  1. [[so i'm wondering why I don't have perms anymore? I'm off for 2 days and everything changes. How come I can access ANYTHING? No warning or anything. Can i get perms back since there is no way you could stop me from accessing my own things. This may not be the best place to post it, but if i get no response I'll post it again.]]
  2. *I looks at the flier* W'at miners 'ave t'at muc' iron? T'is tax be too steep. I be not paying in Iron. i will give me 'ome up. Varivik was to be tax free and now it be very steep. T'is place be going down'ill. *to himself* I must talk with Gunjar
  3. *Garion meets with Gunjar* I will sign ye C'arter. [[i have to say to everyone who hasn't RPed with us don't say anything. Many are like Garion who do not like to battle unless needed. You guys can talk about rebellion, but who is to say it won't happen anyway. Just let things take its course. Don't complain about another town. You might as well say no other charters be made.]] [[MC name: Onegarion
  4. I'm going to say it again. Stop complaining about grinding it isn't bad. If you actually do your job in game you gain levels quickly. Even pick up a skill that supports your main one. Archery get lumberjack, Swords/Axes get Blacksmith, Cooking either farming or a combat skill. Don't get 3 skills that don't meld well. Like Farming, Fishing, and Lumberjack. Not that I'm sure anyone has done that. Also we don't need skill resets. Your character isn't going to go from I am a major Swordsman and next "Uh how do i use swords?" There is such a thing called /delevel. Progressively lower your stats. I've done it a number of times already. Suck it up and support the devs. Its no easy task to code this and they made it pretty realistic. Learn to use the commands and stop complaining about "grinding" which isn't really that big of a deal. Its part of life. Deal with it.
  5. I want to say a little on the bandages. If people want more realism then how about after you are hit and don't but a bandage you have a chance of getting a disease and DYING. Just suck it up and I like the idea of saying that bandages have a magic quality just to follow RP and maybe cause some issue because of the magic. I still think having a full bar should heal even if its half of what it is. Partially because of people's comments and partly because food does keep you healthy and it will cut the need for cooks as much. Also beds have always healed you at least since I joined. I am interested in the stealth skill and how it will be implemented. I hope the percentages get changed so at lvl 100 you have maybe a 5% fail at most because "Garion was careless and arrogant and struck the iron wrong and cracked it." Idk just an idea. I've had to say things like that a number of times already. I don't like the failure anyway because even if you suck all your going to do is make a crappy diamond sword so you can't use it much. It kind of pains me to hear the shops plugin is gone because my town just built this huge shopping area and now its kind of pointless. I do have to say with my schedule changing daily that a shop helps sell goods for those who can't be on at peak hours. There aren't to many people in my area on at 4 in the morning which is like 3 am server time. I really don't think a game wide reset is necessary since characters like mine don't have the skills that are being added. It might be a strain on teams, but let it be those who have a claim to the skills. Ultimately complaints on the updates can't be taken seriously until we have a chance to try them out. Until we try and then find they suck or rock we can't really decide on whether we like or hate them.
  6. Actually i like the idea of training dummies, but you would also need to do the same for archers with stands. You would have to make them out of a certain material like wool. It makes it easier on coding. But I have a room dedicated to training on dummies and this would make it useful other than a cool looking room that people won't use. Again on grinding. They could make you start off at level 0 without the /addlevel so stop complaining and take it for what it is. Grinding isn't hard and all of you just complain about not getting from level 0 to level 100 in a week. Grinding doesn't take from RP. It only does if you do it solo.
  7. After reading all of this I want to give my 2 cents. Also I'm going to talk in the world disregarding code, so some stuff might be a little extreme with code involved. I'm actually tired of people complaining about grinding. I think it should be harder to level up. Garion is a blacksmith miner who cooks, knows archery, chops trees, excavates, and can use a sword. I've gotten mining to level 65 in about 1 week and blacksmithing I can get about 2-3 levels a day just because I'm bored. I do a lot of RP while I'm at it. I'm not really missing out on anything. All of his skills beside blacksmithing and mining are no higher than 30 and that is only lumberjack that comes close. Its because the community around him doesn't give the things he needs out so he must get them. I've used my spent points and deleveled A LOT. At one point in time he has had a point in a skill just because I've experimented or needed something. Next I like the race bonuses, but I feel like it shouldn't make any one race superior to another, but lets a starting dwarf have blacksmith skills, while a human doesn't. These also wouldn't count towards your cap or just raise the cap and give each race a set bonus. Yes a dwarf is probably better at smithing, but if a human dedicates his life to it shouldn't he be just as good. That or many people will meta and pull the "I trained with dwarves in their forge so my cap should be raised." I know I will be the first just because I want to be the best I can. Also I like the idea of going on a quest of sorts or doing something out of the ordinary to acquire level 100 in any skill. Like a swordsman or axe master should have to kill something like the dragon (not sure if we can actually get there RPly though). An archer should hit a target so far away or kill a certain person from a distance. A crafter would have to craft something out of the ordinary with some rare item. Even go so far as a self made sword with full RP of the creation. Nothing enchanted or anything, but an item that proves mastery and not just walking up to a crafting table. Farmers would have to grow something rare to prove that they can cultivate anything. All of these would be GM watched so no one can help them or do it for them. I feel like we should have skills of building and speechcraft or orating. Building so not everyone can help out. Basically you can only build so high until your skill would raise. Probably a pain in the butt, but it makes so you actually have builders. Orating is more of a hail of your RPing. Not really a skill, but how GMs and important people think you RP. King Godfrey sees I'm emoting while smithing, +1. Another thing I like is the trainers and maybe making them like quest givers. Each major city has one and say you bring a perfect iron sword you get 1 skill. You will only be able to get it once (so all coding). Yes some new guy will buy one or get it off his friend, but he won't be able to get it again. I wouldn't want to waste my minas to just get one and try to pass it for 1 level upgrade. I feel like there was something else but I just can't think of it. Let the breakdown begin. Also remember I was talking the realm outside of coding. So if its to hard to code, don't scream at me, but let me know.
  8. I be Garion and 'ave been in this great city for much time. Ye asked me to come and I find t'is place a great one. I would like to be a artificer of t'is land. I 'ave grown fond of Varivik and would like to serve to me fullest potential.
  9. *a letter is left by the Ulfgar camp. It reads:* If ye want help with the battle to make it easier leave a note by the ruins outside of the gauntlet.
  10. I'm going to make it quick. I've been here a week and I can't find anyone who can give me or has given me permissions and I'm a blacksmith. So i can't use furnaces and help others. Its aggravating and may cause me to leave. I have been involved with a lot of things and met a number of people and still can't partake in any of the actions. It kind of ruins the RP when I have to fight with the game just to let me do some things. It would help to just be able to use my chest and stop carrying EVERYTHING. I love this town and people I'm getting to know and I don't want to leave for a trivial matter. Edit: Problem fixed so now I can join in the fun.

  17. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: onegarion How old are you?: 20 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Eastern/ USA Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I believe I do. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I work long hours and love to take long hours and relax. I like RPG games and the medieval era. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: A minimum of 14 hours. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is taking the persona of someone or something you are not. You get inside the head of a person who is not you and you "become" that person when you are in the game. Roleplaying gives an outlet to see how it can to be evil and not care about anything or live a life that I could only wonder about. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have played many RPGs and have partaken in a number of real world roleplaying. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Metagaming involves knowledge gained about the game through methods outside of the game. This is like you and a friend talking over skype. While in game your friends is being ambushed and you are no where near him to know of this, but come to his aid after he tells you of it through skype. It would also include emailing a friend about a location of an enemy base and letting them clear it and prepare while you are offline. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: This involves a couple of scenarios. One is which a player ignores RPing and will simply kill a player without a notice. This gives no chance of RP. This takes the fun out of the server and gives no chance of the many options that occur. This is also symbolized when a bandit attacks and starts talking, but does not allow his victim to reply and strikes instantly killing him. The other is breaking the limitations that a normal wouldn't be able to do. This would be like building an entire castle in a day or fighting off an army by oneself. This is not realistic and makes your player to powerful and unreal. They should feel the limitations that come with building a castle and fighting an ongoing battle against many opponents. What do you expect this server will be like?: an interactive server being able to join in others and make for a community that works together and is interactive. it will be one that I will enjoy coming back to. (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): none Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Onegarion is the son of a blacksmith. Their house was located in the wild within a days travel of Arethor. Onegarion grew up alongside his dad in the forge. He had been told of the creation story many a times. Being in the wild he had to learn to use his creations and not just forge them. He has learned to wield a blade. He has engaged in a few battles traveling between home and the city. This has lead him to look for a life by the blade. This dream was put in motion on a trip to Mt. Ire'heart when August Flay attacked his caravan. Leading the group they fought off the small group of bandits with only one lose of life. With the lose of one of his friends he wants to gain the power to protect his family and friends from invaders. After that he gave up the life of the blacksmith and only worked on armor to protect. He traveled to the capital of the Oren Empire and joined the guard to learn to fight properly. After a year in service he decided to leave so he could use his knowledge to improve his home. When he returned home the village he once knew was gone. All of his family and friends, other than one who joined the guard and stayed with them. He took the trek to tell his friend of the news. After telling his friend of the dire news, he relayed to him the plan he wanted to implement. He wanted to make a town where the inhabitants are free of worry of attack. He now strives to defend the innocent. What are your Character's ambitions?: To build a settlement that protects its own and form a group of warriors to protect those around them. Height: 6'3'' Weight: 220 lbs Age: 28 He is built from working the forge when he was younger, but his build comes mostly from learning to fight. He doesn't care to wear armor because of the added weight slows him down and reduces mobility when he is not in combat. He is rough and rugged. With his desire to defend and train he has cast aside a big portion of his disdain of others if they will take the oath to join and live and die by the blade next to him. He only trusts his closest friends and will be cautious around any who have not proven themselves beyond without a doubt. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):Sword What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Crafting armor, but By far combat of the sword first and the bow second. (1-10 scale.) Armor 4, Sword 7, Bow 5.(Just another aid and everything else would be 0. No real relevance other than it being an aid to show he isn't OP or a master of anything). A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ): Other Information about your Character: Other than a life of battle and forging he knows nothing else. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? *Sprints towards the flank of the attackers and charges at the closest one* "Halt bandits!" *Grabbing the first man and locking his arm behind him with the point of the blade to the mans neck* "What is the problem here warriors. What has this halfling done to you?" *Finding the halfling is being robbed* "I have your companion so lay down your weapon and leave him be or face the steel of my blade. *Finding the halfling has stolen from the warriors* "You halfling return what you have taken and be thankful they haven't pierced you through. You warriors, what allegiances do you have? I would like to see if you are worthy to join my cause." Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? *Glaring at the man* "Why are you bothering me merchant. Can i not just walk down the road without being heckled by your kind. If I wanted some of your wares I would have approached you." *Walks away with his hand on the hilt of his blade* Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: *Observes the craftsmanship of the sword* After examining the weapon and looking at the level of skill on the bars.*Patiently sits on a stump outside of the house and awaits the inhabitants* "Any such man with the skill to craft this golden sword is a man I want in my company, but a man who simply bought this weapon is no friend of mine. If he is a thief he must be talented and work for me and foolish and be taught a lesson." Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "I am a warrior willing to provide my services to your camp for some food and a place to stay." After staying at the camp and having time to regain his energy. "This camp is now far from my encampment with my fellow companions. In exchange for pay we will provide you security in your trade and travel. I give you two days to decide. i will return at that time for your answer." *Leaves the camp and heads in a direction away from his camp and once out of sight he moves in the direction right at his camp. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: *Stands in the middle of the group* "Hail! Lets us take down these bandits and make these lands safe again. I gladly lie my life on the line and all who are men will join me. Any man who stands and fights can call themselves my brother." *Storms into battle blade drawn leading a group men gathered to aid the town guard* Anything else you would like to say?: I was wondering if my guy would be good for a villain application. I would take the position of like a merc leader with a group that may rob and steal, but also protects. Does this even qualify? It would not be the OP Evil ruler, just a band of warriors that will do what they need to survive and it involves evil things. Also like stated earlier the numbers above are aids and do not represent anything in game, just the level of competency of my character at a couple of things.

He would revel at the many minstrels and wanderers that come in to the forge. While they waited for their gear to be repaired or replaced he asked them question of the world beyond the castle walls. When he grew up he started to sneak out at night to traverse the land and see what he missed. A pampered 16 year old would wander around and fond mines, monsters, and travelers. One such traveler told of the many lands he had been to. He made the decision to leave his home and venture into the wild. When he was 18 he left his home and took nothing but a sword and a pickaxe. He escaped in the middle of the night and never looked back. He walked days with little to eat other than what he found and the gratuity of passersby.
