I am pleased to announce that our next Sohaer will be Valindra Nullivari-Liavyre. A fine mali'thill, who embodies the guiding teachings of maehr'sae hiylun'ehya. By the Light of Larihei, may she lead us into a new era of prosperity. Valindra captured fifty-eight percent of the votes in the third round of counting against Annyerir Ailer'thilln, who took fourty-two percent of the votes. Azra Kaeronin was eliminated in the second round with thirty-six percent of the votes, and Jari'el Mah'nel in the first round with seven percent. I will note, several ballots were discarded due to missing citizenship paperwork, I implore all blessed residents of Elcihi'thilln to ensure they have filled out the paperwork and submit it to a councilor, blank copies can be found near the main gate. Do note, these discards would not have impacted the final result should they have been counted. The Silver Inauguration Laurir Valindra will be inaugurated by the Maheral in the Citadel on the 7th of the Grand Harvest, SA 223 [Saturday, 3 pm EST]. THE SILVER BALLOT, S.A. 222 Blessed citizens of Haelun'or, As per my previous missive outlining the SILVER ELECTION, we have now completed nominations and the Silver Debate. The transcript of the Maheral's questions from the Silver Debate can be found in the library. Voting is now open for the Office of Sohaer. The ballot box may be found in the Citadel. Due to the larger than usual count of candidates, we will be using a ranked ballot. Rules for the Election: Each Blessed Citizen may either vote for a single candidate, or rank the candidates. Not all four candidates need be ranked, you may put only your top one, top two or top three should you desire. If no candidate reaches at least 50% of the votes, the candidate with the lowest vote share will be ignored, and ballots ranking them first will defer to the second candidate on that ballot, and so on, until one candidate has a majority. The Election and the counting of the votes are supervised by the Maheral. Illegitimate votes will be discarded [You may only vote on one character]. If you try to fish your vote from the ballot box, it will cause an immediate discount [Do not edit your post]. Only the Maheral and their assistants, who count the votes, may delve into the contents of the ballot box. Any other doing so is in violation of the Silver Law [Do not metagame votes]. Our goal as the Administration is to create the best possible experience on Lord of the Craft, and we firmly believe in our Roleplay Leadership Guidelines, we will uphold roleplay first, and we will take action against those who degrade this for the rest of us. We told you not to metaplay. At the same time, I am very proud of the progress this community has made towards a roleplay-first culture. I’ve seen more and more people avoiding OOC discussions, and taking both important and trivial things to roleplay, the medium where the development of our characters and storylines is meant to take place. The web development sect of the tech team is back at it again with an update and announcement regarding the winners of our previously announced arts contest for the new store page, plus some other updates in regards to the going ons regarding the website. The Store page Arts Contest winners Thank you to all the participants! Although we received many amazing submissions for our store page arts contest we unfortunately could only pick 4 winners (we decided to tie two for third place because we liked them so much). After many weeks of deliberation and discussions among the team we had finally settled on what we believed would be the best pick for the store page. We didn't just judge the art on how good it looked, we also had to factor in the functionality of the store page cards with the new art and how easy to understand these pieces were for their respective use cases, even requesting our final round of participants to create an additional card for judging. Forum Fixes As some of you may know, over the last couple weeks something began to really take a toll on the forums, causing massive slow downs and occasional crashes. After some investigation, as well as moving the forum database from a shared DB with other web apps running on our web node to a dockerized instance dedicated for Invision, I was able to deduce that much of slowdown was caused by AI webcrawlers (probably these new free reasoning models) spamming out search bar with nonsense queries and inevitably overwhelming the database with the amount of requests they were making. As a result, search requests made by guests are now disabled, which seems to have cleared away the issues. Home Page Not much to talk about here, but progress is slowly being made on the new and improved home page by @SaviourMeme, with some cool features being added throughout. Although in the grand scheme of things its a single page on the web, we are trying to make it a unique and enticing landing page for new players and anyone that might stumble upon it. I'm not sure about some of the focuses in this magic on the soul and healing. Honestly, it's giving more of a rework of Ascended than a new Tah magic based on the new lore, which I feel has more of an emphasis on purging impurity with zero tolerance, and I would expect a new cleric write to have more of a zealous focus, all the soul stuff is really more in line for an Aeriel magic. I do really like the concept for this magic, I just don't see it fitting for Tah, especially following his new write.
