Guard forces that leverage their OOC numbers and call PvP default to circumvent valid RP situations are perpetuating the problem of PvP goons.

That does make it seem more understandable, but technically you could have killed the dude to who's neck you were holding the knife, and then the others would have killed you. That's totally acceptable in terms of realism and RP. Knockout plugin would mean he could be saved though, but the problem isn't really in the PvP.

@Raomir @Hero_Prodigy Neither of you are understanding the point. IC, there would have been no way for them to save the person they wanted to without cooperating. Instead, they're allowed to call "PvP Default" and completely circumvent all Roleplay up to that point. If the hostage was killed and they retaliated by killed me, the person being held hostage would have been killed as well as the attacker. And I wasn't even participating in the Roleplay, I was watching. Still made it very ****. It's akin to someone going through the trouble of putting themselves in the perfect position through weeks of OOC time Roleplay so that when the king opens the door and is met with an assassin holding a crossbow, he just calls PvP default and manages to weasel his way out of the situation. I enjoy PvP just as much as anyone else, I've been PvPing this entire time I've been guideline struck. Doesn't change the fact that we're on a Roleplay server and people using PvP to get out of a Roleplay situation is scummy.
