  1. "May GOD protect you and bring peace and prosperity to your lands. May this pact be a symbol of unity and understanding between the two nations and may it bring forth a new era of peace and progress. May GOD be with you!"

Says Father James as he signs the Lorraine

  2. The Scroll of Spirit is a holy text that was originally delivered to Exalted Owyn in the form of epistles to various nations. It is intended for instructional and devotional use by laypeople, but the translation into the common tongue is not suitable for ecclesiastical use due to its lack of nuance in the original language. The Scroll of Spirit discusses the nature of GOD and contains three main epistles, addressed to the Godwinites, the Jorenites, and the Harrenites.

The epistle to the Godwinites focuses on the sin of ascribing partners to GOD and worshiping fallible men. Owyn admonishes the Godwinites to turn away from false gods and seek salvation in the one true GOD, who is the sole and only god. He emphasizes the greatness of GOD's fullness and purity, and stresses that the Lord's glory is not based on mere magnitude but on His perfection and fullness.

The epistle to the Jorenites addresses the sin of failing to defend the word of GOD and mixing in the words of lesser beings. Owyn urges the Jorenites to be strict in their prayers, as prayer is a way to strengthen the spirit and the word of GOD is the paramount strategy. He also emphasizes the eternal nature of GOD and the lasting holiness of Horen's word.

The epistle to the Harrenites focuses on the sin of worshiping idols and the importance of upholding the covenant with GOD. Owyn reminds the Harrenites of GOD's past miracles and encourages them to turn away from their idolatry and return to the one true GOD. He also stresses the importance of upholding the covenant and the consequences of breaking it.

The Epistle to the Elves addresses the sin of dividing the world into what is holy and what is profane, exalting the natural world while denigrating the works of man. Owyn reminds the Elves that there is no holiness in creation but with the Lord and that all things are part of GOD's creation, including the works of man. He stresses that the qualities of GOD are infinite and eternal, and that holiness cannot be divided. Instead, Owyn advises the Elves to find salvation and glory in GOD's grace, rather than in his creations.

The Epistle to the Dwarves addresses the sin of dividing the authorities of GOD among many beings and profaning what is holy. Owyn warns the Dwarves that by trading the one true GOD for many false gods, they are opening the door to the Denier, who will bring great iniquity. He reminds them that only with the strength of GOD can they hope to defeat Iblees, and emphasizes the infinite power of GOD, who is able to do all things.

The Epistle to the Orcs addresses the sin of violence and the importance of repenting for past wrongdoings. Owyn reminds the Orcs of the punishment of the first brothers for their sin, and advises them to turn away from violence and seek salvation through repentance. He also encourages them to follow the commandments of GOD and to seek peace and reconciliation with their neighbors.

Overall, the Scroll of Spirit is a holy text that emphasizes the greatness and singularity of GOD and warns against the sin of worshiping false gods or failing to defend and uphold the word of GOD. Its message is relevant to believers today, as it reminds us of the importance of staying true to our faith and the dangers of straying from it.

As you walk through the slums in Vienne you see a jester, he emits a pure confident energy while speaking

"Hey, hey you! I know you're living in the slums now... Times are tough, but tough times don't last. Tough people do. Would you like more mina than you can count, and go from barely affording food in the slums to being a slumlord millionaire?

"Well... I've got the scheme for you, it's simple. You see these legumes and this snake oil? Well, they have special properties to them. The oil can cure all sorts of ailments and these legumes.... Oh boy don't get me started. I've had a single plant for 5 years and I have so much food I will never pay for beans again."

Now, these products are great, but they won't make you rich by consuming them. Go out and SELL them to the fine people of Vienne and beyond for more than you paid. I am giving you a VERY special price, much lower than they are worth so that you can stock up and distribute them to the world. "

    5 Mina for Snake Oil

    7 mina for Magic Legumes

The Jester looks both ways before he speaks in a hushed tone

"You seem like a good person I'll let you in on an even better deal... Keep this between me and you, if you refer someone to purchase from me and they mention your name ((DM dairy#0145 with proof of purchase and the IGN of the person who referred you)) I will give you both an extra bottle or some beans for FREE.

On top of that, any time your friend buys more you will get 1 mina each time. If you have a group of people who you referred buying my oil or my beans regularly you will make passive mina, growing your wealth more."

All honesty, these images look amazing! For the map size, I feel like having a map size that is sort of like Anthos with a tad bit larger just by very little would be good.

The Map of Anthos the size of it was very good. The roads to getting to nations was very easy and having nations not super close but nearby at least I think is a good shout.

Im about to sound like a boomer but YES, this, this this this. Also bring back Kingston. That city was pure and just.

PS. It's been 7 years since the home page was updated, the last time it was updated we were on this exact same map.

  6. Cardinal James Griffiths Rubs his eyebrow as he reads the page.

"Perhaps there should be an acolyte lesson on formatting a thesis. Writing in the center like that in each paragraph makes reading a chore."

James squints while he reads as he hums over the page, he begins to form a letter.

     " Dear Acolyte Cailin,

Your thesis is difficult to read, not because of it's content, merely how it was written. Writing from the left side of the page to the right in a format like this is much more appropriate.  In terms of your ideals, I'm not entirely sure we would agree, but I cannot discredit your thought process.

    In faith,

@HogoBojo @Llir since either one of you are the admins involved a reply would be nice. Ignoring this isn't going to stop anyone from asking about it and quite frankly I've yet to see a valid reason. Don't even give me a "oh why don't you do it" because it is your guys' job to. This has been bouncing between CT excuses and Tech excuses for years and just like the dynamap updates, I feel like it's laziness and not an actual excuse.

@Lliradmittedly did reply to the other forum post, but it was an absolute BS reply with no substance pretty much saying "It's too hard" when the most egregious part of all of this could be fixed VERY easily. I'm so disappointed in LoTC right now, it's insane how lazy the team truly is.

Why's everything have to be drama and a conspiracy?

I was fully behind this redesign, but web design is completely out of my skillset. I would have brought on someone besides Lyon as he was already dipping out of activity, but nobody with the skills ever applied. This isn't an issue of staff exclusively, but rather a lack of talent willing to work for free. Trust me, if I could conjure a person who knows Invision to my team, I would.

I don't think the admin team really ever put a halt to any of this. From what I recall we were moving pretty quickly through any approvals and discussions, though I had very little to do with this project. You were working with the designer and kept us updated, you had the same level of access to the backend of the site as I did to adjust permissions and other issues, and as far as I knew you were going to Lyon for anything Invision related. Also I never recalled the reason for not wanting things to impact the main site was secrecy, but rather I just didn't want our main website to be broken while this new theme was under construction. I was pretty out of the loop on this outside of what you showed to admin chat. I'm sorry I wasn't able to help more with this but my strong suit isn't web development, and definitely not Invision themes.

The current WIP theme is too broken to work, Lyon is on indefinite hiatus, and nobody has the skills to finish it. Themes for Invision are complicated things that not a lot of people know how to work with. You also ignored my messages for quite a while after you left admin and I tried to figure out where this project was or get access to the assets. I only just got them recently and have shared them with CT who wanted to realign the homepage, and I'm actively looking for web developers but unfortunately for the scope of the work that needs to be done, nobody with necessary skills in the community has stepped forward. I have a general plan but without coders it's not going to happen.

tl;dr our forum software is old and complicated and web development isn't easy

Just. Fix. The. ******* Grahpic... It's not that hard mate. That's a mark on you and the entire administration. You should be embarrassed that you can't even update a single graphic.

  11. Thank you for posting this. The more info I get on this whole situation the more and more annoyed I am by laziness of people at the top. It's ridiculous and I'm frankly surprised LoTC has made it this far, but think of the growth the server would see if someone actually gave a shit.

  12. Since the front page graphic has been updated.

I've tried to bring this to the attention of staff, only for the community admin to tell me, essentially it's "not his problem" because the Tech team is handling it, but here's the thing @HogoBojoit is your problem that graphic shows new people checking out the website that we're such an outdated community we use TEAMSPEAK... Not only that, as the community admin it is your job to champion issues that are important to the community. I've heard from countless players that this is an issue brought up every year and nothing happens. How can you expect a community to be passionate about improving and player retention if you can't even help with some basic issues.

There is a real problem within staff right now. I understand you are all volunteers, I've twice been a GM and I know there's a lot of work that goes into running LoTC, but it doesn't change the fact that people have literally made alternative front page graphics and they were ignored.  It's the front page guys... I know you understand how important a first impression is, so why do you not care about it?

Enough is enough, stop passing the buck down, stop saying it's a tech team issue. Either get the ball rolling like a good community admin or admit your title is nothing more than just that. This is your problem to deal with.

I will also offer my help if you want it Hogo... My complaints don't come without solutions, lets work together if you can't do it on your own. If you ignore the people that are passionate about these things there will be no passion left in the server.

  13. Full removal. Lets bring back trade RP... Not that it matters, the systemic issue is that Staff doesn't care about opinions or even updating the front page graphic for that matter. The community admin position is a joke if no one listens.

  14. Father James begins to write an open letter to the Pontiff

”Your Holiness, thank you. Thank you for your neutrality and continuing to be a supporter of peace where combat is against other Canonists. I pray that your efforts will continue to pay off so that Canonism may thrive amongst humanity.

Please note your efforts have not gone unnoticed within Vienne, and the faithful here are thankful for you.

    In faith,

    Father James of Vienne”

  15. Father James sighs as he bows his head in prayer to a small group of Canonist faithful within Vienne. In nomine Patris, amen

”We know as canonists there are good people on either side. Please continue to pray for peace so there is no need to spill Canonist blood.”

A note is posted on various bulletin boards across Vienne

"The temple of the Eternal flame has been unfortunately damaged, if anyone has info on how this happened please send note to Father James of Vienne. More importantly we are looking for a skilled tradesman to help us in repairing the door. Shameful acts such as damaging Church property are deplorable, but the good that can come from volunteerism shows that this city is still overwhelmingly good."

    -Father James of Vienne

  17. James’ lips curl into a smile upon hearing the news of the opening “ I surely hope my hard work has paid off and that GOD has made all of this timing to lay out a path for me to do this diocese right.” He would say to himself.

  19. How can a layman see the light of GOD without seeing prosperity generated by the Church? Many think of the duties of a priest and stop simply at sacraments, it cannot be understated that sacraments are, and should be the primary focus of the clergy, but we can look to do more to spread the word of GOD.

The best, and most fondly remembered priests were not remembered for the number of times they heard confessions, or the length of their sermons, no, the best and most holy priests went beyond the walls of their chapels and got involved with their community. Look to High Pontiff Lucien III who took part in military strategy to fight for his cause. Look to Saint High Pontiff Everard II, a High Pontiff many regard as one of the greatest who continuously grew the influence of the Church through sitting on diplomatic councils.

The list does not stop with High Pontiffs, many bishops and priests have had lasting impact on their communities that extend far beyond their life. Every clergyman has a strength that GOD himself has seen, it is up to them to use it to be impactful.

I encourage all looking to join the clergy, and many currently within it to ask themselves what they can do more of. Would you best serve by sitting on a local diplomatic council? Maybe you have medical prowess and can help to heal the sick and injured. Perhaps you have a knack for economy and can create more jobs within the city you preach in. The specifics of the task do not matter, what matters is that you are getting out and improving where you live and preach, the way we are intended to do.

By putting in more work, and serving GOD we can grow our faith, we can turn non-believers, and we can make the day to day lives of followers even better.

    In faith,

James Greywell, Acolyte of the faith

  20. Some of the more Liberal laymen of the church find it appropriate to cite the readings of the scrolls in everyday life. To this There is only one response. Would you leave your finest set of porcelain dishware on your front yard unattended? Would you leave your child in the arms of a complete stranger? The church must protect the words from the scrolls and ensure they are only spoken to the laymen in proper context and with adequate description from people who have spent years in study to even be able to read the sacred text.

The scrolls come from a source infinitely more precious than the most precious item or person you can think of, and yet some people believe it is okay to allow everyone including the Pagans and the improperly taught to speak GOD’s words whenever they please so that they may attempt to swing the interpretation. If the church allows for the public to cite the holy scrolls the image of the church is guaranteed to be soiled and made a joke to anyone not devoted enough to listen properly to the Priests, Bishops, and his holiness. The people on the brink of conversion can be turned away due to a false interpretation they heard from someone who intentionally or unintentionally explained a section wrong.

With different interpretations we do not only get people turning away from our church we have people who want to properly follow The Creator going to different false sects which they were deceived to believe were the proper sect. With separate sects we begin to have a conflict that the creator never intended for us. With separate sects we have laymen arguing on the street over something that should only be taken one way, and the church would only have themselves to blame for the mess they themselves have created.

A prime example of why this can be so dangerous can be found during the cross reference of my family’s private library with official Church documents. The library in which I learned the faith was prestigious and has texts passed down and written by former clergy, and although almost entirely accurate there are still some conflicting arguments. Just imagine what might be in the book collection of a less educated family. There is no reasonable way to ensure the Church can govern all unofficial attempts to read the word of GOD.

When you combine all of these factors it should be quite clear that any citation of holy church documents is completely outrageous, and people who do this should be taught immediately why this idea is just entirely wrong. When the laymen need to know something they should talk to a priest who has studied for years to answer any question using the guidance of GOD himself. If the layman has no questions, but wishes to just learn in a proper environment perhaps the layman should ensure they attend mass more often. By limiting who can speak on GOD we are not limiting the teachings of the church, but instead we are making the teachings of the church true and directly meaningful to the faith.

    With GOD,

James Greywell, Acolyte of the faith.
