  1. -Damien deGrey peers at the poster with a slight frown. Reading over its contents thoroughly he nods once to himself and begins to fill out the required application- Given name(RP name): Damien deGrey (Skype name if you have one): N/a True name(MC name): Kamorage Race: Human Authentic magic user?(accepted magic user?): No. If so what form of magic ye use?: None, of which to speak of. Do ye seek adventure, knowledge, and companionship?: –Damien writes in thin, neat even script. - Knowledge is my goal, first and foremost. Adventure usually follows in knowledge’s wake, if you areto discover something new and unheard of before, one must jump headfirst into the unknown. Which is the sheer definition of adventure. Companionship i s always nice, I suppose. All applying will be apply for the applicant position. However should you pass that stage whatprofession might you take on? Note that if you want to learn magic you must speak to a Delver Arcanist personally: I enjoy books. If possible I’d very much like to be a book keeper. However, any pursuit of knowledge would be acceptable. I have an eager mind, and all I seek is toexpand upon the knowledge I already possess What combat skillshave ye? I dread to think of the day I’d have to ever lift a sword. I have not ever required the use of aggressive force to make ends meet. So none of which to speak. Short Response for all Applicants, write how ye would respond: 1.) You come across a massive ruin of ancient design, strange sounds and lights emanate from within. Damien approaches the structure with the utmost of silence, but not in stealth, it is merely his nature. He would peer through the doorway, tilting his head to one side. He notes that the coast is clear and moves to proceed forward; he takes slow and light steps. Damien studies the markings on the walls, if any, and attempt to discern their origin from the one of many history books he has read in the past. Upon discovering the source of the sound and light he sees that it is emanating from some sort of ancient magical device. Nodding to himself he at first studies it from a distance, and then would swiftly return to whatever ‘base camp’ had been setup prior to the ‘delve’ and ask for aid in a puzzle that was too large for him alone. 2.)While at a local bar you see two dark hooded figuresin the corner discussing in a whispered conversation. You can't quite make out what they're saying but you clearly hear the word "artifact". Damien, being the silent type, would merely sit quietly and observe the pair. Closing his eyes,he focuses on their voices. It is difficult to hear, but Damien clearly makesout the words ‘Artifact’ and ‘Mountains’. Judging from their attire and thethick layer of coal that coats their exterior, Damien would deduce that they are miners. Listening closer he would hear them discussing an artifact they discovered while working, they mention not knowing what to do with said artifact. Damien frowns slightly, and sips his drink, noting what the two miners had said. Pursing his lips in thought, he files the information away in the recesses of his mind for use at a later date, if necessary. 3.)Walking down the Anthos Highway you come across a masked man with a sword threatening a hooded figure, claiming he is a necromancer. Damien would back away swiftly, and seek the aid of the local guard. Damien is a non-violent type, and prefers to seek the most peaceful course of action, when possible. If no guards were available, he would simply walk in the opposite direction, avoiding the situation entirely. He does not do the best, when under stress.

  3. Hey man, you still here?

  4. We just want to ensure the safety of the Mallowyn, as all who lay within the woods work together to uphold an air of mystery and peace. We want to keep the place surreal and mystical without the threat of war looming above us every five minutes. Those who lay within the Woods are peaceful and do not want conflict with your group, or any other, which is ultimately what we fear from groups we do not fully know. Frankly, as we view it, your group is an aggressive military group who is getting foot hold within our home, the Mallowyn woods. I just want to be for certain that you are not going to turn your sights against the Nawari, or any other groups who inhabit the woods. We do not want to lose our homes, our roleplay environment; and the place we've been developing for the past six months. Those within the Mallowyn are a family and we only want to help each other out. We just want to make sure that you are not going to jeopardize the safety of our family or our home.
  5. We were unaware of the charter until you posted it. The fact remains it shouldn't have existed in the first place. A game moderator told me that in order for a charter to be viable when within 200 blocks of a pre-existing charter, consent needs to be given from the owners of the charter that was there first. Consent was never given. Frankly, the two charters that are bordering us, which are both within 200 blocks shouldn't really exist (at least not in the space they currently confine). I am not trying to sound like a jerk; just the area is starting to feel a little claustrophobic. And I don't want any conflict with your group, or any military group for that matter.
  6. I have the sudden urge to play poke'mon games on my DS. ._.

  7. Since nobodies touched on it, what is the rule on the two hundred block distance between plots now?
  8. There doesn't seem to be much respect for the monks these days or the old warclaim system, especially with all this ooc hogwash going on. According to a friend of mine war claims have been accepted on monk lands, with or without monk consent for some time now.
  9. After reading this messy warclaim I just came in to say the Nawari Camp isn't abandoned, thanks. Just cause you don't see us on everyday doesn't mean meaningful roleplay doesn't occur.
  10. I nearly always try to work through things in roleplay. However, as was stated before me; "A good roleplay justification often times becomes a roleplay excuse." I have seen several people, in warclaims, warp or smudge roleplay and the details that lay in to fit a warclaim that is not valid. Only at the coaxing of a large number of people are the claims reversed. I think the war claim system should be more thoroughly analysed for one, and should considered on a case by case basis.
  11. I will make this as concise as possible as this has nothing to do with the thread at hand. I let the roleplay run its course, I ended up being tortured for a long time, until I was simply thrown out. I would have probably died if not for a passerbyer. But, they only threw me out because I refused oocly to become a slave, which was asked in ooc. When I promptly refused, he got upset. The slave contract was only thrown at me because of an emote I made on the king's road. They didn't grab anyone else. They grabbed me because they enjoyed my roleplaying. There were probably six others there. None of which were actively roleplaying, just watching. Which feels like a punishment to me for putting some effort into my emotes. If it's not fun for me, then how is it worth it? That's how I see it. Secondly, The Nawari are politically neautral, and gypsies. Where would they acquire the coin or the resources to pay mercenaries, let alone an army to fight for them? The Nawari live in tents, don't keep proper arms on themselves, only enough to slay the beasts in the woods, the only one who wears armor that is above leather regularly is our blacksmith. We wouldn't be adequately ready for battle, as we are not expecting war in roleplay, nor should we. As we are a peaceful, colorful and festive trade group. We openly trade with all factions and nations who wish for it, but again this was merely an example to make a point. We are currently under no threat, I am simply speaking to what I see would benefit the broader community and tiny roleplay niches like mine. You should not force other's to roleplay a way they are uncomfortable doing, or simply do not want to. You should not have fun at the expense of others'. And most importantly you should not uproot roleplay groups from their center of fun and culture.
  12. It is not for the sake of avoiding war. It is not for the sake of being all powerful. It is for the sake of having fun. If I don't have fun roleplaying war, then I should not be forced to do so. I believe being forced to roleplay a certain way is wrong. For example, and this is slightly off topic, but back in Aegis a member of the Undead tried to force my character, Levant, into a slavery contract, under the premise of me being a fair roleplayer. When he told me it was pretty much powergaming when I refused, I got slightly mad. "You can't avoid slavery like this in real life," he told me. I told him it was not the way I wanted to roleplay, because that wasn't what was fun for me. This, in a sense is the same. I don't want to roleplay war, I don't want to defend my land, or attack other's land. All I want is for people to be able to come to the Mallowyn Woods, look at the beautiful trees, and colorful tents and be happy and roleplay the slice of life roleplay. I don't mind the occasional bandit or two or three, but I hate having the looming threat of having a warclaim set upon my friends and I simply because a nation has some greedy fingers. Especially when the Nawari have done nothing themselves to provoke such a scenario. However, I digress heavily, the point of those examples was to stress not everyone is cut out for war time roleplay, and should not be forced into it. It is not for the sake of avoiding war, or for being invulnerable, it is about that certain faction having the right to roleplay they way they want to, the way that is fun for them, especially if it is at no expense to others; save solely for only breathing on the land other's want to occupy. War should not be avoided if it is actively provoked, but if a peace loving group that are pacifists want to exist, and build something wonderful without fear of having all their work, their roleplay environment, and their home ripped out from beneath them, I believe that they should have every right to peacefully decline an invitation for war.
  13. Many smaller roleplay groups are not based around in game conflict or war. These roleplay groups tend to be based around their own selective culture and peaceful roleplay. Forcing war upon them, with war-claims or other means is something I don't find acceptable. Roleplaying is centered around all parties having fun. If one group does not want to fight, or have their group killed off or taken over, they should not have to have their roleplay uprooted and stripped from them. Player's tend to get attached to their land and work, and I don't see it as very much fun to have a warclaim imposed upon you. A player's faction, or the circumstances surrounding their roleplay are just as important as a character's life to the player. For instance, my character Levant is one of the leaders of the Nawari Gypsies. This community, the Mallowyn Woods, and the atmosphere are my life in Lord of the Craft. The only time I see myself giving up that land is if we have a map change. My roleplay is centered there, strongly. I would hate to lose it. The Nawari are a peace loving trade group, who are politically neutral. The environment around my character, and the other characters who exist within the Nawari, are vital to our roleplay. Take the environment away, you take away my roleplay and my fun. This is wrong. Not that my land is being taken from me, I hope it never will be. My main point was, environment and circumstances surrounding a player and his or her character are nearly as or just as important as the character itself. Roleplay should never be imposed, it should flow from the center and be fun for all. Taking away other's fun for your own fun shouldn't be allowed either. Simply because you enjoy a certain way of roleplaying doesn't mean other's do as well.
