  1. are you saying that you've added the metagaming and powergaming definitions right below asking what they are...?
  2. "Carrion propaganda, Edel were ruled boi tha Daelish, innit," says staunch imperialist and egoterrorist Short John 'Longsword' Potte III
  3. Just from a gameplay perspective, people on LOTC type slow enough that I feel like this should be in narrative days rather than ooc hours The 3 emotes over 15 minutes warning is also a bit iffy - I've seen people take 5 minutes per emote and it takes 3 emotes to get out
  4. "whichever idiot wrote this forgot to sign it" serelia tundrak astutely observes
  5. The ancient dowager queen of Aaun, in her once-a-decade travel to the capital from her undisclosed cabin in the woods, sees the horrific wall of blue text on the city's beautiful notice board and rips it to shreds. In its place, a poem; "Tim Tam Tom, Small-wick Maddock, I slept with your mom, and you have a tiny prick. -Amelya of Middelan"
  6. i dunno i think the trial thing is already sufficiently broad, its just lazy teachers that makes it boring for many players. when trials are cool then its not complaint worthy, it becomes an integral part of a character's story. someone having to do something for nature to be recognized by it is not crazy rply and this amendment seems to be based on a very cynical check-the-boxes view of the system in place.
  7. "you can claim deez nuts" says serelia tundrak, handing her some walnuts
  8. In the nadir of the fortunes of the House van Aert, a haggard boy had been taken in by a devastated woman. In that moment, it had seemed all was lost. The dream of the League had been shattered below the walls of Portoregne, and with it their people scattered or slain. She remembered the dim moonlight by which they had their last conversation - at the side door of the Hand, cowering like rats, as he took to flight with no more than a traveler's loaf and the clothing on his back. In that other world of honeyed words and hidden daggers, there was no flicker of hope, no faint clue to what he would accomplish. The woman lights a candle, for her brothers, for their uncles; for all those that would never see the world he had created.
  9. My big problem with forum signature nations is that they are not incentivized to interact with the rest of our ostensibly roleplay server. Anyone, literally anyone, can get 25 signatures, and anyone with drive can put together 25k if they really, really want to. Neither of these have ever been measures of success. The existence of hub nations, or worse, would-be hub nations that are buoyed up by 3 people abusing activity checks through one-on-one rp, should be disincentivized at all costs. A, they'll be destroyed by all the other ones the moment wars are enabled, because their barrier to entry being so low makes it impossible to promote sustainable or healthy rp dynamics with the other nations. B, that then creates bad blood and hate with literally everyone else (see Elysium). C, these nations spawn with the feeling that people are out to get them (Elysium, Vortice, Vansk, etc) and will close off their playerbases from the rest of the server to "protect" them, reducing post-nation player mobility. All nations die eventually. It's just a matter of if their players can easily reintegrate into other nations or if they're doomed to leave the server due to the belief everyone else is an evil pedo domestic abuser or if they've done diplo or multinational literally ever and learned this is not the case. The settlement systems, the CT systems, the town to kingdom systems we had in Asulon/Anthos era were good ways of preventing what we nowadays would call shitter groups from occupying full tiles. A better, cleaner solution would be to make anyone that wants to be a nation have to have proven activity or time as a vassal of someone else. Every successful group, which I define not purely as being active but as creating dynamic rp and interesting plot-lines/story threads for its users, as well as every properly integrated group, has done so.

  14. Aanen was no fabulously wealthy place after the war, and William of Aanen no fabulously wealthy man. Temperate, yes, and beautiful, but depopulated by a generation of war and famine, the principality was little more than a handful of half-empty farming villages and vineyards bounded by the banks of the Silversea. Its prince entertained few visitors in the fortified manor of the Renatian style that he called his home; a retired officer of the collapsed Pertinaxi regime, few wished to attach themselves to the legacy he represented. In turn, the man was said to prefer his peace in the sunny, quiet northwest. Imperial records of his later life are hazy; census-masters rarely gave more than a cursory glance to the poor, remote region, but by the time of Peter III the Aanen estates had been parceled out, largely as his eldest daughter's dowry (who would in her own time be better known as the mother of George 'Green' Carrington), and his titles put into abeyance for lack of heirs. The rest went, according to his will, to the few he kept in his household; his widow, of minor Curonian nobility, was granted a village's incomes and the use of his manor until her own death four years later; an old, scarred knight a small vineyard and its associated village; a man and woman, said to be orphaned siblings from the war, received a small tower-house from which Helena was visible on a cloudless day; his confessor, and his confessor's acolyte, what few Renatian relics he still retained; and to a chamberlain and two maids, some petty cash and belongings. By all accounts, he died a happy man.
  15. if we're doing this, can there be some way for gay or lesbian characters to have trueborn kids? "noble blood" and bloodline/family tree management is integral to human rp, and currently there's no way for such couples to have kids, which would, in the interest of protecting a prestigious house's bloodline, force a disinheritance. someone mentioned this earlier but i think it got drowned out. can u make a magic or a ritual or smth that allows this pls im p sure the argument for rp homophobia has always historically been the above (altho somehow this thread the argument seems to be precedent which is silly considering the server is full of ******* neanderthals that spawn random cultures at will with 0 ingame continuity)
  16. amelya of middelan thanks god that balkanization is over
  17. how are mods supposed to play? surely this should say smth more like "they may not be realm leader or issue any rulings related to realms in which they play"... being unable to be in leadership at all runs counter to the type of player that makes a good mod (active, communicative, and respected) i promise u this will have no impact on bias itll just lead to more complex rule skirting
  18. bring back siliti ty vampires r cool
  19. Long John 'Shortsword' Potte, a good Canonist who was also taken too soon, welcomes his benefactor, his savior, and his best friend into the Seven Skies as a fellow saint.

proof: if you look in this thread, you can see that MisguidedRoyal's character name is 'Chand'. Look up 'Chand' in the search function, and this thread won't appear.

@Charles The Baldtbh javascript should have absolutely nothing to do with the searchbar, especially because it isn't even reactive or anything (you have to refresh the page to search), but i wouldnt be surprised if it did cuz christ is it shit

  21. Serelia the Snow Elf resolved to write to her granddaughter about this grave injustice, for, after all - the Silver City had recognized the mali'fenn as a different race since time immemorial. It was just a shame she had misplaced her Enclave passport in the half-millenium since.
  22. how does it feel to be my descendant @Morigung-oog
