  1. Einar Edvardsson PogChamps for a moment after reading the stray letter that blew into his direction. He uses the letter as kindling for a fire because it is cold in the North. He goes back to chopping logs to get big and strong so that he can defeat his inner demons.

  2. People are only looking at the grooming aspect of this ordeal, but there's more to it as well. There is nothing genuinely productive about having sex roleplay, whether implied or explicit, on the server and it's very distasteful. This is a Minecraft roleplaying server where the focus is on the fantasy and a server narrative (even if the server narrative only involves small communities). Sexual roleplay is inappropriate for the server not only due to there being minors, but the very nature of it as well. If someone wants a child, just say you have one. It is that easy. We don't emote every time we piss, poo, eat, drink, walk, run. These are assumed actions. Lord of the Craft should not be a server where people lead up to sex FTB with sexually suggestive emotes, even if they're not downright explicit. It invites people who will walk the line in regard to sexual roleplay so they can get away with it.

In regard to grooming, sexual FTBs do not automatically cause grooming by existing. They do, however, welcome an opening for predatory behaviour to manifest on LotC's platforms. It is something that we hear time and time again. Perpetrators use the intimate nature of sexual-natured roleplay to develop a very personal bond with the victim. This is extremely effective, not only against victims who base the personality and traits of their character on themselves but those who feel wanted or loved by the attention that they are receiving because a lot of players use LotC as an outlet because they are lonely in real life. It is our responsibility as a community to safeguard our vulnerable against predatory individuals and systems. By removing this opening, it is taking a proactive step into limiting the predatory bonds that come about because of this intimate roleplay. The claim that such a change takes away control from Moderation and Administration is entirely misguided. Moderation and Administration are still capable of being proactive. They are able to check Omniscience logs for inappropriate behaviour, as usual. They are able to check /lonelies to see people uncomfortably close to each other, possibly AFKing, as usual. They are able to implement new rules that help them to take a better stance against these types of behaviours and dissuade them from happening like putting a hard ban on using played characters from LotC in off-platform sexual roleplay, even among adults. And, of course, Administration and Moderation Management can actually be proactive when handling the reports that they receive, take every single one seriously, and do thorough investigations into them (who knew that beloved staff members can also be capable of predatory behaviour and breaking other major rules in private :O). After all, Administration still actively relies on reports to do its job because most of Moderation and sometimes even Administration themselves are generally too lazy to actually do their jobs except the bare minimum. As a moderator in the past, an admin (still admin btw) went out of their way to berate me for going out of my way and spectating roleplay (even though that is part of Moderation's job). By allowing the simple possibility of sexual-natured roleplay through FTB, you're providing predators an outlet in-game to be used against victims that they can justify by saying stuff like "Oh, it's within the rules. Don't worry, I wouldn't have you do anything against the rules. You know that, right?".

Furthermore, I think it's disgusting how many people are actually voting No citing that "grooming still happens". Like yeah, it does. However, it's our responsibility to do our best to protect our communities and the greater server community. It's our responsibility to make it clear that sexual roleplay is not a welcome avenue of roleplay on our server. If people are going to be banned for shit like saying "I'm going to screw your mum" in roleplay as a taunt or a joke, why are we allowing people to do the lead-ups to sexual roleplay and then fading to black? There are strong double standards at play, and anyone who genuinely thinks that sex has any productive value on the server should be investigated.

P.S. peep how quite a lot of the people voting no are people known to have engaged in inappropriate roleplay or have been accused of it / ERP. Just an interesting observation.

  3. As long as the rule change would only encompass sexual FTBs, I think this should be fine. I would not want to see it extended to banning other forms of graphic FTBs such as torture, amputations, etc. There's a good capacity for character development that would come from those more mature roleplay situations which should remain as long as it's FTB'd as usual. However, I'm firmly against sexual FTBs.

  4. Acolyte Petyr, a foreign observer, is incredibly confused about the whole situation as there has been no further elaboration on who the Archduchess actually consorted with both lustfully and treasonously. He hopes that all sides are able to tell the full story so the Church can effectively mediate before bloodshed begins.

Humanity wasn't even really against homosexuality, NOR was the church/was there anything about it in the canonist script until a few months ago. Weird lecture and hill OOC bigots in the community chose to die on randomly. Not a fan.

    Spoiler

This isn't really true in regard to the Canonist Church. There has been no change in scripture or Canon Law within the last few months or even a year that suggests such a change. I can say that the Canonist Church has held its current stance on homosexuality since at least 2021 but likely before 2019 to some extent as well. Before that is beyond my knowledge. In the Holy Scrolls (written in 2019-2020), there isn't anything that explicitly frowns upon homosexuality. You can have gay feelings, kiss your bros, or whatever. There is no law against being gay. The problem that the Scrolls pose is "laying" outside of holy union (marriage) which is what leads to it being shunned (as well as general ignorance of the Scrolls and people think that the Church just hates gays so they try to copy it for their persona).

The stance of the Church has for as long as I can remember is that marriage can only be between a man and a woman. The Scroll of Virtue, as 'commanded by God (Viros and dib)', writes that they made the love of "the husband and wife" and with no mention of homosexuality anywhere else in the Holy Scrolls it suggests that God had only considered the husband and wife to be a holy union. Since gays cannot enter a holy union with each other, any naughty things they could do to each other are automatically considered sinful.

That being said, the Church historically has not really cared if people had gay characters as long as they weren't really public with it (RP pride posts because people do that for some reason) or had some sort of scandal that kinda revolves around their character being gay like this one (the main point here is the attempted murder and cheating, the gay would just be contextual information). The Church has more things to worry about than someone emoting that a man stares at another man for too long. There are outliers of course, but they're usually the same sorta people trying to bring their OOC beliefs to RP.

  6. Petyr, the faithful Canonist farmhand, is more than willing to assist the Church and his fellow Canonists against the atrocities of the apostates. However, he can't help but think that this is an ambitious ploy by some Haeseni Lords to acquire a new vassal and more land rather than an attempt to help the faith.

I think my entire ban has been a misunderstanding. I am not misogynistic. I have said some things which I deeply regret because they have offended others. Because I am a transgender man I fully understand and empathize with young women and their difficulties. In no way shape or form would I intend to diminish anyone on the basis of their gender.

I can't tell if you are blind to your own actions or shitposting on this appeal hoping you'd get accepted so you can brag about lying on your appeal to whichever community you've sucked yourself into. Whether you are transgender or not, it doesn't give you a free pass to be misogynistic. I have you seen you firsthand being discriminatory towards women on the fact that they are women out-of-character.

When the Canonist Church's curia chat OOCly discussed the question of whether women should be allowed to be priests because nothing strictly prohibited it from the Holy Scrolls, most people were for it, one or two may have been mixed because it'd been an RP tradition at that point, but you were the only one who I recall was staunchly against it and you justified your position on the matter with phrases along the lines of "women are frustrating" and "egirls should not be given the opportunity to do their antics in the church" (as much as I'd like to give direct quotes, I don't have access to the chat anymore). It was your incel-like OOC behaviour alongside your RP behaviour (which was incredibly unfit for the Church as your persona deviated from the norms) that had you removed from any position of authority in the Church. While I don't have any of the stuff from the Curia chat (where pretty much most if not all of the Church-discussed discrimination was), I do have some screenshots from the priesthood channel that does display some degree of misogyny that isn't RP justified which is put below in a spoiler (first proves that they acknowledge that women aren't prohibited from being priests in the Holy Scrolls, second proves that they were heavily against the idea of making women priests). And oh? Who would have guessed? You got banned for attacking one of the first female priests of the Church? I am sure that there is no blend of OOC and RP at all.

I have to say this ban was a pleasant surprise because it was inevitable. While they are past their appeal date now, I still think that they should remain banned until they are able to make an appeal that sounds sincere and owns up to their behaviours properly.

  8. Although Petyr would not be a priest, he would be literate enough to be able to read most of what was written to understand the gist of the letter posted on the board of a nearby chapel. He thinks to himself, wondering when the right time would be to reach out and learn as an acolyte under the Church of the Canon to further his own knowledge of his faith. Perhaps, he may be able to find some inner calling doing the Lord's work as one of His faithful servants.

I'm not going to actively seek it out, but if I were to get offered it in roleplay, I'd probably take it if it makes sense to the character. If you can do it, I'm sure I can.

3 meters radius is 6 meters diameter, that's a lot bigger than realized I think for a ball of solid fire summoned in 3 emotes, and should just be measured down a bit. 3 meters diameter already is a lot, all things considered, but to the credit of Azdrazi they are meant to be fearsome, hard-hitting.

I understand the concern. Though, given that it takes three emotes to cast the Flamespew spell to begin with and the two emote cooldown preventing fireball spam like you're in Mortal Kombat, I imagine that would give more than enough time for attackers to try distancing themselves from the Nephilim and by extension the fireball. If they do get hit while unprotected, they can be quickly doused and moved away from the flame. If the spell has already existed for a long time, and it hasn't become abused to the point of it needing to be forcibly removed I see no reason why it shouldn't be left in.
