In a room over looking the sea, Sean Bradshaw sits in a padded chair behind an old desk piled with papers and ledgers. A salt air breeze passes through the open window and lightly ruffles some papers. Sean doesn't mind, he's always loved the sea. Many of the wrinkles and sun-spots on his aged face he proudly wears as marks of days spent on the ocean. Through the window he can see the newly commissioned 50-gun warship Peacekeeper.
Meticulously designed and built by Bradshaw Shipyard. The shipyard had been long planned and finally completed under the oversight of Sean and his son Kyle Bradshaw. Just yesterday they had celebrated the completion of their first capital ship. A joint venture of father and son, blacksmith and carpenter.
Sean Bradshaw shakes off the thoughts of the ship and his son and finishes the document in front of him, signing with a flourish. Kyle enters soon after.
"The Swordfish is ready for sea father. Is the announcement ready?"
Sean stands up, slowly working the creaks out of his bones, and passes the sealed document to his son.
"It is, do as we've discussed, have it copied and distributed. Meet with anyone interested in our services."
Sean walks around the desk and claps his son on the shoulder.
"Travel safe my son. May you find fair winds and a following sea."
Kyle smiles at the phrase his father has long used and embraces his father, then carefully stows the sealed document in his satchel.
"I'm sure the Swordfish will find any fair winds that are to be had. I'll send word of any contracts. Take care father."
Sean nods and watches his son retreat from the room and later watches the Swordfish depart from his window. The ship drops her bright sails, snapping taught as they fill with wind. Before long she's cutting a foaming trail out of the bay and rounds the point, out of sight.
