Are you still accepting? I might consider if IRL things work out...

I'll definitely think about it!

Rhoslyn smiles as she watches several birds land around her. After inspecting each of the letters the birds possess, she sends them back to their owners, bearing a new message: Thank you kindly, I will let you know my exact plans in the near future! -Rhoslyn
-
Rhoslyn Briouse looks over her shoulder in feigned composure before sliding several flyers under the doors of nearby houses. Each one bears a simple, handwritten message: Greetings, I've found myself in a tricky situation, and as a result, I'll need a place to stay in a few elven weeks ((starting November 27th or so)). If you can help me, please send a bird my way. Pay and exact details will be negotiated then. -Rhoslyn Briouse
-
Rhoslyn wordlessly reads the poster several times and finally shrugs. She takes a quill out of her satchel and scribbles the following in surprisingly neat handwriting: I have a few plans for the future, but if all of them go awry, I might just join your crew. -Rhoslyn Briouse

All about Anthos, small handwritten messages are rolled up and tied to doorknobs and windows of past Abresi Apparel customers, bearing the following message: Dear loyal customer, I'm sorry to inform you that my tailoring business is closing for at least several elven months, and possibly forever. I will finish current orders, but no new requests will be filled during this period. I'm dreadfully sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. Always, Maehr Len

Hoblo's Road-Side Art Shop! (Guess Whos Artshop Is Back)
--- replied to CombatRolePlay's topic in Anthos Roleplay Archive
Maehr skips up to the roadside artist and inspects his work carefully. "You are a truly gifted painter, sir! Would you mind if you drew me? I can pay you 400 minas or I can make a set of clothes for you. It's up to you." Maehr Len is a petite wood elfess. She has fairly dark skin that contrasts her bright eyes and smile. Her wavy, honey-blonde hair is nearly hip length. She wears an elegant blue-green dress and emerald earrings. ---OOC--- Sorry... I can't seem to put pictures up on the forums... http://www.minershoes.com/skin/view/i526bfba6c7654919260505598121011914 I also made this skin for Maehr, so use this as a measure to my current skill in skinning :) -

This sounds AWESOME guys!! Keep it up :) One teensy request, though: In my short-ish time on LotC, I've had lots of problems with the properties I've owned. Shops and houses have been sold out under me, ripped down without my consent, or nearly taken over by a 3rd party-type group. It's not like I didn't pay for these properties or was a bad tenant- I followed every rule in the book! I don't really know the rules to reporting players or getting help from a GM, so this has been a major problem for me. There has to be a nice plugin or something that can make land ownership easier to prove and manage. I will be FOREVER GRATEFUL if you can somehow fix how land is run so people can't do this anymore!!

Maehr sees the notes pinned up to the poster and rips a few pages from her sketchbook, placing them there as well. She scribbles a note in the corner claiming these are some of her favorite projects she's completed recently. http://www.minershoes.com/skin/view/i5244fc3a7c6054185736981798182101819184 http://www.minershoes.com/skin/view/i5252198f8e5585502712246498502105019504 http://www.minershoes.com/skin/view/i5233d8d12e8815105716037798102101019104 http://www.minershoes.com/skin/view/i522d102e1dea45278699851898272102719274 She reads Sonn Ander's order, nods, and pins a little note next to it: "Thank you very much- I will contact you shortly!"

With a small frown on her face, Maehr begins to tear down all the applications that have been hung in her store. She then tacks a small note to the wall in the same location, reading: Abresi Apparel is currently sorting itself out after a few major setbacks. As of now, we are no longer hiring. I'm terribly sorry for any inconveniences this action has caused. Always, Maehr Len

THANK YOU for all the submissions- I'm waiting for a few last people who I know are interested, so I'll be able to actually hire soon!

Power-emoting: The abuse of the chat bar to role play for other characters. For example, writing *Bob hurls Steve off of a cliff* is power-emoting. Meta-gaming: Using knowledge acquired outside of the game to make decisions inside the game to gain advantage. In-Character Information Full name: Maehr Len Current Age: 376 years old Sub-race: Wood Elf (mail’ame) Past/History: I was raised in an unprivileged family on the very outskirts of Malinor. From a young age, I was taught to be the kindest, wisest, happiest person I possibly could. My proud parents supplied me the best education they could with their very limited budget, which developed my endless thirst for knowledge that I possess today. Almost 354 years ago, my father was murdered by a band of Orcs that he owed money to. Of course, this tragic incident crushed my growing spirit and forced me to work for pocket change instead of educate myself. My mother, though, was the most damaged by the incident. She was so overcome with grief that she eventually went insane. Her sickness became so severe that she became violent towards me and I was forced to leave our humble home, filled with anger and regret. Elevating my unhappiness even further, I was informed a year after the murder by a family friend that my father had been stealing to feed my mother and I. To pacify my overwhelming guilt about this, I often give food away to strangers or those in need. I occasionally visit my mother, and supply her with food that I gather from my earnings as an arching mentor. Currently, I am mentoring two young elves that show great skill and desire to be master archers. I am sure I have become the successful elf that my parents wanted me to be. I am a well respected figure in Elfish society, a member of an elite archer club, and have many supportive friends and students. Even so, I still retain a strong desire to get revenge upon the fiendish Orcs that took the life of my father and damaged my mother. I do not hate the Orc race as a whole, however, and still show respect to them whenever possible. Ambitions for the future: Again, I would like to seek revenge on the monsters that hurt my family. I would also like to see my students become great archers and perhaps learn about and explore the realms of Anthos with them. I would like to be educated in all subjects, firstly magic. Personality: I believe I am a very kind, gentle person that has been scarred from my dark past. I am ambitious and expect my students to be the same. I covet wisdom and knowledge, and would love to learn as much as possible in my lifetime. I am usually patient and generous, but if I spot an evil deed being committed, I do not hold back harsher words. Skills: My father, one of the best archers in all of the Elfish lands, taught me everything he knew. I am also very adept at the art of persuasion and deception, but I only use these skills to benefit others. Appearance: I am a dirty blonde with deep cocoa brown skin. I have green-blue eyes. I always try to incorporate my favorite color, green, into my outfit, but I refuse to dye my hair. Any other details you wish to share about your character: I want to live in a home similar to the one I grew up in. My trusted students and I will share a house and spend our days practicing archery and magic, and learning all we can. Open Response Questions 1) I once was taught a trick by a wise old elf (who was a stranger to me) on how to separate an innocent person from a bad situation when he saved me this same way! First, I would pause for a moment and come up with a fib that would allow me to peacefully retrieve the child and detach him from the situation. Then, I would dash into the group of elves and exclaim, “Where were you!? You had your mother worried sick! Come, she's looking for you over there” and lead the child briskly away. On the off chance they grab the child’s hand and prevent me from escorting him out, the following would likely occur: Me: Excuse me, but this child is clearly needed by his mother. We must go now- your silly bickering will have to wait. Older Elf: Our “silly bickering” was no laughing matter. Ayla, here, owes us a gold ingot. Ayla (younger elf): He’s lying! *Looks at me with a sincere expression* I promise you I didn’t do anything wrong! Please! I can’t pay for it! Me: *Hands Older Elf a book in payment* Older Elf: What is this?! I want gold! Me: This book and the lesson I am teaching you are much more valuable than any amount of gold I could give you. Remember this the next time you are in this same position. I trust you will choose the right thing. *Leads Ayla wordlessly away* 2) I would waste no time in gathering the gold coins and stowing them in my own pockets as I swiftly carry the elder to safety. As we near the nearest home, I do a quick scan of the elf and feel to see if he is breathing. Me: Help! Can anyone revive this old man? Random Elf: I have basic medical knowledge- perhaps I can assist you. What happened to him? *Inspects the old man’s limp body* Me: He fell ill on the trail and I don’t know how to save him. After several healing potions and help from several neighbors, we would manage to save the old man’s life. Before letting him continue on his way down the path, I would insure he was recovered fully and return to him his gold. 3) My first instinct would be to ask about any enchanted bows or magical items that he has. Me: Hello! I am Maehr Len. I am interested in buying any high quality bows you have for sale. Trader: Arg, I be sure to fix ye up with ye bow. Enchanted bows costs plenty, if ye be willin’ ti pay. Me: I have one diamond in my pocket, and I believe it has your name on it Trader: A fair bargain. Ye be a straightshootn’ with yer price. Me: And hopefully the same with this bow. Thank you, sir.

There, I search for an elf that knows who he is or how to revive him. If nothing works and he passes away, I will give the money to any elves in need that I know of. 3) My first instinct would be to ask about any enchanted bows or magical items that he has. In return, I often pay traders like him in wisdom or any valuable ores I have on hand. I consider a fair trade to be one enchanted bow (level nine) for three diamonds, 12 gold, or answers to any 3 philosophical questions he has.
