In-Character:

Character Name: Daechiir

What Race are you?: Daechiir is an Elf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Daechiir is a Dark Elf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Daechiir was born as a small, yet physically strong dark elf. His mother died during childbirth, leaving his father as the only one to look after him. His father ran a small butcher’s shop on the outskirts of the small town they lived in. He made hardly any money, forcing Daechiir to have to attend the worst schools in the area. During his school life he was bullied, was in numerous fights and was always treated differently, simply due to the fact he was a dark elf, and the majority of the students were high elves.

In his adolescent years, he worked for his father. He became a strong young elf, an expert in the art of butchery. His character was one of secrecy; he kept himself secluded in his room, preferring to keep himself entertained rather than to play outside, mainly to avoid abuse form the other children. He kept himself in good physical condition, whilst the other elves were getting fat and lazy from doing nothing but go to school all day. “Why bother with school when I can own my own butchery at the age of 20? Father’s giving me better education than all of those idiotic teachers.” And so, with Daechiir’s philosophy set in stone in his mind, he worked for his father for many years. Until his father passed on, Daechiir, breaking his promise out of pure grief and anguish, let the butcher’s shop he had lived in all his life fall into disrepair, becoming even more secluded from the world. His attire began to consist of a dark robe and a hood. The dark colours of the robe somewhat saying, “I’m a dark elf, I don’t care what you think,” simply by adding emphasis to his darker skin tone. His red eyes, now a much darker shade of crimson, perhaps from the many tears he shed after his father’s death, were always saddened and lonesome looking. His skin had become a lot paler than the obsidian black it was in his early years, probably because of the large amounts of time he spent by himself in the butchery. He had also become much more hostile towards people he had never even met before, yelling abuse at those who ran into him in the street, and the guards that annoyed him with their stupid teasing of his difference. In the end, at the ripe age of 140, he decided enough was enough and left the small town, once and for all. Now looking for somewhere new to go, to try and escape the discrimination he had experienced in his hometown. The first place he found on his journey was the sanctuary...

What is your Character's ambitions?: Daechiir’s one ambition is to find a place where he can achieve equality among the other elves. To escape the prejudice and racism he has been subject to all his life. And to help those in the same situation is an added bonus.

Other Information about your Character: Daechiir’s life has been one of misery and segregation. He has kept himself to himself and prefers it that way. He finds that by himself he can begin to relax and ignore the stress that such vile racism has put him through. However, knowing the pain bullying and abuse brings, he also strives to help those in the same position he was in, in his childhood.

Open-Response-Questions, Answer at least three out of five listed

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Daechiir, immediately realising that it is a robbery, decides to approach the situation, knowing all too well what such bullying feels like, and says to the men: “I’d back off if I were you, this isn’t exactly a secluded area, so word could get to guards quite quickly which two fools decided to attempt a robbery.” The warriors, realising they had attracted a crowd, then left with a rather long glare in the direction of Daechiir.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Daechiir looks over the wares, trying to see if the man has anything useful for him to purchase. In the end he decides that there’s nothing useful for him and would part after saying, “No thank you, but I may return another time," and with that he would carry on walking down the street.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Daechiir makes sure he isn’t being watched before reaching in and examining the objects, making sure they are real. “A bit too good to be true,” Daechiir would mutter to himself, but would sheath the sword and pocket the bars anyway, then walking away in as casual a walk as he can, trying to hide his excitement.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Daechiir would reply, “Hail friends, have you any food to spare for a hungry traveller?” After receiving some food from the campers and catching up on the latest news, he would say, “Farewell, thank you for the food. May our paths cross again someday,” and continue on his way, his hunger now gone.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: He would offer help, always keen to earn a few minas for himself. “Aye, I’ll help you,” Daechiir would call to them, his hand going immediately to his sword, drawing it and walking at a brisk pace towards the men who had offered him the money. "Now, where are these bandits," Daechiir asks. He then follows the men, and prepares for a fight.
