Give a definition of what it means to you.: Roleplaying to me is more than going "I sliced your head off with my God sword and theres nothing you can do about it" I think RP is more about the character than the action. In Roleplay, people take the role of a character. They either create this character or use one that is already created. When roleplaying, people talk as if it was their character talking and doing actions. In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Metagaming is the use of external information to give your character an edge over others. Example: Using Skype, Teamspeak, forums, etc to let your character learn about happenings and characters he's never seen or heard of. Powergaming is when a player makes an action without letting the other player make an action as well. Example: Killing someone without giving them a chance to protect themselves, or using power your character would not originally have What do you expect this server will be like?: I honestly don't know, but I hope to be pleasantly surprised. Sora is a very honorable person with undying loyalty to those that he trusts. He has blond hair, brown eyes, and is very tall for his age, being 6’8. He wears his father’s old armour. Growing up, he was taught the way of the sword and honorable combat by his father, a retired knight of Malinor. When he turned 16 (In human years), he discovered a small cave in which he found a small group of bandits. Using the element of surprise, Sora was able to beat the bandits with his father’s old sword. It was here he discovered his true hidden skills with a blade. Sora then returned to his father. He then taught Sora a very basic cure spell and seeing his progress, decided to send Sora off to Malinor to discover his destiny… Your characters ambitions: Sora wants to find a place where his talents can be used. He wants to become a knight, so that he can protect the innocent and defeat evil. He is very good with a sword, and is very resourceful. Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? Sora would jump in between the elf and the bandits. He would then ask he elf if he needed help, and if he said yes, would fight the bandits in hand to hand combat with the elf. Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? "Ah thank you, finally someone noticed. Could you point me in the direction of the nearest blacksmith, I seem to have gotten lost.” A screenshot of your skin: Other Information: Is weary of trusting people but once they have his trust, Sora will never abandon them. James Undercroft 129 Share Posted January 28, 2012 This is an improvement from your last application, but you seem to have either not read all of the feedback that was given, or you ignored it. Antharin said last time that: Some things in the biography should be changed: An elf that is aged 16 years isn't capable of handling bandits on his own. He's just a child then. Don't add hidden skills to the blade, that's a bit magical. Also, you cannot start out with any magic, you need to earn them through progress. So do not write that your character defeated bandits at the age of 16, and do not write that your character has "hidden skills with the blade". Although perhaps a simple cure spell would be acceptable. You see, elves in Lord of the Craft mature a lot less quickly then the other species. Some people say that mature two times as slowly, which would mean you would become an adult fully developed at around 50 (because even humans do not fully mature until the age of 25, that has been scientifically proven), and some people go as far as to say even a 200 year old elf is not fully mature. So please take these ages into consideration. Your biography is too short and needs some expansion. Please include the entire question when writing your biography such as your characters history, personality, description and age. With the description don’t just write He is tall and old and carries around a bow. There are a lot of tall, old people who carry around bows. Get descriptive, what is your hair colour? How long? Eye colour? Big eyes? Small eyes? Do you have wrinkles? Freckles? A mole? Etc. Also, if your character is good at swordsmanship, bows or even magic you need to explain in your biography why your character is so good in what it does and how it developed these skills. We would like you to include some lore from the world of Aegis and/or Asulon such as names of towns and people, or even events which have happened before and your characters connection to the event. You can find all about the lore of Lord of the Craft here: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page,'>http://www.lordofthecraft.net/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page, or in the lore/history sections of the forum and website. For example you could write my character was born in the elven kingdom of . . . or near the human fort of . . . I would like to see at least a PARAGRAPH for each role-play question and make sure for the combat question you abide by the rules of combat for the server. In role-play you will need to warn a villain before engaging in combat. At least a couple of lines from each person is needed for combat to initiate or it is considered a no-rp kill and you can get banned on the server for it. Do not just write: I suddenly pull out my sword and kill the bandits. Then I ask the elf for money for helping him. Write a dialogue as well as the actions of all those involved. This goes as well for the shop question, do not just write a single line, write a full scene. Write the actions of all involved in the situation and what they say, how they interact with each other. I want to see how good you REALLY ARE at RPing and I want you to try as hard as you can when answering these questions. Do not post another application within 2 days or that application will be skipped. Please do send a PM my way if you are having any trouble understanding the application process or my feedback, I would be glad to help you. :) Good luck for your next application! :D Here is some further reading material that can help you get accepted: To understand the questions being asked better look here: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/34777-in-depth-analysis-of-the-application-form/ The guide of a Game Master to accepted server applications: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/13144-petyrs-guide-to-accepted-server-applications/ Tips to definitely include on your application: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/19145-tips-to-include-on-your-application/ A must-read guide to the world of aegis: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/9868-an-extensive-guide-to-the-world-of-aegis How to avoid role-playing as a terrible character: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/27643-how-to-avoid-making-a-mary-suegary-stu/ All the lore of the world of Aegis: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page Information about the skills system: http://lordofthecraft.net/wiki/index.php?title=Skill_Information F.A.Q of Application submissions: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/30081-application-submissions-faq-proper-etiquette/
