I personally love the idea of unregioning areas. I provides a whole knew sense of RP for many things. (i.e. People can build a small cabins to live in, and they don't need to know region owners to do so.) I think unregioning will make room for creativity and give people on this server more options. Especially new players, because when I first joined I was frustrated about why I couldn't get wood from a uninhabited area. That had two people "owning" it. I thank everyone that was involved in this choice, because it will greatly improve the role-playing experience I have, and hopefully others appreciate it as much as I do.

A new sign has taken the place of the others. Mali'karin'onn has died. His possessions are lost. The writer of the sign is nowhere to be seen.

Mali'karin'onn walks up to the bulletin board and posts a note. As some of you may know, the Greymarsh was recently destroyed. No buildings survived and the area is now filled with evil stone that is very hard (obsidian) Even though I do not own the Greymarsh I am coordinating an effort to rebuild it. Many homes and shops were destroyed and it will take a while to rebuild. I am looking for volunteers, and workers will not be paid. Reconstruction will begin soon, and donations of supplies will help a ton. Drop donations of by the broken boardwalk, thank you. ((We will hold a meeting at destroyed boardwalk Sunday at 1 PM EST. (New York time) Please help support us.))

Mali'karin'onn walks to the bulletin board and posts yet another add. Hello today I have something to interest you all in. I have four carts of fences, and half a cart of gates. Each cart of fences will be sold for 50 Minas and the half cart of gates will be sold for 30 Minas Send a bird to Mali'karin'onn (freefly376) if you are interested. ((I would just like to clarify I am a travelling merchant, and I sell anything I come across. This is why I'm selling Cocoa Beans, Fences, a shiny blue thing, and hopefully even more random things in the future. Hope this clears up any confusion about why I sell pretty much everything.))
-
Mali'karin'onn looks in the direction of the two, and thinks to himself. Finally some people with sense in this world.
-

Selling Oak Logs In Bulk [Closed]
freefly376 replied to freefly376's topic in Anthos Roleplay Archive
Mali'karin'onn looks at the board and sticks a new poster onto the wall. Due to the lack of interest in purchasing wood, each log has been reduced to the price of One Half of a Mina Send a bird to Mali'karin'onn if you are interested. He turns and starts his journey home. -
Mali'karin'onn walks briskly to the bulletin board and sticks his poster to it. It reads: "Selling six carts of oak logs at 1 mina a log. Send a bird (freefly376) or post a notice if you are interested in buying." He turns and walks away.
-
Simon walks up to the bulletin board and posts his notice. "My friend Mali'karin'onn has recently deceased. In his will he gave me all he owns, as he has no family. I am selling all of his lumber at the following prices. Jungle Wood= 4 minas a log, Oak Wood= 3 minas a log. I have two carts of oak wood and three of jungle wood. Come now before supplies run out. Send me a bird to place your order now. (PM me or msg me in-game with freefly376)"

My first question concerns a character's death. What happens when a player dies? My second question is why can't I destroy any blocks? My final question is why is my hunger not going down?

Out-Of-Character Information Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate. Minecraft Account Name: freefly376 How old are you?: 14 Time-Zone: (-05:00 UTC) Eastern Time US Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I have. What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I role-played all of the elder scrolls games, and I would like to try it in a multiplayer world. How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: It was suggested on the minecraft forums when I was searching for a role-playing server. Link any applications that you have previously made for the server:Jared Lange[denied] http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/90589-application-freefly376/ Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): When I press the post button it says saved post, but when I refresh the page it doesn't appear. I'll try to repost first thing tomorrow. EDIT: I tried to post this morning and I had the same issue. I have messaged a moderator about this, and I am waiting for a response. Have you read the Elven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Yes I have read the eleven lore, I understand it, and I will follow it in my biography. Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: I define role-playing as taking the position of a character that you are not in real life. You act as this character would and not like you would in real life. (example: I am role-playing a thief, and I see a bag of money. In real life I don't take the money, because that is wrong. Role-playing, I take the money, because that is what my character would do.) Meta-gaming: When you use out-of-character information to aid you in game. (example: I watch a youtube video and see a giant fort. Following the route of the youtuber I make my way to the fort and raid it. This is meta-gaming because I didn't find the fort in game.) Power-emoting: When you do something in game that another player is completely helpless about. (example: "I kill Johnny's with a fireball spell. This is power-emoting, because Johnny is helpless to prevent me from killing him. If I weren't power-emoting I would say "I attempt to kill Johnny with a fireball spell.) In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Mali'karin'onn Current Age: 27 Sub-race (if any): High Elf Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): I was born to a high elf mother and father. I was born in a house far outside of Leumalin in the forest. We lived near one other family of wood elves. I grew up with my parents and the neighboring wood elves. The Iblees curse was one of infertility so I grew up with no other children. However, the wood elves' influence in my life did make me more appreciative of nature.(I later became a vegetarian for that reason.) My father taught me how to accomplish everyday tasks like shooting a bow, gathering food, batering and swinging a sword. Two days after I turned 17 I cam home and my mother was sobbing. I rushed in and asked, "What is wrong?" "Your father..." she manages to stammer out in between heavy sobs. "What happened!?" I ask panic starting to rise in me. "He was in his shop like usual... and a thief broke through the door and raided the shop..." Her voice trailed off. "What happened?" I asked panic slowly overtaking me. "He was killed during the raid." She managed before she burst out into sobs. I was torn. I sat in bed for at least two weeks. One day my mother finally came in and told me that we were moving. She told me that the city would be safer than the woods. I don't remember much of the moving week, but I remember moving day. A lot of humans came in and helped us pack the few things that we had. We got in a carriage and we started to head for the city. When we were about halfway there the carriage stopped. "This is the part where we kill you and take all you own," said the driver turning around. He was a muscular orc, and he brandished an axe. He lunged at my mom, and grabbed her. I brought a sword out and turn to face the two humans who had helped us pack. "Watch out!" Yelled the orc, "He's armed!" Instead of attacking the two humans grabbed me and flung me of the cart. The bandits took off into the woods, and I never saw them or my mother again. I was hopelessly lost in the woods with no hope of ever getting out again. I walked for what seamed like years when I gave up. I sat down and knew my life was over. I waited to let death take me when an elf-child came through the bushes. I was shocked. I never thought to see another living being again. Coming to my senses I asked, "Excuse me, do you know where the nearest house is?" "Yes," squeaked the child, obviously delighted that she could help someone, "just follow me." She took my hand and led me through the bushes. When we reached the house the people living in it were very kind and they gave me food, water, and shelter. It turned out the house belonged to the child's parents who took me in and housed me for nine years. I then left for Leumalin to help the people of Mali'nor for what they have given me. This is where I am now. Ambitions for the Future:I dream of one day repaying the people of Mali'nor for what they have given me. I wish to protect the citizens of Mali'nor as a sentinel. I honestly hope that one day my debt will be payed back in full. I wish to have a home, a family, and children, but helping Mali'nor and its citizens takes priority. I also wish to learn more because I am inexperienced. This may include some magic, but I wish to explore the world before I take up studying it. Personality: I would describe myself as a kind and caring person. I would go out of my way to help another. I would consider myself honest, and I will report any offenders immediately. I am loyal to the land and whoever governs it. Skills: I am smart and think before I act most of the time. I am a exceptional fighter at range, and decent in close combat. I am not very good at mining, and I can't build any structures other than a little shack or a small bridge. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin):I have long dark-blonde hair and I wear decent, but worn clothing. Any other details you wish to share about your character: I am a vegetarian because I do not wish to take the life of an innocent animal. I love nature and as a result have grown to dislike humans who erect buildings to compete with it. Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react? Answer: I would walk over to the older elves and say, "What is going on here? Are you mocking this poor child?" I would continue to talk and say, "Do you have no respect for your fellow elves? You should be ashamed of yourself!" I would try to avoid conflict because I do not like to resort to violence unless it is absolutely necessary. I would then walk over to the child and ask, "Are you alright." I would take her hand and walk up to the older elves and say,"I don't ever want to see you mock this child again," I would then lead her to her home. After we reach her home I would part with her, and continue on my way. 2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do? Answer: I would rush up to the man to make sure that he is alright. "Are you alright sir?" I would ask in a gentle tone. I would make sure that he is breathing and that his heart is beating. I would give the man a drink of water after helping him up. I would collect the coins and then I would put the coins back in the pouch. Then, I would give the pouch of minas back to the old man. I would make sure the old man is steady and say, "You best take your time, you don't want to fall like that with nobody around to help you up," I would part with him and continue on my way. 3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved). Answer: I would go over to the man and see if he is selling any food. I would do this because my father was a shopkeeper and I have no idea how to farm for food, and I refuse to hunt for it because I don't eat meat. I would barter with him like this: Shopkeeper: I'll give you five loaves of bread for forty minas. Me: How about I pay you twenty-five for the bread? Shopkeeper: I'm sorry I have to make a profit I'll come down to thirty-five minas. Me: Would you come down to thirty? Shopkeeper: I could do that. Do you need anything else? Me: No that will be all. (pay shopkeeper for the bread) After buying my bread I would part with the merchant, and then I would leave.

Out-Of-Character Information Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate. Minecraft Account Name: freefly376 How old are you?: 14 Time-Zone: UTC -05:00 Eastern Time US Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes the rules make sense and I agree to them. What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I play almost all of the games I buy in a role-playing fashion. I only train skills that my character would actually use, and I abide by strict role-playing rules. How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: I googled minecraft roleplay server. Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: N/A Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): Yes Have you read the Human lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Yes, I promise I will follow it in my biography. Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: When you take up the position of a character that you are not in real life. You act and speak like this character would and not like you would in real life. Meta-gaming: When you use OOC knowledge to benefit you in game. (example: I find a map of a city online, and I use it to find the nearest trader. This is meta-gaming because I found the trader OOC and went to him without discovering him in game.) Power-emoting: When you do things that you couldn't do in real life. In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Jurgen Lange Current Age: 24 Sub-race (if any): Northerner Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): I was born and raised by two parents. For the first two years of my life it was uneventful. My dad was an innkeeper and I brought firewood in for the guests. Then I had a little brother. I grew up and my dad taught me how to chop down trees, and use a sword. I helped my dad from age seven to age fourteen. When I turned fifteen, bandits attacked our inn they burnt it to the ground and killed my family. I only survived because I was chopping wood when it happened. I took shelter in a nearby village for a few days. When I returned I found a few things that had remained mostly untouched in our basement. I found a few paintings, and I found our strongbox. I used all 100 minas from the box to hire a group of mercenaries to kill the bandits. I still feel guilty sometimes for the bandits lives, but then I remember what they did and all guilt is driven away. I wandered pointlessly for some years trading for what I needed. It was this past year that I planned out my life. Ambitions for the Future: I dream of running an in one day, and maybe learning a little more than I already know. I hope of having a beautiful wife and two equally wonderful children. Personality: I would consider myself a kind and caring person. I don't like to resort to violence, but I can and will fight if it is necessary. Skills: I have a sharp tongue, and a good blade arm. I am good at building things and I can chop down trees. I am not good at mining. I am smarter than most other people and will often think before I act. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): I have medium length light brown hair. Brown eyes, and decent clothing. Any other details you wish to share about your character: I suffered an injury as a child when I tripped down the stairs. I sprained my left wrist and have never been much good at mining as a result. I am right handed Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do? Answer: First I would make sure he is up to no good. I don't want to get an innocent person arrested. If I confirm that he is up to no good I would briskly walk to the nearest guard. I would tell the guard what I saw and go back home hoping that the guards deal with the figure. 2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react? Answer: I quietly sneak around the clearing. I then come out of the trees and attempt to reason with the bandits. I will attempt to pay the bandits to leave the old man alone. I this doesn't work I will stand my ground and fight them. I will protect the old man and attempt to fight the bandits off. Even though violence would be my last resort nobody should underestimate my sword arm. 3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens). Answer: I would see if he has an extra axe for sale, and haggle with him to get the price as low as possible. I will come up as little as possible in price and will argue with him until I get the price that I think I deserve. I would also see if he has any food for sale, because I do not hunt. I would pay a fair price for the food, because I need it more than a spare axe. ME: Are you crazy? Who in their right mind would pay 100 minas for an iron axe? Merchant: An axe is an essential tool. Without it harvesting wood is next to impossible. Me: I already have an axe. This is just a spare. I'll pay you 50 minas for it. Merchant: I'm sorry I can't do that I'll sell it for 80 minas. Me: My axe is in great condition. I can walk away right now. I'll give you 60. Merchant: I can come down to seventy. Me: If I can't get it for 60 I'll find someone who can give it to me for that. Merchant: Alright I'll do sixty. Is there anything else you want. Me: Yes I could use some food. Merchant: I'll sell you five steak for thirty minas. Me: That is reasonable enough.
