): 350 - 75 = 275 [3/3 Agriculture Slots filled] 275 - 75 = 200 [3/3 Industry Slots filled] 200 - 80 = 120 [4/4 Business Slots filled] 120 - 42 = 78 [SL5] 78 - 78 = 0 [6 Large Freighters, 6 Freighters] Desired National Idea: [Tigers and Dragons] - 5% Pop growth boost on desired populations, only 1 TC per CS, regardless of government type.

The Sanctum Regnum Melitae Anno Domini MMCLV Franz pacing about the penthouse of the Rhodium House had become a common sight to his wife and child. A war in which the Coalition had just two years ago been brought to its knees had become as easy as slicing Xoballius Fruit Lo-Syrup Jell-O, and so the Admirals had asked for more ships to give the Maltese a better chance at "reorganizing" chunks of Keerim space before Keerim warfleets chose to turn around and fight the Coalition. After staring long and hard at the national budget, he approved (to the horror of his wife Afaya, whose homeland had voted against the war just two days prior). Another large order on ships is placed, with a heavy cruiser, a carrier, 3 destroyers, 1 frigate, and 200 fighter craft pouring out of Maltese shipyards. The Royal Vizier, Analise (a middle-aged veteran of the Replicant Encounter), was later seen purchasing a gift basket with Franz's credit card at the trending gift store Scusa, Perdonami. [25 AP] This, of course, drew no small number of complaints from the District Viziers of the Regnum. So what if the Regnum is at war? The people need better living conditions! To this, the budget affords huge expansions for the House of Rhodium, its width absorbing quite a few of the nearest city blocks, including the New Kalronian District. Few would dispute that among Human capitals, there is none quite so stately and grand as Rhodium. [60AP, 225 AP Total] Education has always been the specialty of the Maltese among their more primitive allies and foes, and other nations suddenly spending large amounts on trying to attract teachers and students was worrisome, for the sake of the poor students sent there. How could their parents possibly bear to send them to such community colleges as the Edonia School of Battle? Therefore, more retired veterans, especially officers, of various galactic fronts are offered the chance (and a generous salary) to teach military theory and practicals in the Rhodium Military Academy, and RMA purchases from Lithruan companies a variety of different training simulators and ship simulation rooms. It would seem that it is intent on at least outspending the competition. The exchange system itself continues to work the same way it always has. [8 AP, 46 Total] Perhaps spurred on by Edonian protection, the Maltese once again offer any Ymorian refugees space on Rhodium to build new lives. Emphasized is the fact that many of their war heroes have already taken this offer in the form of teaching roles in the Academy, and that they would be joining the one of the, if not the, most multicultural community in the galaxy. The Protorians are given the same offer, but Maltese projections are far lower there.

The Sanctum Regnum Melitae Anno Domini MMCLIV "Let God's work be done, fellows of Man." Francis Joseph von Habsburg had never been accused of great ingenuity. He had never been accused of great personal strength, nor of making the galaxy tremble. The Han, with their espionage and their tactics and their maneuvering, were certainly more clever than he. The Edonians, for all their faults of mind, fought ardently and for their cause till death. The Eadni were hated, to be sure, but even Elder Races would have been uncertain of battles on equal footing. No, the Sanctum Regnum was famed for something else entirely. It was famed for rumors of collapse, for rumors of sin, for rumors of blind subservience to a false god and false overlords. But rumors were just that. Franz had never felt the need to quell them, for it were the rumors that allowed it room to grow, room to position itself, room to empower itself. Its citizens had long been aware of its stances on the rights of man, of the gentle blade of its Re. Its peoples knew of the Inquisitions, of the pseudo-squadristi, of the quantum cameras that followed every movement inside and within a hundred miles of the House. Of the rapid, continuous expansion and willingness to drop pretenses in a moment to claim what its ruler of Men wished. Its people knew that the latest colonies, the most launched in a year yet, were sent there to spite the Han. (Colonies since last Map Update. Gold Filled is CS, unfilled is TC. 5 Colonies, 10 new TC {3 TC covered by new CS}) Its people knew, too, that there was no malevolence in the letters that followed, to the galaxy, to its myriad empires. To the Council upon which Francis sat. That its contents were, in the words of Hephaestus, business. "The Keerim deserve to die. The Sanctum Regnum votes no on peace, and recommends Datrax press the attack in full." The two sentences sent were, perhaps, half-ceremonial. Surely, the various Princeps and Dictators thought, he believes the Council will vote yes on peace. After all, the vote of the Maltese populates one of ten. The next action of the Maltese, however, does not reinforce the notion. The Sanctum Regnum Classis is reinforced by the construction of new ships. Enough to fully replace those lost the year previous, and more. 1 Heavy Cruiser 1 Carrier 2 Destroyers 200 Fighter Craft 3 Frigates 26 AP Spent The Ar'gakari suffered a disastrous defeat in Han space, and had lost continuously since then. Their Titan, though, would prove a formidable weapon against the far more numerous nations that did not sport such numerous and powerful mega cannons as Humanity. The massive Ar'gakari ship, into which millions of LCC has been spent repairing, orbits above Rhodium, continuing its repairs. [5 AP, 25 Total] And the mega cannons of the Maltese continue to grow in power. The MD Device, so recently upgraded, receives another boost. Its researchers say the funds will be enough to push it past another milestone, will melt Keerim warfleets like butter. Its detractors watch in dread as the testing of the dreadnought Gran Italia's new MD Device on an uninhabited planet is commissioned for the galaxy to see. [40 AP, 250 Total, 290 in Disruptors Total] On offer to any nonhuman nations not named the Keerim or Darkul goes Project Sicily [T3 Basic Disruptor] weaponry, for resources or LCC equivalent to [75 AP]. Overengineered, says immediate critics from Hephaestus and other weapons-salesmen. Deadly, says the Maltese. Also on sale goes Almawt [T3 Basic Kinetic] weaponry, of the type engineered by the Maltese and Eadni together, for the price of [70 AP]. Many are outraged by Franz' attempts at a "quick buck". His accountant is not. Not all money goes into the fleet, though. At least, not directly. The Maltese Academy system initiates the hire of as many talented veteran captains and pilots as possible from the Redons or from the Protorians, from the Ganvius or the southward-fleeing Ymorians, even from surviving Kalronians and retiring Ka'cezh, to become professors at the Rhodium Military Academy. To train new pilot cadets, to train new captains, to train new crews. To keep the education of the Regnum at the galaxy's cutting edge. [5 AP, 38 Total] Years after the first expedition, another party is sent to the replicant "colony" within Maltese space. At the same time, the Gray Man disappears. [MOD]

News that the Inquisitor had arrived spread faster than a circuit fire in a hyper-oxygenated hab-unit. The transport was old, especially for an Inquisitor’s line of work - a stripped Adherent-1, barely cut out for the quantum anchor pull from Rhodium. Its twin fusion engines kicked up a small storm of glittering dust as it landed on the outskirts of Ne Buvhondonia at sunset. The grime of this particular outworld veritably coated the buildings so obviously inspired by Adaptaari origins - short, sleek housing units and short, sleek temples built with the desert woods indigenous to the planet. Diraari Darkwood, notes the Inquisitor’s Q-Glas. Summed, the village of Ne Buvhondonia barely qualifies as a sector central colony - SRM standards dictate a minimum population of 5,000. Constan-IV has a population of 5,210 according to the last census, notes the Q-Glas. Ye Olde Sallon, the local bar was labelled. Maybe the colonists had read up on human history, or maybe they had seen Dead Grounds and taken a fancy to the Wild West. It’s spelled ‘Saloon’, notes the Q-Glas. A swiping motion made by the Inquisitor's gloved left hand, and the antiqued auto-doors swing open. The inside is dark, even for a saloon - one cursory glance at its patrons, half a dozen Adaptaar and an Ar’gakari, makes it obvious why. Monks eating some form of gelatin with spoons, a couple playing a foreign board game, a depressed ant-man surrounded by empty bottles. The counter is synth-marble and darkwood, the chairs a mix of leather and pleather, notes the Q-Glas, and the Inquisitor’s gaze snaps to the bartender. “Whiskey. Leave the bottle,” the Inquisitor says, emotionlessly. State Inquisitors Welcome is not the sign most hang on their walls, but the dozen clicks that the Q-Glas translates to “RightRightRightRightRight, sir!” seems to mean this one was more fond than most about an Inquisitor’s meddling, and/or that the sand had finally gotten into the circuitry. “Grand Reserve. 40 LCC.” clicks the tender as he/she/it slides a glass and bottle across the bar, to a waiting hand and dull silence. Beneath the Inquisitor’s helmet the dry smile feels almost visible, but the credits go through all the same. Contents approved for consumption, notes the Q-Glas, and moments later the front flips outwards and sideways, just enough for a glance at deathly pale, almost translucent, skin covered in scars and tattoos before the glass is emptied and it closes once more. “Now,” the Inquisitor’s dark helmet turns to the Ar’gakari, a gloved holding up the bottle, “Come back.”

The Sanctum Regnum Melitae Anno Domini MMCLIII With the Treatises of Humanity, its Sister Races, and Solidarity in Lithrua, the Sanctum Regnum Melitae officially joins the Lithruan Coalition. The terms it makes are simple, nearly as simple as the white peace signed just weeks earlier with the Han - a seat on the Council, a garrison for the Maltese Core Sectors, and the completion of the sale of well over 5,000 tons of xylorite. To defend their space, a great project commences. What was originally the greatest Arcology of Humanity is made better once more, and guarded by the most powerful weapons the Maltese had ever conceived, though they are all built in such a way that they cannot swivel to point directly at the House. MD Devices and cutting-edge Disruptors adapted for land emplacements aim towards the skies, towards space, towards the enemy the Maltese know will soon come. In its usual way of nearly-random diplomacy, one war is ended and one begun. The Sanctum Regnum, as part of the Lithruan Coalition, declares war on the Keerim Imperium days after entering. The Seraph Battlefleet, headed by Force Admiral Stacey Edelman, joins the combined forces of the Coalition soon thereafter. A glorious parade, filled with food and music and cheers, sends them off to die. [Edonia has graciously offered use of its shipyards to the Sanctum Regnum for the year.] [12 AP] - Two Heavy Cruisers, the Sin-Class Vainglory and Gluttony, begin construction. [12 AP] - Four Destroyers, the Relic-Class Pompeii, Brindisi, Catania, and Siracusa, begin construction. [14 AP] - Two Carriers, the Demon-Class Belias and Carnivale, join the fray. (One built in Malta, the other in Edonia). [8 AP] - Four Frigates, the Templar-Class Sassari, Bienno, Susa and Olbia, join the fray. [5 AP] - 400 Saqr II Fighters and 100 B4-X3 Bombers are built. Strange, that these found their way into Maltese arsenals. [10 AP] - Money is sent to the Trade Federation for 3 colony ships. [10 AP - 20 Total] - Money continues to pour into the reconstruction of the Titan. [45 AP - 210 Total - 250 Total in Disruptor Armaments] - [MD Device] Project Sicily is revealed to be general disruption armaments research just as a deal comes out that the Maltese and the Kingdom of Armathwaite have come to an agreement - that an investment will be made by the true heirs of Great Britain into research on the MD Device and Disruption Weaponry, for shared general armaments research and Second-Generation Disruption Beam Lance technology (T3 MD Device given to Armathwaite). With it comes the introduction of the incoming DB-A Regime line of ship armaments, the new standard in the Maltese and Kingdom of Armathwaite fleets. [135 AP - 155 AP Total on Rhodium - 11/30 Levels] - A project of inane proportions. Each section the cost of a Leviathan, but built with steel and nanocomposites and itoron alloys, protected by Ganvius-engineered city shields, and cities within building sections by their own rights, the great capital of Rhodius is expanded to ten times its size, a great sprawling mass of a tower, though its shape now resembles more a giant 10-pointed star. [16 AP - 20 AP total] - The capital world of Rhodium finally receives much-needed defensive upgrades. Its capital surrounded by MD Device and Disruptor/Kinetic Flak emplacements, all controlled by VITC systems. Barbari ad mortem. [10 AP] - The Sanctum Regnum offers to buy Trizendrium mining techniques in the beginning of the year, from anyone selling. If they don't find any sellers, what would have gone to a payment instead becomes research funds.
