  1. Thank you for purposefully misunderstanding what I'm saying to frame your position better. You have put down 3x strength, which I don't think is necessarily a problem, but you're framing it as supernatural and without the innate physical drawbacks (like what is blatantly spelled out in the Speed section of the current lore) that should come with ologs being big creatures. Not only have they by default been granted a medium armour rating for their skin, but you've also made it impossible for their strength to be physically sapped which further reinforces the idea of supernatural strength. In this way, you definitely have changed the lore when it comes to Olog strength to be more powerful. They've also been forced through lore to be in an orcish society which is very obviously intended to ensure that this strength is meant to be used to pressure players who want to try out an olog to work for the benefit of orcs against other races as a CRP counter. You're bringing up a typical warhammer as if that was mentioned at all. Wizzar was complaining about knights (who tend to have taken a heavy focus on conflict roleplay) having enchanted or divinely powered warhammers. Enchanted and powered being the keywords. His complaint about non-typical gear that takes months of roleplay to achieve at the very minimum is not equivalent to some random person being immediately given the ability to brutalise people under the Rage effect accessible through an open CA. There is nothing stopping from Orc players to take their own initiative to acquire those sorts of items as well, so instead of Orc players trying to find a counter under the guise of a rewrite they should put the effort in to roleplay so that their characters can take on the characters who have put the work in to become powerful in RP.
  2. This sounds like a skill issue. It's almost as if when you encounter knights when their entire focus is around being an elite soldier that they're going to be exceptionally well-equipped in some form. This progression isn't just given to them as soon as they start the character. Not all characters who engage in conflict or even achieve some level of knighthood in nations have powerful equipment. The ones that do have dedicated their characters to a particular roleplay path and over time it has a chance of paying off with them being given access to or directly making enhanced weapon and equipment. Trying to empower an open CA that has no real drawback for the average player is very obviously intended to act as an immediate counter to people who have spent months to years developing their characters and enhancing them through what lore has made available to them. Instead of engaging in and supporting a lore arms race, how about you make use of the existing lore like the people you are complaining about are doing?
  3. I personally don't like the framing of supernatural physical strength with no seeming drawbacks on that physical strength. Their strength is very logically derived from their larger size and I think a part of the charm of ologs is that they're essentially large troll-like orcs where they hit hard but they have the drawback of being sluggish and less maneuverable to their Uruk or Goblin counterparts.
  4. A former knightly elf, donning the name Pelleas, muses at the supposed return of Stassion blood on the Azuran continent, "The Stassies have proven themselves most treacherous in the past, and it was their ruin. Time will tell if being doomed to a cycle of treachery is their fate."
  5. All this talk of the Dark Lord makes me want to rewatch Bright. Weirdly good movie btw. Their elves look especially cool https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bright_(film)

  6. I understand the sentiment behind it, and to an extent, I agree with it. I've always personally supported the idea that if you're going to do something like this, you should at the very least put details on the cover page that mention your character or institution as some sort of archivist, curator, publisher, etc. while giving full credit to the original author as much as you can within the knowledge you have surrounding its authorship. That being said, it's a roleplay standard and expectation issue that should be tackled from a community-level both in RP and in OOC rather than making a new rule which will burden Moderation further with nothingburger investigations where they'll have to try to pinpoint the origins of an alleged Stendhal-copied book, pinpointing timestamps to determine if it was in fact Stendhal-copied rather than transcribed through other means, figure out whether there was a good reason for it being copied/if they were given permission, and whether the content and its reach was unreasonable to determine severity. I'd rather Moderation focus on more serious topics and enforcing the rules that we already have that on occasion get overlooked or ignored.
  7. "You speak nothing more than facts, dear sister. The radiant sun of An'asul shines brightly on the 'thill and the State's inability to recognise such will only serve its own repose." one never-present Leithedir An'asul monologues to Usamea.
  8. Thain Arthur Littlewood begins seeing these high-quality parchments on noticeboards. For his own selfish purposes, he would begin collecting them wherever he saw them to start using them to wipe his bum bum during poo poo time. It was very fortunate that the Dwarves would spend what remained of their riches following their destruction in developing toilet paper.

  10. "We feel"? Most of the community hated Tech trying to push an unwanted food expiration system, especially in the way that it was put into practice by affecting all food items. People were complaining about it even last map when this map's release was initially delayed until food expiration would've been somewhat ready. People continuously voiced their opposition despite the insistence by Tech that it would proceed because of a certain vision, and it wasn't until the plugin broke that people were able to feel relief that this arbitrary hassle wasn't being forced on the community anymore, even if temporarily. It's good that Tech is acknowledging that something needs to change, but this really should've been done earlier because of the vast community feedback oppositional to this as seen here for instance before it was even introduced where it was apparent that most people who answered did not want a food expiration plugin and a significant amount of people explicitly noted that if it was introduced that it would dampen their enjoyment and that it would hurt RP having to more regularly gather food. Something that would become a reality when the plugin was added and it wasn't long before free food chests meant to be a convenience for people focused on roleplaying became chests littered with expired food. Don't pretend that people in Tech involved in this reversal came to some wise insight of their own accord, because the overwhelming negative feedback was there since the beginning. It's interesting how commonplace it is for Tech to try overstepping into what would ordinarily be within the scope of or include the involvement of another team... it makes you wonder...
  11. "LONG LIVE THA NEW EMPRAH!" Arthur Littlewood exclaims in Rittersburg.
  12. Arthur Littlewood — Sergeant of the Imperial Army and Thain of Brindlebrook — raised an eyebrow at his warning gone unheeded to the Crown Prince. He was already sure that something to this effect would occur and made it clear. Though, he relents that he initially considered that the scope of the violence would have endangered the Imperial royalty rather than something comparatively tame like kinslaying. Nevertheless, he feels vindicated.
  13. To the Weefolk of Azuras Thain Arthur Littlewood Year 874 of Shire Reckoning Let it be known that the rebuilding of a true home for our continent’s weefolk is underway. Through the patronage of the Empire, and most especially those of House Helane, the former lands of Amberdell are to go through a period of nourishment to remove the self-inflicted destruction wrought on it by the select few who chose the displacement of the weefolk over its prosperity. These truly improper halflings have shown how adherence to the old ways lead to the self-destruction of those who find themselves complacent in them. These improper halflings destroy Amberdell out of their selfishness and vision of trying to escape the Empire’s attempt at peaceful coordination only now to coddle up to the Empire’s administration in the province of Norland once they realise they have nowhere else to go. How does this bitterness serve the weefolk? It does not. Anger, bitterness, spite, and betrayal are not how you lead a people. I offer a new direction. The only direction. I implore all Weefolk of Azuras to join me in the resettling of the lands of Amberdell as a new village. A new shire. The Shire of Brindlebrook. Under this new governance, all prior grievances shall be cast aside and those who contributed to the destruction of Amberdell shall be given a second chance to humble themselves and demonstrate their willingness to be proper where it matters most. To all those who wish to join me in this path, seek me out in the Empire’s capital of Rittersburg or write to me to learn more. More details shall be published once resettlement officially begins. 14. I don't know who you are but I don't think anyone cares what you believe sociopolitically. It just comes off as virtue signally to add this information. "Guys, I'm one of the good ones and even I say this is bad". I'm not keeping track of this thread 100% so idk if Smmer is pushing for DPM to come back. That being said, I think a lot of older players have made their bed as a result of years of questionable or downright bad behaviour and now that they've made their bed they need to lie down in it for good even if they've supposedly redeemed themselves. They need to move on with their life and stop trying to play the Craft. Minecraft isn't a game people should be trying to play forever.
  15. Settlement war rules are slop. Upping realm signatures to 40 is slop. The rest is fine-ish but they need to be stress-tested before any proper judgement can be made on them. I'm at work rn but my critiques are very similar to Tide1's so I won't bother going into detail. This should have waited until a Moderation Admin was on the team though. Given the dynamic of admin bureaucracy, I feel like this was rushed specifically so that a Mod Admin couldn't have a say in the vote and in the war rules...
  16. Arthur Littlewood prepares himself for yet another campaign, though this would be much easier and shorter than the last.
  17. A halfling of the Empire, Arthur Littlewood, stumbles across the letter on his journey to Norland to supply the Imperial Legion. He reads it in earnest and thinks to himself, "So these weefolk 'ave taken refuge in Norland? This Brunfell? Mehbeh I should let them know about tha resettlement efforts..." He places the letter back on the noticeboard and goes about his business.
  18. People should receive clear reasons behind their bans if the intention is to have a fair system. If staff want players to have accountability for their behaviour, they're not going to be able to take accountability when they don't know what they did or what they've been supposedly accused of. Depending on the circumstances, I think it is justifiable that some of the evidence isn't disclosed if it is believed that it could be genuinely compromising to someone's wellbeing. It is silly to expect that someone who did some atrocious thing wouldn't already try retaliate against anyone they suspected contributed towards their ban to begin with. They wouldn't need confirmation on what their ban was for for them to ramp up against people they might've messed with in the past. It needs to also be acknowledged that there have been circumstances where one-sided evidence has been leveraged in the past before in the hopes of trying to secure a ban for someone despite the reporter being complicit in some form. Take the example of toxicity/harassment cases where people say something like "kill yourself" as a joke to each other and then later on someone will delete their own messages to make it seem like these were harassing messages. The banned player should obviously be informed of the context of which they were banned so they can refute it with additional context if possible, especially if they're in a position where they're able to appeal. That being said, I'm not sure whether I would say we deserve it or not. It's easy to say that this is the way things should be, but it's not always practical. LotC moderation and administration can get steeped in bureaucratic hell which can delay verdicts, but also sometimes the best way to get rid of an undesirable player is to just ban them under some other false pretence and than ignore them. It shouldn't be like this but it's effective. I think that administration should be allowed to flat-out ban undesirable players indefinitely for being inherently problematic but they get by normally for skirting the line. It may not be well-received, but I think the transparency in doing that is much better than just keeping people banned under false pretences and ignored.
  19. This is impossible to achieve, I've been shilling for this since 2019...
  20. Arthur Littlewood screams from the top of his lungs from atop a watchtower in Rittersburg, "AVE HADRIAN! AVE IMPERIUM!" He beams proudly as Hadrian became Emperor of Man to Emperor of Azuras.
  21. "I don' think he is that guy. I don' think anyone thinks he is that guy." Arthur Littlewood remarks to himself hearing the news.
  22. "Ave Hadrian! Ave Imperium!" the halfling guard Arthur Littlewood proclaims at this historic victory against the savages of the south.
  23. Arthur Littlewood made his destructive debut with his leal cannon "Knox" which served him well in the destruction of enemy ballistae. As the upper wall above the main gate began to collapse, he would let out a boisterous quip, "Ye mess with tha best, ye go down with tha rest. Bullseye!" The halfling cannoneer joins the breach where he carries his weefolk spirit into this final assault. With his specially commissioned longsword appropriate to his size, he would wreak havoc at the dwarves who carried a similar stature to himself. One dead. Two dead. His erratic flurry with his longsword held firm in his hands like a vice proved to be a punishing scourge to any dwarf that had allowed themselves to be a target for too long. The battle drew to a close and Arthur's shoulders hung as his muscles began to finally be beat down by the plate that he was wearing. He found his way to a feast hall that had been largely untouched by the battle. He tosses his helmet to the side as he approaches the short throne of the hall. While it was less fancy than the throne room, it seemed likely to have been made to seat any dwarf lucky enough to have been coronated as king. Arthur, alone in the room, sits on the grand seat. A feeling of pride washes over him as he looks over the hall. He sits there for a while, soaking in what it might feel like to be a king. It felt powerful. He felt... big. A moment of realisation set in that he likely fell prey to the same sense of grandiosity that fueled dwarven arrogance and he took off from the seat, going to find the rest of his comrades and soak in the rest of victory like a good soldier should.
  24. A reminder that character bleed is something that can and should be avoided where possible. This does not only extend to blending your OOC and RP beliefs about a thing. It can also entail bringing your OOC relationships into an RP environment. It is a tale as old as time on LotC where an OOC relationship, especially a romantic one, causes divisive drama that wouldn't otherwise be there if they didn't make that OOC relationship a fundamental aspect of their character. Of course, you can even go further than that and refrain from romance roleplay entirely. It is possible to have fun on the server without romance roleplay and there are many players on the server who have gotten by without engaging in it.
