  1. [beautiful work! I am very interested on how this roleplay can be progressed? Is there a group of forest dwarves rping in a single area?]
  2. [Well.. while you where gone the Braveaxes and Blackaxes made a "pact" aka merged and became one clan. I'm hoping that most of the Grandaxes will become apart of the roleplaying environment of Kal'Anart when it is opened. Hopefully this Monday or Tuesday.] [And Longbeard, can you change the trail names so it represents something else besides the dwarven gods that Tyrion made up. I'm trying to have the mountain dwarves be Paragon worshipers like Urguan or Urir. I'll talk with you over ts to get the finishing touches on this, but all in all, great work!] **Looks over to Oghren** "Ahh t'at'd not beh a problehm. I'll call on Longbeard 'n 'is guild ov lumberjackers fer cuttin' th' wood 'nd git Skath fer all yer craftin' needs whether it'd beh tools er repairs. Also, ah believe Skath 'as a good deal ov bread in reserves, ask 'im fer t'at as well."
  3. ((Alright, so expect to see a lot more of these little excerpts.)) Screams and shouts echo throughout Kal'Anart. An elderly dwarf looks from a large tower at the top of the hold, and scans the cityscape. He spots his target below and yells out, as his face is pumping red, full of rage. "EY DARAIN! GIT UP 'ERE!" The latter dwarf, looks up and fires a few quick shots from his bow. Infuriated Bazain runs down the tower with the ferocity of anger pumping through his veins. Bazian runs out through the gates with a switch firmly grasped in his hands and yells some more. "DARAIN YAH GIT OUT 'ERE 'ND REPAY YER DISRESPECT!" The mountain grows silent and cold between the various shouting. The only other noise that can be heard is the animals at the farmhouse. Bazian turn towards there, hoping to find the dishonoring dwarf. Bazian slowly walks into the house, floorboards creak underneath. He scratches his beard and finds that hole again where Darain cut a piece off of. Pumped full of fury once again, Bazian lets out a shout. "AGGHHH! DAMNIT DARAIN!" Dirt falls from the ceiling and steps can be heard over head. Bazian slowly brushes the dirt from his shoulder and looks up. Hey furrows his brow, and rushes out the door with a switch firmly grasped in hand. He looks up at Darain and yells. "OI! Stop t'ere!" Only to have him run off again back into the city. After a game of cat and mouse was played for a while, Bazian stop chasing him and threw his stick to the side. He heads back to his temporary home and doeses off leaning next to some stone outside. The afternoon sun shines brightly as Bazian layed there, until a shadow is cast over him. Bazian awakes from the sudden change in light from Darain standing over him, diamond armour shining in the light giving off a sparkle. He rubs his eyes and wipes the drool from his beard, then clears his throat and beings to speak with him. After a long discussion of Darain's actions, Bazian offered him one last choice, rather than losing his Thane position. He said, "If yah can bring meh seven able bodied fighters t'er act as guards fer meh 'old, ah will allow yah t'er keep yer position as Thane 'nd regain yer 'onor." Darain nods and agrees to the deal and sets off down the road. A new quest begins for the younger dwarf, as Bazian, in his irritated state, tries to piece back his beard with some slimeballs.
  4. *Reads the first line on the parchment and quickly yells out* "Ah feast! Finally! Weh beh gitten ah feast! Wit' Ales!" *Bazian Laughs heartily as he reminisces on all the good memories of feasts*

  6. ((We'll miss you longbeard :( If you want I can set up a google doc for the trails so that we could collaborate on them.))
  7. ((Alright, so I was going through some of my old google docs. when I stumbled upon this. I am NOT taking any credit for this, any and all credit is to our awesome lore master, Grabthar. I hate to see his work go un-used, so here it is.)) -=Mountain Dwarves=- Physical characteristics The mountain dwarves are on average half a foot taller than other dwarves. They are the most common dwarf in all of Asulon. They have light skin that is fair or lightly tanned and green or silvery blue eyes with long light brown or red hair, growing white or gray with age. Most males and even some females have large beards and mustaches. The females are slightly shorter and less heavy than the males Psychology Mountain dwarves are a cynical and gruff people, but they are, despite a reputation to the contrary, fatalistic, still possessing some hope for the future. Typically, mountain dwarves take time to trust and even longer to forgive but the dwindling of their race has led many to be more open to other ways of thinking. Mountain dwarven attitudes have in the past been typically divided between the Recluse and the Wayfarer, two separate schools of thought amongst the race, though since the Fall of Karik this separation has begun to erode. The Recluse, like the Cave Dwarves believed it best to take an isolationist policy towards other races, fortifying their mountain homes and continuing their ancient ways, while the Wayfarers have been more adventurous, seeking their fortunes on the surface world. However, while mountain dwarves have not always been as open-minded as they are today, there is a long tradition of adventurism in the race and many young dwarves, particularly since the Fall of Karik, have hoped to find glory in doing great deeds in distant lands. Less self-interested mountain dwarves have also taken to the adventuring life to reclaim ancient strongholds or treasures long lost. Whatever the case, most mountain dwarves who venture beyond their homes are fighters or hunters trained in personal combat, leaning on the strong martial traditions of their people against the orcs, humans, and elves that threaten the race. Experienced dwarven adventurers might well go on to join the Irehearts, while students of the ancients might become Blackaxes. Wielders of the arcane are fairly rare, however, since mountain dwarves distrust magic. Culture Traditionally, clan allegiance and caste placement meant everything among the mountain dwarves but as their civilization has declined so has the importance of these identity constructs. Although blood lineage is still a mark of pride for a dwarf from a particularly strong clan, personal accomplishments have come to mean more practically than the old ways, which seem increasingly irrelevant. Among the Recluse, traditions remain strong, but there is an increasing number of mountain dwarves willing to leave the mountains for a life as adventurers or craftsmen among humans. Family life remains a prime concern for dwarves, however, and while elders play a diminishing role in childrearing, the relationships between parent and child or siblings remain as strong as ever. Most dwarves are literate and are taught to read at an early age, before being handed off to an apprenticeship appropriate to their caste. In the workplace, mountain dwarves are taught to work both for not only themselves and their family but for the greater whole of their clan and most dwarves are, while proud of their work, fairly humble and avoid ostentatious displays of decadence. After a mountain dwarf has expired his or her ability to work physically, they remain a valued part of the community for their experience and wisdom and when they die they are honored with funeral rites appropriate to their legacy.

  16. -=Kal'Anart=- We are the Dwarves of the Northern Mountains -=Govermental Structure=- The Hold is run by the Lord, he has final say over anything. The lord can only be of Grandaxe decent and had spent some time on the elder council. The Elder council are the Lord's closest advisers. They are also the ones that choose whom may join the ranks of the Grandaxe Clan as well as help the newer dwarves find living space and bring good roleplay to the Hold. Lastly, there are the Overseers. These people are hand picked by the lord to help run the Hold in a more business standard. Mountain Lord: Bazian Grandaxe- Total control of the hold, has the final say. Leads the Clan into battle. Must be in the bloodline of a Grandaxe. Elder Council Members: Hodor Grandaxe, Skath Grandaxe, Bruski Grandaxe- These old and wise dwarves are of Grandaxe decent.
