  1. Anyone with some expertise in musical theater/acting willing to give some audition tips? Or people who listen to musical soundtracks who can recommend tunes to sing.

I have minimal experience in the field of drama, but am fairly decent at music.

Hi! Always depends on what level you are auditioning but I assume this is for high school or college. When I wake up I will try to come back and give some more.

A huge thing to remember is LESS IS MORE. 45-60 is all you need. If you are giving the casting director 2mins but only  half of it is material you are truly confident in then cut it down.

Eye up your competition and try to be better than them at one incredibly pivotal part of the desired part you want. Whether it's practicing your voice, movements or line delivery. Just make yourself more noticeable and more fit for the part you desire.

      Good luck!!

      - Plant your feet.

      - If you haven't rehearsed it till you can do it backwards then DO IT MORE

      - Read the dang play!

      - Smile, put the charm on

      - Pick a single part, pick a song that you feel represents that part and GO GO GO for it.

Remember that this life isn't ended by the word "no" so if you don't get cast so what? You have to be the one to tell yourself "yes yes yes."

Dress nicely but not too formally. Wear an outfit that you would wear to an interview and one that you feel great in.

AND DO NOT APOLOGIZE! BE CONFIDENT YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND DESERVE THAT ROLE

As for song choices I don't know women's songs too well but I can definitely help look for a bit. What is the show & what is your part?
