Welcome to The Academic Union!

~The Academic Union~ «FOUNDING» ‣BEGINNINGS Throughout the Realm of Atlas, and those before, knowledge has been very disorganized. Libraries have held knowledge exclusively, unwilling to share most with anyone but themselves. Academies have formed to give those interested education, but have charged more than what the teachings were worth. Upon request of The Kingdom of Haense and The Republic of Holm, Azkel ‘The Scholar’ Frostbeard, along with a council of brilliant scholars including Queen Elizaveta of Haense and Caius Rubens , have formed The Academic Union, a group focused on uniting education, research, and the history of our peoples, into a single union. ‣PRINCIPLES The Academic Union operated on a set of principles which defines all that it stands for. The principles were made to guide all those within the union, and are to followed during all union matters: » All Union Members must act Professionally within any Union-Owned Areas, or on any Official Business involving the Union » Union Members are to not Harm a Fellow Member or a Civilian, unless in Self Defense, or to Stop a Potential Threat to the Union, and/or its Holdings. » Union Members are required to follow All Local Laws, and are to Not Act above Such Laws. » The Grandmaster of the Union has the final say in all Union matters. The Council below him holds the Authority to decide on Union matters, if the Grandmaster is not Present. » The Union is expected to share All Knowledge found with all Branches upon request, Unless told otherwise by the Council or Grandmaster. » The Union will accept Scholarly Guilds who wish to Join, and shall let such Guilds keep their TItles, as well as Gaining New Titles from The Academic Union » Above all else, the Union’s Goal is to Spread Knowledge throughout the Realm, giving Access of Public Knowledge to All who wish to Learn » While the Union does Approve of the Use of Magic, The Union shall not Teach, or Approve of Dark Arts within its Holdings or Business. » All actions by Union Members on their Personal Time are of no Interest, nor Concern to the Union. «ORGANIZATION» ‣COUNCIL The Academic Union’s leadership consists of the Grandmaster, and the Heads of each department. The five, together, make all important decisions within the Union. The Council of Union | Leadership, Unity, & Growth The Council of Union are the best within their respective fields. Working together, they make all decisions involving the Union, and what is in its best interests. Grandmaster - The Grandmaster of The Academic Union is the head of all operations and departments. They are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Union, with the help of the council. Councilor - The Councilors of the Union are the heads of each department, as well as those the Grandmaster has appointed to advise. They are responsible for running their respective departments, and advising the Grandmaster. ‣DEPARTMENTS The Academic Union is made up of four different departments, each overseeing one of the main tasks the Union performs: The Keepers of Scientia | History, Knowledge, & Artifacts The Keepers of Scientia are those who have documented, learned about, and kept artifacts, tomes, stories, and many other different writings and items. The Keepers are those who run libraries and museums, known for their knowledge in most, if not all topics. Master Keeper - The Master Keeper of Scientia is an individual who has shown their dedication to the keeping of knowledge and artifacts, as well as their abilities in helping the people of the realm. The Master Keeper is responsible for overseeing all activities within The Keepers, as well as running the main library. Elder Keeper - The Elder Keepers are what resembles the council within The Keepers, helping the Master Keeper make decisions throughout the branch, as well as running the secondary libraries throughout the realm. Keeper - The Keepers are those who assist in the organization and day-to-day operations of Union Libraries, Museums, and any other places which display knowledge. Scribe - The Scribes are those wishing to learn and join the ways of the keepers, expanding their common knowledge, organizational skills, and communication with others. The Professors of Academia | Teaching, Enlightening, & Mastering The Professors of Academia are the best teachers within their respected fields, having gone through rigorous training and mastery to be able to teach the minds of today. Head Magister - The Head Magister of Academia, is the overseeing master of academics. They are responsible for the upkeep, recruitment, scheduling, and any other functions within any of the Union’s multiple schools. Magister - The Magisters are those incharge of the individual schools. A Magister is appointed to each school, assigned with ensuring that its day-to-day activities go along smoothly. Praeceptor - The Praeceptor , otherwise known as a Professor, are the teachers within the Union. They are responsible for enlightening the minds of those who seek to learn within the Union, and should perform their work in the best of their ability. Student - The Students of the Union are those who wish to learn about any of the prospective fields the Union teaches. The Researchers of Incognita | Discovering, Experimenting, & Learning The Researchers of Incognita are the ones who strive to find the unknown, the undiscovered, the secrets hidden in the world around us. They seek to further their knowledge, while collecting information for both those within the Union, and the descendants as a whole. Director - The Director of Incognita is an individual who has proven themselves to be able to pinpoint key places worth of researching, handling multiple people both within Union grounds and abroad, as well as distributing information throughout the Union. The Director is to oversee the entirety of the Researchers of Incognita, and is to answer directly to the Grandmaster. Indagator - The Indagators, also known as researchers, are those who travel the realm to gather new information for both the Union, and the realm. While they may have more specific tasks within the Union, they are all compiled into the Indagator rank. Discipuli - The Discipuli are those who have newly joined, and are still in training. Most of their time is spent organizing the research of Indagators, but most do not spend long with this title. The Emissaries of Omnis | Relations, Diplomacy, & Guidance The Emissaries of Omnis strive to strengthen the relations of the Union with the rest of the realm, meeting with leaders, citizens, and potential members. The Emissaries are expected to be able to make smart decisions, using their words to strengthen ties with others. High Emissary - The High Emissary is responsible for all diplomatic relations of The Academic Union. Most important meetings are held by either the Grandmaster, or the High Emissary. The High Emissary is to also oversee the Emissaries below them. Emissary - The Emissaries of Omnis are responsible for maintaining relations for nations in which the Union works with. They are usually stationed within each of these nations, holding residence there. Orator - Orators are those who wish to join the ranks of the Emissaries.
