Out-Of-Character Information
What’s your Minecraft Account Name?:
Zephyora
How old are you?:
I’d prefer to keep this private, thank you! I assure you I’m old enough to be playing.
What time-zone do you live in?:
Eastern. UTC -5:00 to be specific.
Have you ever roleplayed before - if you have, how?:
I have! Through text-based mediums primarily, and a little bit of LARP.
Have you been on any other roleplaying servers?:
Nope. Not yet anyways.
Have you applied to this server before?:
Again, nope.
How did you hear about us?:
Youtube. Your little elves tiptoeing through the tulips video.
What do you think the server will be like?:
Let’s try to make this original, I’m sure you’re all sick of seeing ‘Fun’. Actually, I bet most of you don’t even read this answer, do you? Anyways, I’m personally expecting a more relaxed roleplay medium than what I usually deal with, seeing as there’s a visual which decreases the need for external details in emotes (but not eliminates it!).
Have you read and agreed to the rules?:
Duh.
What’s your favourite rule / the rule you agree with the most?:
Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. That’s not a rule. Personally, I love the powergaming rule. It kinda kills when someone messes with another person’s character.
Definitions
What is roleplaying?:
To me, it’s living a story. You breath, your character breaths. You’re creating history every day, why not have it be in a different environment? Throw in magic, swords, beasts, elves, dwarves, Kharajyr, and you have quite an interesting concoction.
What’s metagaming?:
Oh ick. Acting like your character knows something that you know OOCly. Sir, I sincerely doubt you know the structure of DNA in a medieval-esque roleplay environment, thank you very much. It also encompasses using OOC means of communication to get people to do things, which is a no-no, and the vice-versa: taking IC events into OOC, i.e. getting pissed ‘cuz someone killed your character. Not coo’ man.
What’s powergaming?:
An incarnation of one of the circles of Hell? No, maybe not. The basic term applies to forcing another’s character to act, i.e. not allowing them to control their own character. Another term for it, although typically called godmodding, is making your character a Gary Stu: good at everything, always wins.
In-Character Information
What’s your character called?:
Kenzari Elwyn
What race are they?:
Mali’aheral AKA High Elf.
What sex are they?:
Female.
How old are they?:
136
Give us a brief description of their Life:
Kenzari’s parents, by all Mali’aheral standards, were impure. They abandoned the pure life-style of Haelun’or to live among the common elves, and even stooped so low as to live among humans at some point in their lives. Still, there were smart people. For over a century they caravanned through Asulon and Anthos; when the storm came that wiped out Asulon they took the boats alongside all of the others, to the isle of Elysium and farther. However, one isn’t concerned with Kenzi’s parents, but her life.
Growing up in a caravan was interesting to say the least. They often didn’t have a proper bed, it was cold, they were always moving, and they met with strange people. Kenzi enjoyed herself, but that didn’t mean she didn’t feel something missing. She knew there was some missing link, something her parents weren’t telling her, and there had to be a reason they always avoided the High Elf cihi.
No matter how hard she tried, Kenzi could never shake this feeling. She learned some interesting things from the troubadours and performers all the same: how to properly hit a high note, how to find one’s way, and most importantly how to write and read. However, the only thing she was taught in the way of fighting was that if someone came at her, stab him. She was given a dagger by her father and kept it well into adulthood. Now that she has reached such an age, she is determined to go visit Haelun’or, which she’s been curious about since a young girl.
What are they like?:
Kenzi is a girl. She likes long walks on the beach, moonlit knights, unicorns, and knitting. In fact, she once went on a moonlit jaunt upon the shoreline and found a unicorn, which she proceeded to stab with a crochet needle (props to anyone who gets the reference). Jokes aside, she’s extremely curious. She loves to learn, and has a quick learning curve. On the downside, her curiosity can get her into trouble, poking her nose where it doesn’t belong.
What are their ambitions?:
At the moment, Kenzi desires to go find the other mali’aheral and learn what it is that her parents kept so private from her. After that, she’s always had a fascination for the flash and bang of magic, but she’d more likely fall into learning how to actually fight with a real weapon, instead of a toothpick.
Do they have any special skills?:
She’s a talented singer, fluent writer, excellent linguist, and has a high learning curve. Kenzi also possesses remedial dagger skill, although not enough to hold her own against a real warrior.
What are their weaknesses?:
She isn’t a very talented fighter, which she hopes to change. She also happens to have a particular distaste for her own reflection, although how that might possibly be used against that is a mystery even to me.
Give us a description of how they look?:
Locks of brown, eyes of violet, I tried to make a poem, it didn’t work. Seriously though, she has brunette hair and purplish-violet eyes, pale skin (as is customary with high elves), and is rather short in stature for her race, only six-foot even.
Anything else you want to say about them?:
Yes: she is not a strong, independent black woman, but that doesn't mean she needs a man.
