Minecraft Account Name:

rimkusjm

How old are you?:

29 Years Young

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

PST/ United States

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

I have a strong grip on the English language and I use quality grammar

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I'm a teacher and football coach who has a passion for gaming. I'm married and live in Seattle, Wa.

I love the minecraft at its purest form.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

In football season which is from June to the beginning of November I will be on 5 hours a week. The rest of the year around 10 hours a week.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

RP is the act of getting into character and acting out a role in the given world the character lives in. It requires the person to speak, act and think as the character and leaving your personal influence to the side.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

When I was growing up I was a weekly participant in D&D games and I dabbled in L.A.R.P. till I reached High School. The most recent and closest thing to RP I've been a part of is in SWTOR.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

The most common form is using OOC informtation when IC. Some also may say that using code or statistics provided in the game to gather information and then used in RP'ing. Or making assumptions without RP'ing to get information.

For example, holding shift and right clicking to get a characters name instead of asking. Or meeting a character for the first time when they have no armor on. Then seeing them later while covered in armor and a helmet and approaching them as though your character knows them. A question such as, "Hail! Orion as that you?" would be appropriate. However, seeing the name above their character and simply saying, "Hail Orion!" wouldn't be appropriate.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

RP'ing without giving the other person/character the chance to react. Engaging in RP battle without consent or warning to the opponent. Over powering a conversation to gain leverage without allowing response or dialogue on the other characters part. Dominating conversation is the most basic form.

For example: Uno sees an Elf in the wild and begins to attack or simply says, "An Elf! Run before I kill you." This would not be proper gaming and would be considered power gaming.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I giant and vibrate community of characters who shape and mold the lore of the world. I would expect the world to be very difficult and cruel at times while offering safe haven spots located throughout the kingdom of Asulon. The desire of power and money will no doubt shape the land and lore.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

Winthier.com They are a very basic and town driven server. Fun to mine but not a strong community presence or world feel.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

Yes

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

Yes

How did you hear about us?:

Minestatus.com and youtube

In-Character:

Character Name:

Uno Lateralus

What Race are you?:

Dwarf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Mountain Dwarf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Uno Lateralus is a very strong and rigid dwarf. He has the physique of a greek god compacted into a 5 foot frame with lots hair braided into a thick tail. He looks like the dwarven version of a young lion. He is a very quiet and reserved fellow who thinks long and deliberately before he speaks. His hard upbringing made him a very isolated person with few friends. He took to himself and focused on mastering the skills needed to survive the day; keeping a clean place, sharp weapon, thick armor and unyielding discipline.

At a young age Uno was a troubled dwarf who had to grow up very quickly. He was raised by his grandmother, Laina Lateralus and his Grandfather Uggi Lateralus, until the age of 10. His grandparents were very tough and rigid folk who had no desire to bring on another child, for they had disowned Uno's parents just before he was born. At the age of 10, Uno and his grandparents moved out of the cottage home and into the great halls of Kal’Urguan. His grandparents took this opportunity to push Uno into the real world and out of theirs. They saw the halls to be a place for Uno to learn more about the love of food and war, a dwarven lifestyle. It is in the halls of Kal' Urguan that Uno learns much about a lifestyle, he also learns the truth about his parents.

One day while Uno is browsing the market for a sharp new axe, he decides to check the bulletin board. You see, it was time for him to start fending for himself Uggi would say. That meant finding work. As Uno browsed the board he noticed a 'Wanted' sign and a wealthy reward on it as well. As he looked closer to the bulletin his heart stopped and his stomach turned.

"Eno and Owt Lateralus - WANTED - Dead or Alive. Traitors and Spies of the Kal' Urguan. Suspected to have fled to Malinor."

Now Uno truly realized the move to the halls that his grandparents wanted. They didn't have the heart to tell him nor the strength to see him. He was a reminder to the them what their son and wife had become; traitors. They accepted minas for the trade of Dwarven information on troop movement and plans. Uno was overwhelmed with anger and rage. At such a young age and isolated childhood, Uno had no idea who to be mad at or who to blame. He never knew his parents or anything about his family and it all started to make sense why. Honor is the highest quality a Dwarf can possess and his parents traded his ancestors honor for a few extra minas. That day was the longest walk back home from the market. Uno couldn't decide how to bring it up or wether to say anything at all to his grandparents. The only thing he knew that would keep the peace at home is to do what he had always done, keep the pain inside and calculate his next move. Uno never brought it up with Uggi and Laina - for he could tell they already knew he had found out.

Now 19 years of age, Uno begins to form his path in life. He wants to be a major influence, but not in Kal' Urguan. His love for battle, and his hatred for his parents and the hard life they left for him, has fueled his desire to fight against the Elves someday. His hatred is however isn't blind nor mad. This strong and wise dwarven child has always thought long before he acted and even longer before he spoke. This plot of revenge would be much more calculated than blood shed. This plot of Uno's required him to get closer and learn more before he made a move. Uno knows his first move is to find out who can help him get closer to Malinor and his parents.

Uno has now moved into his own home in Kal' Urguan and is working as an armorer. His love for sharp axes and thick armor, coupled with his discipline in life, have made him a young armorer on the rise. He hopes soon he can make enough minas to buy a place a little closer to Malinor and open his own armory. In the mean time, he works, thinks and cleans his heart and mind.

What is your Character's ambitions?:

Uno Lateralus' ambitions are to save enough minas and move to a town closer to Malinor while staying as safe as possible. He isn't crazy enough to be the only dwarf in town. However, he is brave enough to be the other dwarf in town. Once he has his new home he hopes to open a shop and personal mine close by. He always plans to make a few new friends, dwarf or other races alike, along the way.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

Uno loves his axe, Aenema. He has had it since the day his grandparents moved to Kal' Urguan. It didn't have much meaning to him at first. A sturdy axe with his families seal on the blade. Once he learned of the disgrace his parents brought to himself and his ancestors he vowed to use Aenema to help restore the seals image in Asulon.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

Blacksmithing. It's what he has done his whole life. He specializes in armor, particularly helmets. He also enjoys mining to a lesser degree.

Other Information about your Character:

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Uno is a very quiet dwarf who chooses words and does not abuse them. Upon sight of a possible crime or injustice he isn't one to act right away but rather assess and analyze first. Uno is a brave dwarf but not a stupid one. He first calculates whether he can fight and defeat the two warriors alone. Second, he asks himself if the halfling is worth his own life. Third, he speaks.

"Stop!" he shouts. "Does it take two warrios to streal from half a man?" he mockingly asks.

"Why don't you make this man, whole, and join in the fight Dwarf?" one of the warrior screams.

By this time Uno has had ample time to think and strategize. He has answered all the questions in his mind and understands the consequences of his possible acitons. Uno slowly unsheaths Aenema and begins to sprint at the warriors. Bloodshed isn't the way of this Dwarven warrior, but sometimes it's his only option.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent "'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Uno is very familiar with merchants and their 'various wares'. Growing up in the country outside the halls of Kal' Urguan he would run into many posh accented travelers passing by.

"It all depends on exactly what it is that you do?" Uno asks cautiously.

"That depends on the dwarf and how much minas he has to offer." replies the merchant.

By this time, Uno is smart enough to know that whatever this man has to offer isn't worth it. He knows that this may be the same way his honor was sold by his parents. Deceptive and rich people are never a recipe for good character. Uno calmly answers to the merchant, "Unfortunately, this dwarf has little minas."

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Uno has grown up on hard times and even harder people. He knows that items so rare and pricey do not get easily lost or left behind. A hut that looks abandoned doesn't mean that it is. The cottage home that he lived in the first decade of his life would have looked abandoned to others in Kal' Urguan if he and his grandparents not been in it. Uno stands in the center of the hut, quietly and cautiously browsing the room with his eyes. His eyes tell him nobody has been here for a while, however, his nose tells him otherwise. Anyone can recognize the smell of an orc and by the smell of this hut, it isn't alone. Uno grabs a chair and brings it outside. He starts a small fire outside and sits aside it waiting for this Orc that owns the hut to come home.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

"Much thanks to the warm welcome." Uno loudly whispers. He knows a warm welcome doesn't always mean a warm stay.

"I am pointed in a direction, but not sure if it's the correct one. Which road leads to Kal' Urguan from your forest friends?" Uno confidently asks. He knows that any sense of indecision or confusion may lead to a long night. Blood in the water is like indecision in the wild.

Uno lowers his helmet ever so slightly and covers the seal on his axe. He knows that he may not be wanted here for what his parents had become.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Uno has been supplying this town and its guards with armor and steel and now it was time for them to be put to good use. His excitement for his passion being put to good use was overwhelming. However, his discipline and understanding in life have told him he has to do his job first. Who else would make armor if he was to be slain? Who else would protect his town and home? Uno tilts his eyebrows and thinks to himself, who will restore his families honor?Uno quietly walks to the town guard. Many of the young boys are thirsty for blood in battle. The town guards know that hunger doesn't always mean intellect. The boys of the town continue to raise their hands and shout, "I'll go! I'll kill those bastards!"

The guards look around, almost as though searching the sand for that precious rock. One guard turns and points right at Uno and says, "Uno sir, what better man to fight with than the one who built our army. Will you join us?"

The moment of truth and one Uno had been waiting for. Long has he desired a worthy cause to battle for. Gaining prestige in battle would be the step closer to Malinor and the step closer to restoring honor.

As Uno ties his hair in his thick signature braid and walks closer to the town guard he calmly replies, "Yes. Yes I will my lord."

I really enjoyed your application a lot.

You went In depth with your character and that's what I like to see.

However, there is only one main reason I'm denying you.

Your biography.

It feels incomplete.

You say he now works as an armorer in Kal'Urguan, which is in Aegis.

We are now in Asulon, so, for your next app, just add to your bio, of what is happening to your character in Asulon.
