Looking back at the Almaris snapshot makes me realize how much better the map design was, even the empty areas had more varied terrain and just somehow seemed more alive. Towering forests of thick conifers, mesas, open plains, alluvial hills, great river valleys, and large chains of islands to explore made Almaris just seem so full of things to get lost and discover. I've been looking through it all day and I'm still finding interesting places I've never seen before despite playing on the map for a year.
Aevos just doesn't really compare stylistically and just seems very milktoast. I hope we get a sort of map expansion soon - maybe another big island chain or half-continent to mess around in to add more variety for exploration's sake.

@Asutto And in that they succeeded. Aevos as a result simply feels as if everything is a few steps from the staff road as a result, which I personally do not find as appealing. I do not think Aevos is bad by any means, only that there are things that I personally would have changed to make different areas of the map seem more geographically distinct and stand on their own.

i dont want to walk thru 2k blocks of scenic shit to get to somewhere i wanna rp at, yh it's cool to pass by and look at and maybe /sreq is this an event site? but i personally can't name any one person i know that has said they'd rather have that than not have to spend upwards of 15 minutes walking to somewhere that's either empty or closed. peak map design is just king's road athera but prettier
