How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: I was searching on some minecraft servers list for a dedicated RP server, and found this. It looks solid. What is metagaming?: Knowing things your character shouldn't, because he doesn't have the know-how in the world you're roleplaying-in. It can also be using OOC information or channels to further your character goals (Like asking your friend over Teamspeak to tell you a good mine or to save you from bandits) More examples: You're playing a pedantic noble who has never done anything for himself and you craft yourself some armor, build an awesome house and grow some crops. Another example would be knowing who killed you and taking revenge, even though your character should have forgot it. What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Forcing another character to do something in a roleplay without his consent (Example: *Balag-Ur strikes Faelin's head with his hammer, killing him before he can protect himself*) or doing unrealistic things, like being able to take on 4 enemies head-on. Mountain Dwarf Character’s age: (upon application, your character must be 18 or older, and depending on the race, they can be over five hundred years old!) 60 Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.) Ulrik was born in the city of Kal' Nikaer, in the eve of 1523. His mother was a farmer from Vaerhaven and his father was a miner turned merchant from Tal' Ardoth. The last child of his family, he only saw his older brothers and sisters during festivals because they were far older than him. He worked with his father initially as a miner, and later on as his assistant merchant. While he always felt an admiration for him, after working as his partner he realized his bosses, the cave dwarves of the Goldhand clan, were selling him far worse prices than they should. After a long, hard argument, he left his home at the age of 20 and decided to start anew as a merchant in Kal' Nikaer, but suffered many hardships and struggle because of a plague of Silverfish who infested his mine, eventually forcing him to abandon it. He wandered the city, doing small errands as a wannabe merchant. Eventually, he left, moving to Tal' Ardoth, being assaulted by bandits on the way and losing his last savings. However, he ran away and followed the bandit band, eventually attacking the leader in a tavern after they had split up, recovering most of his savings but losing his right eye in the brawl. After arriving in Tal' Ardoth, he became a sellsword, initially working with a small band as a mine guard, taking care of beasts who lurked in mines for their owners' profit. Later on, he became a guard for a couple caravans, but attacked a town guard of a small village on the border who mocked him for his lack of an eye, this ended in his dismissal and forced him to work for shadier individuals, as a small time rustler and brawler, extorting money from illegal merchants. After his boss found out by one of Ulrik's ''friends'' that he called him ''Lil' Picky'', he was forced to leave town and hide for a good while. Nowadays, he's looking for a decent job in whatever he can find for a living. He's always felt identified with the dwarves who were forced to leave Vailor, and likes their entrepreneurship, willing to take whatever job necessary to have a living. He hasn't picked a patron yet. Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) He likes leather, those humble or pragmatic, engineers and people who are Jacks of All Trades. He loves a good pork stew, ale and snow, but detests thunderstorms. He dislikes those who care too much for the weak, pacifists, the Goldhand clan and those too arrogant or egotistical. He's a cynic and sees the Kirkja Dverga with disdain, although he respects the Brathmordakin greatly. He's afraid of Ghouls, Khaz'A'Dentrumm and he hates Silverfish. He's very superstitious. Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) Ulrik has always been quite pragmatic, he was quite ambitious in the past, but nowadays he's settled for a comfy house, some servants, a nice position in a cozy town and a fair maiden. If he can acomplish something great in the process, he'll be more than happy. He'd like to have a couple more adventures as a sellsword to the highest bidder, and he'll brawl with whoever tries to mock his lack of an eye, if he has to prove he's a good fighter. Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) He's capable to recognize ores and mine them without much work, and he knows a bit about haggling. Since his travels, he's become quite capable at combat, after many brawls. He's also a great singer and very soft spoken and quick with his hands. Since he's had to fend for himself young, he's a swift learner and not reluctant to adopt new techniques and not too proud to avoid doing rough works. Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Since he lost an eye, he's been deemed incapable by his old employers and nowadays he roams the land looking for a new job from the higest bidder. He's also very stubborn and resilient to open himself to others, since he's become a cynic after his travels. Not very helpful to those in need, believeing everyone should take care of himself, he mocks those who care too much for the weak. His big mouth and high temper have caused him to get into many brawls and lose good jobs and employers, even being pursued by the law a couple times. Also, he doesn't know how to work metal, and that's why he sports a leather armor. He's reluctant to adopt a metal armor because he's too greedy to pay a smithy. Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) He's 4 feet tall, has brown eyes and almond beard. He sports a leather armor he picked in Tal Ardoth' during one of his many travels, and his trusty old boots of dwarven craftmanship. He has a black leather eyepatch on his right eye, sporting a wound he picked during his first battle ever. His chest is also scarred with many wounds he picked during his battles as a sellsword.
