Walking through the vast fields that surround the landscape, Bazian eyes up some nearby pines. Approaching the rough exterior of the trunk, he feels along the bark for an angle at which to befall the tree. Picking up his ax, he gives a few good swings and the old pine falls with a thunderous crash. Bazian makes short work of the rest of the pine and collects what wood he can carry and takes it up Mount Anart. Approaching the the large stairs to the gatehouse, he calls of a younger lad to carry his burden of freshly cut pine as Bazian is too old for such tasks. Bazian enters the hub of the town, dwarves are coming and going as the mountain side is being chiseled away by picks. Families claim homes in carved out areas in the mountain face while others build theirs of timber and bricks. "It is quite a sight, watching us dwarves work", Bazian thinks to himself. After talking with some friends over an ale or two at the Hardrock Tavern, Bazian slowly climbs the stairs up to the uppermost part of the mountain. Turning left, he looks over the hold in construction lead by his newly found Clansbrother, Oghren. After a quick chat, Bazian turns in the opposite direction and heads to his temporary abode for the night. This clan of Mountain Dwarves was forged from the old clans of Braveaxes and Blackaxes. These clans dated back as far as the reign of old King Charles of Kal'Urguan. This makes the clan one of the oldest right behind the Ironfist Clan. The Braveaxes and Blackaxes originally held joint control over Kal'Urguan's military but in response to the shortcomings of the High Council and the absence of the newly crowned King Gotrek, they decided to create a War Council in order to have more control over their own affairs. After the failures of the High Council under two Irongut Kings, the Braveaxes and Blackaxes worked together in a military coup to take power from their former rulers, for the betterment of the Dwarven Kingdom. This proved a success and the clans were able to forge the first Grand Council of the Dwarves, initially consisting entirely of Braveaxe and Blackaxe clansmen and led by Grand King Thorik Braveaxe. They ruled the Kingdom for years to come, achieving great feats while in power, notably the numerous military victories against Krugmar and the complete redesign and reorganisation of Kal'Urguan into a dominant military, economic and diplomatic power in Aegis. While the reign of the Grandaxes is now over, their legacy continues to exist and have an impact on Dwarven life, even to this day. Now with a hold of their own, they seek to restore the old sense of honor and glory that once existed in their ancestors. Honor and Glory The values of honor and glory are greatly upheld by the Grandaxe Clan. So, what is honor and Glory? Honor is what you fight for, your brothers, respect, your homeland. Glory is the fantastic feats that a dwarf can accomplish in his lifetime, as all dwarves aspire for greatness which is achieved through glory on the battlefield, in most cases. It used to be, in the olden days of Aegis, that if a person dishonored or disrespected a Blackaxe, that person would be forced to their knees or slain, either of which would regain the Blackaxe's honor. Such is not so different now with the Grandaxes. A dwarf must show respect and loyalty to their elders and all brothers. Usually, after a raid or a battle, the most outstanding dwarf on the battlefield will be recognized at a feast that follows every battle. This dwarf will take a seat with the elders as a special guest, as the feast is in his honor. Art of War The Clan has an affinity for the art of war. These mountain dwarves are skilled in the art of axes, swords, and crossbows, but most renown by the blade of an axe. Their love for war is greatened by their intense hatred for orcs. Orcs have been the dwarves almost natural enemy since the beginning of time and they still are enemies to this day. Since Kal'Anart be so close to orc territory, tensions have never been higher. Raids and bloodshed goes back and forth between the two warring societies. Ever since Khaz was sacked, Bazain swore he would have his revenge, and revenge he will get. Paragons are dwarves that where once alive, that had obtained such amounts of honor and glory in the first life, that they have become godly. It is the aspiring hope of every dwarf to one day become a paragon or be with the other paragons and risen dwarves at khaz-A-Den'trumm. **Looks at the over whelming number of "Ayes" for Grandaxe. Bazian slowly gets up, using his cane as balance, and raises his arms to get the Clansdwarves to clam down.** Alright lads, it appears t'e meh t'atd weh 'ave reached ah agreement. Weh will join t'e Braveaxe 'nd t'e Blackaxe Clan tugedder in brot'erhood! Weh will forge ourselves in t'e name ov t'e Grandaxes, t'e name t'at weh will all carry wit' us! **Pauses for a moment as the Clansdwarves cheer. Bazian rips off the top of a barrel of ale and dips mugs into it and passes them around. Bazian raises his mug up high as ale drips down off the rim of the mug and down his arm.** "'nd now, meh new brut'ers. Let us 'ave our first drink ov ale as t'e Grandaxes, t'e greatest Clan in all ov Asulon!" **Bazian tilts his head back and chugs the whole tankard of ale. He then lets out a large belch and gives out a hearty laugh.**

**Turns his head to Longbeard** "Well if yer t'e eldest t'en aye, let yah be t'e leader. It'd beh up t'er yah Braveaxes t'er choose w'ich un ov yah t'er 'elp lead t'is new Clan."

"Ah believe Gimrik beh yer leader, eh? So t'e new clan beh run by t'e current leader ov t'e Braveaxes 'nd ov t'e Blackaxes." ((Grandaxe sounds good to me and there's already a truehammer clan in Alras... the names just sound too close. Bloodaxe doesn't make too much sense since we are not all blood related and it kinda sounds a bit... evil.. lol. What is everyone else's opinion? I've made this thread a poll so that we can see where the general consensus lies. Please, if your not a Braveaxe or Blackaxe DO NOT vote in this poll.))

**Guides Grim and sits him next to Bazian on the stone ledge. Turns his head to Gimrik and greets him with a smile.** "Ahh Gimrik, good t'er see yah, been a while! W'at say yah on t'is whole merge t'in'?"

**Bazian sees Grimherst walking by and calls him over** "Oi Grim! Glad t'e see yah 'ere. **Bazian gets up slowly, gripping his cane, and walks over to Grimherst and puts his arm around him.** "Lads, t'is beh t'e newest ov meh clansdwarves, Grimherst."

**Noticing the silence of Broski, Bazian gets back to the point at hand.** "So lads, t'er speed t'ins' up 'ere, I move fer a vote. If yah move fer a mergin' ov t'e Clan, say Aye! W'at say yah lads?" **Takes a another puff from his pipe as the dwarves give their responses.** "'nd if yah say Aye, w'at name s'uld weh call ourselves." ((We're looking on something with "axe" since both of our pervious clan names both had the word "axe" in the end of it. Some possible names that we have listed already are -Trueaxe -Twinaxe -Bloodaxe -Nobleaxe -Proudaxe -Battleaxe Also I drew up some plans for the Hold that we will be constructing if the land gets distributed to the Clans. **Bazian snorts and wakes himself up, finding himself dozed off and leaning on his cane, drooling a bit.** Sorry 'bout t'at lads, I tend to doze off from time t'er time. Harhar. **He wipes his mouth, turns his head and noticing Broski.** Ahh Broski! Glad to see yah around! **Motions for Broski to join the group of both their clansdwarves.**

**Lights his pipe and sets his cane to his side** "Now Longbeard, yah are t'e eldest ov t'e Braveaxes, eh? W'at do you t'ink ov t'is merge? Our clans are alike in many ways yah know."

**Bazian smiles and nods at the two Braveaxes** "Ah beh good Longbeard, it is nice to see some familiar faces wit' all t'ese new dwarves around." **Turns to the other Braveaxe** "'nd yah lad, t'is beh t'at very meetin'. I beh Bazian Blackaxe eldest ov t'e Blackaxe Clan."

((If you are not in the Braveaxe Clan or the Blackaxe Clan, I ask you not to post on this.)) **Bazian sits down on the newly chiseled stone in the city of Mount Ire. He leans over to his brother Skath and asks him to help him gather the two Clans so they may discuss some important matters. Skath nods and does so. Bazian slowly grabs his pipe and puts it to his lips, awaiting the other clansdwarves to show.**

**Cain sits atop a tree that he is the process of cutting down and notices the newcomers looking around. He smiles and mutters to himself something about the populance growing.**

*Bazian gets shoved aside by Mili as he rushes passed him out the city gates. He turns and see his face charred from the burns that scar him. The old Blackaxe turns and faces the crowd witnessing the departure of the old and loyal dwarf.* W'at 'ave yah dun?! 'ave we become so savage t'at we culd beh put on par wit' t'e orcs? *Spits on the ground after he says orcs as they are disgraceful creatures.* Mili 'as been wit' yah since t'e olden days ov Aegis to t'e tough times yah 'ad when yah moved t'e Holm! T'e turn so quickly on yer own bluddeh brot'er is an act ov treason in itself! 'e 'as been un ov t'e most loyal 'nd trustworthy dwarves I 'ave eva seen in meh many years t'at I 'ave dug wit' t'e dwarves 'nd yah t'reatin' 'im wit' death 'nd treason ova a refusal to change 'is name because ov 'is pride fer 'is clan! He walks off out of the city, trying to calm down his anger.*

**Upon seeing the eye of Iblees, flashes of old memories in Aegis run through Cain's mind. He steadies himself a bit with the use of a nearby tree. He puts his back against the tree and slowly slides down while intently reading the black pieces of parchment, not looking away for a second. After reading the message, Cain regains his composure and turns the paper over. He cuts his left hand with a small blade he keeps on his sash and begins to write with a feather.** It has been a long time since I've last heard the name Iblees. Oh the chills that go down my spine as I reminisce of the events that have long since passed. Ever since the crossing, I have not felt those chills that only our lord could bring. I have long awaited for the day of his second coming. I must meet with you. **The blood starts to fade near the end as Cain's hand clots the bleeding. With one swift motion, he stabs his hand with the feather. Wrenching with pain, he signs his name at the bottom in fancy calligraphy.** -Cain **Cain spots a small fox near by and takes the opportunity to ****** it. He takes it by the throat and presses the knife across his neck. He lets the blood spill and the stench of death set in. In a matter of minutes, the place is crawling with crows, which he gladly attaches the letter to.** ((MC name: cuztodd))
