can someone argue in favor of nation leaders and the immediate orbiters around them having positions as staff? Is that not a conflict of interests? Genuinely curious, not trying to stir the pot. I’m open to hearing arguments in favor of such because I can’t think of any myself – but present the case and I may very well change my mind! Thanks lads.

  You’re absolutely right. I feel like, especially in the case of Moderation Team, the members should stay away from nation privy councils. Else we certainly get a conflict of interests.

  it just seems incredibly biased. I know both sides of the most recent war have been pretty damn toxic at points (and as such, I stay strictly neutral), but me wanting an unbiased staff team should not be perceived as me taking sides.

  they banned nation leaders from being staff years ago for this reason, but yeah now it seems like half of every privy is a GM and you have to wonder does it not just amount to the same thing
  
  dunno what to say though – if you bar anyone in a nation’s leadership from staff, not only are you barring quite a large portion of the playerbase, but, by virtue of their position as leaders, you’re also barring one of the most active and competent segments of it too.
