nothing more ignorant has been said

Unnecessary and unhelpful comment. Alchemy is little more than mixing together dried plant bits and doing so with a greater understanding of the material alphabet. It's incredibly simple and people pretending it isn't is just trying to perpetuate dumb circlejerks by people who don't want to share

near things that are innately made of the purest form of the material plane

I mean youre the big lore man but I've never felt like alchemy was actually the "purest form" of the material plane. Its literally just mashing plants and **** together. And, the material alphabet insinuates that everything in the material world is made up of these symbols, and that some stuff is just more potent. Why would Void magic just make the ones that are mixed together in a very specific way explode? Steel is a mix of items that likely possess these same symbols, but Void magic doesnt make it explode. I get where you're coming from but it just seems like a really ultra specific thing that wasn't entirely thought out. I appreciate that it's an attempt to solve a problem but I think it's overshot a bit and needs to be way more refined

edit: personally I am just opposed to forcing a divide in lore which would only encourage cliquey behavior and prevent the intermixing of lore groups. people will always find a way to minmax, this doesnt make sense in the loreverse imo and doesn't add anything, only takes away from rp

  4. Juniper Wick sat in a small room, the dim light of a low burning lantern casting ugly shadows across her face. She stared with her milk-white eyes at the wall, a scowl painted across her face. One hand gripped the arm of her chair, the other turning a silver ring over and over in her fingers. She sat there all night, awake and silent, contemplating. Many a thought passed through her mind that night, but one rang louder than the rest, repeating every so often.

    ...It's nearly time...

  5. Liliac Hazmezul mopes in the tall tower that housed her bedroom, laying on her bed and clutching the missive while she gazed out her window with great dramatics. Had she not been confined to a castle far outside of Orenian borders, she would have enjoyed learning ballet. Instead, she was stuck learning the pipe organ with a decrepit tutor who smacked her fingers with a reed whenever she made mistakes. She made plans to complain about such to both her sister and their grandfather.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Musin are a beastfolk subrace of the Ratiki, who have long since fled to Almaris and have a mysterious past with a figure known as the Giant. They are the smallest of all known races, ranging from 1'8 to 2'6, and appear much like common mice, though stand on their hind legs with some human-like features. Their bodies are faces are covered in a fluffy layer of fur, with their hands, feet, and tails being hairless. Their coloring is that of most natural colors: black, white, brown, tan, and gray. Musin can also have 'fancy' coloring, meaning a mix of usually 2 of these colors. Their tails are smaller than a Ratiki's, being relative to their stature, and they lack the fangs of their rat cousins. Musin must still gnaw on things to keep their teeth from becoming overgrown and sharp. A musin's diet largely favors sweet and crunchy foods, with meats being much less favored. Additionally, too much raw meat, as well as dairy products, will make a musin sick. Musin reach physical maturity at age 12, and most commonly live to around 70, with the oldest known Musin living to 78. They are a very clean race, grooming themselves one to two times a day, either with their hands or a comb. A Musin who does not regularly groom themselves can become susceptible to disease.

Culturally, they're a peaceful race, though have a strong inclination to 'recycle' from others. They will often 'borrow' things from other places and races, and due to their size, much of their clothing, belongings, and structures are created from these repurposed items. Physically, a Musin is at a great disadvantage in combat. While considerably dexterous and agile, a single hit can be enough to mortally wound a Musin. Due to their size, a dagger is like a sword, a shortsword much like a greatsword, and bows almost completely inaccessible or unusable to them. These factors have forced Musin to be a pacifist race, often better off completely avoiding combat than trying to scramble away to save their lives. In addition to their small stature, some physical differences are their advanced hearing and sensitive eyesight. While not blind in sunlight, their vision is significantly reduced (24 blocks), while under cloudcover or nightfall, they can see normally (48 blocks). Their increased hearing causes suddden, loud noises to startle Musin, and they are capable of hearing high pitched noises that most other races cannot.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

Sunflower is a young Musin of light gray and white-tawny coloring. She is 2' tall, and wears mismatched, hand made clothing that has been patched several times. She often choses to forego proper Musin shoes, instead opting for simple foot wraps.

Solana flashes Celia a thumbs up and slaps on a pair of oversized protective eyewear.. She flips a comically sized lever, firing up her newest invention: The Alchemist's-Fire-inator. Time to make a buck.
