zinswa 0 Share Posted February 20, 2013 Minecraft Account Name: Zinswa How old are you?: 16 Time-Zone: Eastern Standard time Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: I have What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I used to play on a much less successful server, I was the moderator for the longest time, but again the server did not do well and has been reduced to roughly zero active players. How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?:My friend Jonny. Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/1800-zinswa-character-application/ Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): Have you read the Elven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: I have, and I plan on it.DefinitionsIn your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: Role-playing is taking on the role of another person, choosing their actions, their reactions, adopting their way of thinking, and in a sense becoming them. Meta-gaming: An annoyance, this is when someone takes something that they know OOC, like say Derek, and John go to the same school and hang out, John makes a comment that his character Johnsten, is planning a raid on the Dwarves. This does not sit well with Derek, because his character Drake is a Dwarf, so Derek chooses to warn the Dwarves. When John leads his raid on the Dwarven home, Derek and his in game friends are somehow magically aware of their plans and stop them before they can even get past the gate. Meta-gaming is an annoyance, it’s something that people choose to do, and it gets in the way of good RP. Power-emoting: This is simply godmoding, when someone “Power-emotes” they take control of both their character, and that of whoever they are playing with, not so much as they adopt the persons character as their own as much as just making choices for them. For example, lets reuse Derek and John. Johnsten: *Swings a long arcing strike down onto Drakes shoulder crippling him* Drake: Da fuq? John did not only take the choice of if the hit connected or not, but he also chose the effect of the hit, removing reaction, choice or even an option.In-Character Information:Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Jakt’ Spectre Darkar Current Age: 350 Sub-race (if any): Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Long ago, long before the fall of Aegis a son was born unto two elves Maze and Leria Darkar, this son was named Jakt’. Sadly Jakt’ was born weak, blind, and mute. Both Maze and Leria thought the child was born still, saddened, and enraged by the loss of their only child the Darkar’s cursed the gods, and cried unto the more forsaken and pagan gods. Praying, and crying unto the gods the Darkar’s offered them everything, anything, and in response they took Maze. His mind and body rent and torn, Maze made the ultimate sacrifice to give life and strength to his son. Shortly after, Jakt’ gave out his first cry, and struggled and fought, writhing under his mothers grasp, as she cried for her husband. The gods are often fickle cruel, and can be evil at will, Jakt’ though only hours old Jakt’ was changed, his eyes glowed white and his skin paled. Times where hard as the lonely widowed Leria struggled to protect, and feed her son and herself, but she was adamant that her husbands sacrifice should not be in vain. The years past, Jakt’ grew strong, smart, and quick, it was clear the gods kept their bargain, but also that Jakt’ was not a normal child. Spending time working when ever he could on the fishing boats as best he could at six, and alone delving into books to which no one knew where he acquired, reading which alone was cause for worry due to his lack of education. Though strange and an oddity of the village Jakt’ was a blessing working and helping his poor mother as best he could, she loved him. Youth is wasted, and years are but a precursor to age, 15 years into his life a wandering monk arrived at the village, an oddly garbed man wearing living vines and plants on his vestments. The man claimed to be a priest of the wilds, sent by a man calling himself Majnun to take an apprentice Jakt’. Leria, who was not pleased to hear a random man trying to take her only son whom she depended on, she tried to fight him but was unable to strike the oddly clad man. Jakt’ followed the man willingly without hesitation, or complaint at his forced apprenticeship, in fact he seemed to enjoy the idea of it. Life with the man, who later explained his name was Ne’ltro, was harsh what was once simple fisherman's work became practice with sword craft, herblore, hunting, crafting, and discipline. With age came harder treatment, lectures on what plants do what, how to fight with a blade, the gods, and faith. Learning the ways of the "tribes" was brutal, and Ne’ltro saw that Jakt’ did not take a short cut, or had an easy time. three years past in the woods and Jakt’ now 18 was beyond the skill of Ne’ltro, but his training was not over. Ne’ltro had often spoke of his master, Majnun, but never expounded on who he was, just that he had sent him, and Jakt’ had known him his entire life, that he owed Majnun. Truth is that Jakt’ did not owe him, but that the deal had been paid in blood, his father’s blood, Majnun was once a powerful influential god wandering across the world destroying and corrupting the minds of men. For you see Majnun was once the god of madness and anarchy. Now weak a praying optimist hunting on weak souls and fools like Maze offering their all for a wish. The statue, a wolf howling into the sky surrounded be crows circling round, an idol to Majnun, the only place his power still held strong, but the realization of that was to late. Upon entering the circle that enshrined the statue Majnun had Jakt’ in his control. Jakt’ spent days listening to the mad gods ranting, listening to his rage and hate for mankind, and all those that had abandoned him, and of the one called “Angel” the name stuck with Jakt’ more than anything. Days became weeks, till the point the pain of hunger was louder than Majnuns ravings till Jakt’ was unable to focus and was forced into a deep sleep. Upon waking Jakt’ found that he’d changed, to the extreme he his skin covered in fur, and his body different like a wolf, but in the form of a man. Scared, and confused as a voice broke the silence a woman, surrounded in white light. She told Jakt’ what had happened, his fathers deal, Majnuns will for him, that he’d been asleep for over two hundred years, and her name “Angel”. Ambitions for the Future: To find the one called “Angel" Personality: Suffering from a slight split personality due to his time with the mad god Jakt’ can at times be unpredictable. For the majority of the time Jakt’ is calm enjoying peace and silence. Skills: Herb lore, sword craft, slight archery. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): A tall wolf like figure covered in dark gray to black fur, often wearing steel, studded gauntlets and leather pants. Any other details you wish to share about your character: Likes a few hits off the peace pipe, and a few nips of the mead, but never to the excess of becoming drunk or high.Open-Response-QuestionsEach question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of High Elves are mocking a small Wood Elf child. How do you react? Answer: Jakt’ walks to the small child, standing between him and the group, openly displaying his sword in an attempt to intemidate them. The elves off put by the show now direct there insults at Jakt’, who carelessly walks over and grabs ones shoulder, using his claws to rend the garment but not the to the point of harming the elf. The elves disperse not wanting to fight, Jakt’ looks to the child nodding, as he returns to his aimless wandering.2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do? Answer: Jakt’ runs to the aid of the man, first by filling the coin purse and returning it to it’s master, than by examining the man for any wounds, treating any he finds. (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved). Answer: Jakt’: Sir, would you have a few bits of xander root? Merchant: I’d have a few for the price of .30 Minas a root. Jakt’: No, it’s not worth nearly that much, .30 is too much, I’d be a buyer at .15 Merchant: I’d lose any profit at .15. Jakt’: OK, how about this we make a deal, if you'll go .15 on the root, I'll pay stock price on salted beef? Merchant: I'd... allow that.. Fine, but you don't come around me anymore. Jakt’: That's a deal and agreed.
everblue2er101 906 Share Posted February 20, 2013 Your application has been... Need to post on the Minecraft Forums before you can be accepted. There is no god 'Majnun' on the server. There is no magic that would allow for a two hundred year sleep. Cannot apply as a wolf figure. The rest of the In-Character section will need to be adjusted to reflect this. Will also need a new skin. Expand on all Open Response Questions and add dialogue. The ideas in the bio are interesting but do not fit within the server lore, so you'll have to either alter them or think of a new character.Wait at least 24 hours after this post to reapply. Send me a PM if you have any questions.
