  2. This is kind of an unrelated tangent that doesn't address that this is a feat that locks a magic slot, which is more in-line with what a CA would do.
  3. I triiiied to get behind this, but the more I consider it, the whole 'locked slot' thing really just feels like an unneeded restriction. The question is: Why does a Cursed Child need to act in a specific way so much that it needs to have the same push as a full-on Naz? They're not a CA. They're not demons that come with extra powers. No other plain feat costs entire magic slot(s) to have access to because feats are typically niche flavors, and everything that does take magic slots is.. Well, a magic that gives your character some sort of advantage in exchange. That said, I think this comes from an expectation other people put on Cursed Children to all be big, important characters in the Naz/Deific communities. Really, you don't need to trust them to do a specific thing, because they don't actually have any skin in the game until they deliberately choose to. Freedom is good. Especially if fringe-groups and cultures around them are going to form, which they definitely are already. #LET THEM BE VVIZARDS!! (Or alternatively, if they're going to have locked slot(s), a way to justify that COULD be to just... give them some hellish powers. An auto boon-bane. Malflame that hurts them maybe? This kind of just exacerbates the problem of Feat-Magic bleed here though and it'd be a pain to write so I'm not touching it.)
  4. +1 When I was learning on my Tawkinist, the Juliet's potion was the FIRST thing my character learned. Which was neat and all, but totally not necessary. To the average character, it's just a Really Bad poison that actually kills you. This change could honestly be fine if it was JUST the Juliet's potion that's tied to being on the PK clause, but eeeeh.. We run into the issue of Tawkinists who can't kill their own creations that way. I think that wrapping homunculi up into needing to be DEEP into Tawkin is a good change. As it stands now, anyone who wants to play a full-on Tawkinist AND have full access to their deific magic just needs to say, "I'll never learn Kloning and just monk revive forever" for 0 risk and all the reward, which really takes away the impact of learning this abomination-craft. Having Homunculi tied to Klones like this puts more value and reason on people to not cheese the PK clause, so I support it. The average Tawkinist isn't going to be making a lot of Homunculi anyway. ALL OR NOTHING BABY!!!!!!!!!
  5. HOLY BASED +1 HOWEVER, I'm going to give a hard agree on removing the magic slot thing; the 'temptation' Cursed Children face toward being driven toward going Naz or choosing a Deific magic to subvert their curse should be wholely an IRP push that is given to them based on the characters around them, and such a push already exists for Cursed Children without the slot restriction. The hells already call for them, and the addition of these mental effects further pushes them toward that path as it is. They're weird, strange, and ostracized in most locations as a reminder of what the hells can do to someone. As somebody currently playing a CC, I love the idea of having the curse persist throughout their bloodline as a permanent reminder. By having two slots locked from the start though, it severely takes away the freeform potential of this and diminishes the impact of going that route as a choice. FOR example, you can't go fully into Bardmancy / Kani / Housemagery, or even clear the threshhold to make a Voidstalker! (A current possible route for escaping the hells) It also manually shoehorns them into the "follow your fate or subvert it" trope as a requirement if they are going to use all of their slots. If deific magic can 'free' them as a mechanic here, then why are they still not accepted by 'true' holy deifics? (I.E. Templars and Clerics) Anyway, Without any magic, Cursed Children ARE just weird-looking freaks who are only vaguely connected to something greater, and they should be allowed to follow whatever path they like with the knowledge that if they don't pick a side, they're doomed. This is especially true in this instance, where the potential for actual bloodlines is a possibility.
  6. I'M HERE Hello hi I'm the homunculus dealer. I'd be down to help you get this character made!
  7. Those memories of a troubled, forsaken boy clung dearly in the mind of the alchemist. Once, merely his doctor- then, a mother figure for him. Adopted though he was, Telemachus held a seat at her table worth no less than those of her own blood. Naith knew that the day would eventually come when they no longer jeered and jested with one another. When that letter came, it didn't soften the blow at all, however. She'd lost her son. "Love you, too, kiddo." --- "I don't care what you do, just don't end up like Telemachus." "You don't want to be like Telemachus, do you?" "Stay away from Telemachus." At first, there was rage. Terror. Before the man was a brother to him, he was an invincible obstacle of death. And yet, the boy that lashed out at him was welcomed at the dinner table as if he were kin, and for once in his short life, he felt at home. Four short years, and Telemachus had taught him more than any other. He taught him Brotherhood. Discipline. And now, most of all, Grief. There were still so many things that he wanted to know about his previously-estranged brother, and it never once crossed his mind that he would fall and leave him stranded in this world. There were still so many things he wanted to know. But even before Jackdaw learned any of that, he learned that this world was an unfair one.
  8. For a solid handful of CAs (such as sorvians and automatons), the creator has THREE slots that are on a 1 month OOC cooldown, or a 3 month OOC cooldown if all three slots are used. Why not just use these rules? This would provide a ceiling for the Tiefling Baby Factories out there AND provide Naz with a way to have regular-looking children who don't out them within 0.2 seconds.

  13. [!] All roles for this post have been taken. HOWEVER, if you are still interested in playing a sorvian, automaton, or a homunculus, feel free to shoot me a message! There will likely be more of these available in the future. Within the forests of Koyo-Kuni, where trees of pink and orange scratched and tore at the sky, the tinkerer’s village of Jun Lei bore an alchemist who shaped handfuls of clay betwixt large, rough hands. With an eye gazed upon all that was built, they saw it was good. The creator’s love for this world swelled. Questions laid unanswered. A new test was in order, perhaps. Piece by piece, the alchemist tore shards from their soul. They blew life upon them, and bode them to rise. GO FORTH, AND BRING JUSTICE WONDER ERUDITION Soon, the Mothen Sect of Ak’vei would walk the land. OOC This is a recruitment post for SORVIANS! You’d be playing a part of a trio dynamic within Jun Lei, a Koyo-Kuni vassal ruled by elven alchemists and shamans, with a Dark Elf clan heading the village. You can expect a wild variety of tones from this position: lighthearted and serious both. Those who are accepted to play these characters will receive a ready-made skin to jump straight in. Who is recommended to join? New players, and players who are interested in getting into fantasy-themes on the server! Our group hosts in-character lessons on various topics, and any questions on how to play a sorvian are readily answered. Essentially; we’ll be there with you on every step of the way. Our group is typically active from 3 PM to 3 AM EST, with some spatterings of activity during the other half of the day. To those interested, message halfirate on discord. (TAKEN) Malatur of Justice (TAKEN) Milinvas of Wonder (TAKEN) Morosha of Erudition BUT WAIT THERE’S ONE MORE!!! (TAKEN) BONUS - Automaton MK 1 Delver CREDITS BIG SHOUT OUT to MapleSunflower for the Sorvian Trio skins, and Sparkpowder for the automaton skin!
