So there's no plan to like, phase out LC, or at least limit its destructive usage as a means to raise sprawling metropolises out of the steppe?

This is a pretty cool plugin, though.

Not sure, that's a question for the GM team - I just coded what was asked for :)

    Hey Denizens of Axios!

Today the Development Team is happy to announce some changes to the way Limited Creative works.

Here are the changes that will affect you:

    • You no longer need to make a mod request to go into creative mode, or add builders to your region. The player who purchases creative mode will be able to add players to the region, and Limited Creative will automatically put players in and out of creative mode when they enter/exit the region.
    • The region will no longer be entry/exit locked. Players who are not on the region will still be able to enter and use the region for roleplay, but will be unable to build and will not get creative mode.
    • Payments can be made easily by typing /lcpay. This will prompt you to enter the name of the region, and the amount you would like to pay off. Once the region is paid off and the time is expired, it will be automatically removed.
      • Note: If payment is not received within 48 hours of the the expiry date, you region will be locked by the plugin until the balance is received.
    • We have added an automated process for our GMs to set it up - this will get your regions made faster!
    • The costing formula has been changed. Regions are no logner expanded vertically from bedrock to sky limit, and instead follow this math:
      • cost = volume/100, being at least 2500 mina (minimum has not changed)
      • With a minimum of 2500, this costs out the region by dividing the volume by 100, so regions with a height of 100 will cost the same as before, while regions from bedrock-sky limit will be 2.5x as expensive, and a region 50 blocks high will be 1/2 as expensive as before, etc.

So, here is the new process:

    • Make a mod request requesting the region to be made, along with what the region will be called (ex. Oren Capital). Have two corners marked out ahead of time, taking into account height.
    • A GM will setup your region, and you will be automatically added as owner. You will get a notification when this occurs.
    • Add your builders to the region with /rg addmember <name> and start building!
    • Pay off your region all at once or via installments with /lcpay, anyone can pay your bill, not just the creator.
    • When the region expires, make sure to pay it off within 48 hours! It will be automatically removed.
    • If you want a region removed early, message a GM after you have paid it off, and they will remove it.
    • Feel free to RP in the area while its under construction.

Let me know what you think of the changes! Hope you like them!

  4. Hey all,

As many of you know the warclaim today was cancelled due to lag and item loss. I have met with the War Team and Teegah to discuss what happened. Unfortunately due to the sheer volume of players (more than three times what we had for our test sessions) we were unable to foresee these issues.

    - Due to a limit we were unaware of for the method we were using to send data, some players had internal errors occur when attempting to send their items over.

    - This, along with another bug, caused inventories to be lost. Items are being refunded by the GM team, please make a modreq if you lost items with exactly what you lost. If you lost roleplay items, please be patient. Do not make a modreq then log off - the GMs are getting to them as fast as they can.

    - The main issue was the freezing/packet sending lag. This was caused due to some complex latency issues which were not experienced with the smaller group of players. We know what has causes this, and will be resolving it for the next warclaim.

Today's warclaim, along with all others scheduled, have been postponed for two weeks.

    Thanks for your cooperation.

Game Dev Team & War Team

  5. The server is on 1.12.1 so definitely use that version. As for the IP: mc.lotc.co should work fine - but if you can not connect I would recommend contact your ISP - or perhaps changing your DNS settings. Beyond that, I do not think this is an issue on our end, and I don't think we can help with the issue.

So you're saying that the humans get a "fast worker" buff but the halflings don't? Aren't halflings portrayed as hard workers as well?

(I guess this'll be the replacement for the normal human buff now that I'm looking at it harder.

I only indicated that since many people may think halflings are a sub-race of humans. Currently, halflings already have TWO racial professions, while humans have none. This is meant to fill the gap when it comes to humans and profession bonuses - not to be a negative for any other group.

I feel you should focus on your current feedback and situation rather than opening a completely different subject and doing something drastic with this system. Otherwise you might just open another can of worms.

This is directly based on the feedback from the announcement thread - it is the exact same subject.

And no, this wasn't rushed - however there were some oversights. If we had announcement it before it was implemented there would have been people who figured out ways to transition. Further, testing is not a magical 'fix-all' for all foreseen problems. and it's actually much easier to find and fix issues when its live - it won't take long to get this system balanced.

  8. Hey all,

We will be making the following tentative changes tonight (green = done):

    • Max energy will be increased to 1000.
    • Regeneration rates will be kept the same at 2/minute. This means it will take 8 hours 20 mins to regenerate full energy bar.
    • 'Powerful' crafts - ie diamond armor, explosives, etc - will have increased energy use values.
    • Arrows will have decreased energy usage.
    • Various crafts will have energy use and XP gain changed for ease and consistency.
    • The skill tier multiplier will be increased: 1/3 energy use at Aengullic rather than 1/2.
    • A few food and alchemy items will have energy boosts added (tentative on if I can get this done in a timely fashion, if not today then this weekend).
    • Issues with enchanting books will be fixed.
    • Fixed buckets getting eaten
    • Humans (highlanders, heartlands, farfolk, adunians) will have a racial profession buff added:
Fast workers: Given there short-lived lives, humans work faster with the time they have. +15% energy regeneration rate.

Let me know what you all think of these or what else we could do to make the system better - I'll try to get in what I can for tonight based on your feedback.

  9. Thanks for all the feedback thus far, especially Squirt. As sandking mentioned we will be adjusting values to make this system better. As there's hundreds of crafts we surely can't get everything perfect the first time. However I think it's important to remember that we made this update to make things easier and more enjoyable, and with this in mind we are very open to changes regarding it.

PS. I saw some comments about this, and if you're a higher skill tier less energy is required to craft. 50% less at aengullic.

the real question is.....if you have low energy does that effect % on weapons or armor?

Also if this is desided to stay, can we have a choise if we can commit full energy into making for example a axe so a low skilled person puts all his energy into it and gets a pretty decent axe cuz he spent all of his energy into it? for example(not going off of how skills work but so you get a idea)

vet: uses 5 energy for 25% axe

leg: uses 5 energy for 42% axe

    but insead we could do

vet: uses all 120 energey gets 40-50% axe (im giving a example on precent so you guys understand)

legendary: uses all 120 energy 70% axe

not sure but it would be nicer to have it where we put more energy into a item the better it is ofc....also maby have it where food can replench energy? like coffee of sleeping.....idk......ideas ideas ideas.....

Like it thu keep up good work staff

Thats actually a really good idea but would require a full recode of the plugin basically - something we may explore in the future.

Yes, but at the same time, it means that if I picked a profession like leatherworker, which depends mostly on crafting stacks of items, I'm shafted. I can't start a stack of leather, leave for class, then come back and collect the leather, I have to hop on every hour or so. You're creating a perverse incentive for players to just AFK on the server so they can regenerate their persona energies, bloating the player count and creating the illusion of activity.

How does this system even work for high-end crafts like golden apples, diamond armor, etc. ? Do these items now have a one hour craft time?

    nOwaFbjQR1mKTRdVebouHQ.png

Nope, now you can log on, craft nearly two stacks of leather, then log off.

Or 40 leather helmets, or 60 boots, or 30 chestplates, or 30 leggings - all instant (this is without factoring in less energy use for high skilled people).

    This benefits you.
