_________________________________________________________________________________ History House Blackwell, it is a name which could easily inspire some form of distaste in those of noble blood. Though not for lack of want, it is to be said that the house seems to have been formed of commoners and men of a lineage not suitable for nobility. Although this may be true, they are there, and that bit is known. House Blackwell was formed on a drunken meeting with Henrik, the King, and the first patriarch of the Blackwell family, George. Knowing of Georges service in military, and his old (even antiquated) blood which would allow some form or consideration of nobility to be possible. In the kings drunken stupor, he granted the Blackwells land and title as well as some form of prestige, and it seems as though many years later this style of negotiation has turned out well for their family as a whole. When the Duke of Northal resigned, through advice from his son, George Blackwell became a vassal of Herendul, and gained countship of the Norfolk-Ager region. Even with this, he was gifted more: He became the grand commander of the brotherhood of Northmen, an organization which was considered especially prominent during those eras (since then, being disbanded late-anthos to all close estimates.) In a horrible sadness, rather, blunder, he got leprosy. He died about a year later, on the second sun of 1463. His son, Oliver, inherited the ownership of the house and the family that came with it. He had married his bride, Elifi Stafyr, exactly a decade before. Oliver assimilated the Northmen into his own order, the Winterguard. It became the main banner-force of Herendul, and Oliver became the commandant. After George’s death, Joseph, his brother, went ‘missing’. Soon after, the son of Joseph, Jon Blackwell, was on the field preparing for an armed conflict when ruffians went up to him and beat the living hell out of him, murdering him in about fifteen minutes and stealing all of his belongings. Around the same time of all of these travesties, the worst of them all occurred to the youngest link? Elfi Blackwell-Stafyr, the bride of Oliver, went missing soon in relation to these events and has been considered since to have likely been killed by hired men. The history of Blackwell as it is now is a simple one, and it is this: Bannermen of Oren, of Herendul, and a Winterguard-based family with values rooted in tradition deep in the old way of things. _________________________________________________________________________________ Heirlooms The Shield of Blackwell Held by the Lord of Blackwell, it represents the protector of the House. It is their duty as lord to make sure they stay both moral, and physically safe. When Edward Blackwell left the Greymane family to become an independent and more moral house he made this to symbolize such. The shield bears the Sigil of House Blackwell. Currently in possession of: Lord Oliver Blackwell The Long Sword Of Blackwell This is held by the first Knight in the generation of the family. It is to be given to each generation. If the one Knight passes and no one has been knighted yet from the next generation the Lord of the House has the duty to store it until another squire in the House has been Knighted. The sword is supposed to represent the most experienced fighter of the House and reward him for such experience. Below that is a small inscribing of the words VonSchlichten Co. So far is has been passed on from each lord to his son. After the Greymarsh was demolished, he and his family moved to Cavan where his sister Harriet was born. There Oliver was raised as a page to his father who joined the levy, and learned basic fighting skills from him. When Oliver was 16, after a drunken meeting with King Heinrick, his father was given the Barony of Ager and his family raised to a masterly house. After a year of courting, he married Elfi Stafyr shortly after and had his first son Thomas. When his father founded the Brotherhood of the Northmen, he became a commander in that. He had two more children, Elsie and Leon. After their transition to the Fringe, his father died, and he became the lord of House Blackwell. He dissolved the Northmen and assimilated it into the Winterguard, which he is the commandment of. He currently lives in Kaldonia with the Winters in the noble district. What are they like (personality)?: - Hot headed when challenged, though otherwise level headed to people that don't conflict with him. He tries to act up his self appearance to try and make himself feel better about himself. He's usually reserved, though not shy, but becomes louder when angered. While he tries to follow a philosophy close to Machiavellianism, he is quick to fall to temptation if it displays a rewarding enough opportunity. What are their ambitions?: - To make his name more prestigious. Do they have any special skills?: - Somewhat skilled in sword combat after several years of training with it in the Winterguard. What are their weaknesses?: - Arrogance. While he tries his best to see with a level head, his played up look of himself can make him stubborn in over coming differences and cause him to always want to come out on top. Oliver looks up slightly from his papers as his young ward Atticus enters his office. The boy dropped a parchment onto his desk and nods politely before leaving. Oliver takes the parchment and reads it over briefly before standing and grabbing his helmet. He yells out as he leaves the barrack offices. "Armor up, we ride to war!" At once the men of the Winterguard cheer as they start to equip themselves. One by one they all meet Oliver out in the courtyard of the keep. He looks over to his sergeant, who nods once all the men have rallied. The group marches out of the courtyard and towards Vekaro to rally for the battle.

Oliver nods to his sergeant as he enters the church, who was in charge of the Winterguard men there as they were stationed around the perimeter to protect the wedding. He takes a seat with the rest of the nobles and naps through the boring ceremony. He later at the festivities afterwards stuffs himself with food while standing in the corner and rating all the ladies at the wedding from 1-10 with Harold Winter.

Oliver walks up to the throne as the rest of the nobles do. He kneels in front of the Emperor and recites the oath. "I, Oliver Blackwell, Count of Norfolk-Ager do become your liege man of life and limb, and of earthly worship; and faith and truth I will bear unto you, to live and die, against all manner of folks. So help me God."
