Quick questions about Red Soulstone Pillars. GMs told me to ask a Dev since they don't know

As a town thats trying to be an active source of RP, soulstone pillars come into play. We're utilizng the red pillars, but running into issues with the spacing between them. For those that don't know, you can't have a red pillar close to another red pillar.

Issue is, we don't know how close it is exactly, and are stuck trying to guesstimate and make allowances for these spread out pillars.

Questions:

1) Why do red pillars even have a minimum range on them? If a group of donators wishes to utilize their pillars together, why can't they to better a settlement?

2) What is the minimum range between these pillars? It is very frustrating trying to find a place to put a pillar in a settlement and plan buildings and roads around it, only to be told it's too close.
