  1. What beh yer' name? Praxedis Goldhand What position are yeh applyin' fer? I'd like to be a Shop Merchant and/or a Travelling Salesman Have yeh ever been a merchant? Aye, I've been a merchant since the earliest days of Asulon. Before I returned to my dwarven homeland, I ran a sucessful mining shop in Hanseti. Once I moved back to the Kingdom, I ran another mining shop in Karik. How long have yeh been in da' Kingdom? As my family left the Kingdom while I was a young child, I lived among humans for many years. I returned to the Kingdom as an adult, about 60 or 70 years ago, back when Paragon Kjell ruled in Mount Ire. ((Late Spring / Early Summer 2012, IRL)) Why should yeh beh selected fer' dis position? As a Goldhand, the merchant life flows in my veins with the blood of my fathers. I've a knack for the transformation of fine ores and minerals into minas. My two previous mining shops have both been successful, and I know I could do it again, either inside the bustling halls of Kal'Azgoth, or out in the world of the humans and elves, bringing the fruits of dwarven craftsmanship to the rest of Anthos for a tidy profit.
  2. *Praxedis sits calmly and silently for most of the meeting, mug of ale in hand, listening intently to the arguments of his kin. As a lull arises and the bickering voices die down for a moment, he speaks up.* Gulroid, ah first want tae say that ah agree with the decision to move our clan tae Karik. It's alreadeh ushered in a new age of prosperity and common purpose fer our kin. Ah onleh 'ave one concern: what of the moines below Alras? Ah've spent a lot of toime below ground there over the years, and ah kin tell ye that the riches down dere have onleh begun to be tapped. With the new ownership of Kal'Alras, will we still have access to de moines underneath? It'd be a damn shame to let all the ores and minerals down dere go ta waste. This is an even bigger issue roight now, since we still have nae functional moine in Karik. Kin we sort out some sort of arrangement with the new owners to allow Goldhands continued access to de moines?
  3. Region name: karikshop 1 Bid: 5 Diamonds = 1750 minas 40 Obsidian = 3000 minas 750 minas cash Total = 5500 minas Name: Praxedis Goldhand (PraxedisG)
  4. *looks over at Grimloth, but grits his teeth in determination.* Ah'm sorreh to have tae be competin' with ye, cousin, but that shop's going ta be moine. *Digs deeper into his sack to pull out more gems and rare ores.* 'ere's mah new bid, lads. And there's plenty more where that came from! Region name: karikshop 1 Bid: 5 Diamonds = 1500 minas 10 Obsidian = 1500 minas 1500 minas cash Total = 4500 minas Name: Praxedis Goldhand
  5. *Praxedis strolls into the auction hall.* Ah'm not sure if anyone 'eard my last bid fer the first shop, so ah'm gonna make it again. Ah'll give ye 1500 minas plus 10 ingots of the foinest Alrasian gold. Mah total bid is worth 2500 minas, lads! Region name: karikshop 1 Bid: 1500 minas + 10 gold ingots@100 ea. = 2500 minas total Name: Praxedis Goldhand ((Didn't see this added as the highest bid on the first page, so I'm making it again.))
  6. Region name: karikshop 1 Bid: 1500 minas + 10 gold ingots@100 ea. = 2500 minas total Name: Praxedis Goldhand
  7. *posts a reply* I've been trapped in a mine cave-in for a few days, but I've managed to dig my way out. I'm glad to see the Goldhands populating the great halls of Karik, and I've already started to move my goods out of Kal'Alras. (I lost power in my apartment for a week due to Hurricane Isaac, but as of today I'm back among the internetted.)
  8. MC Name: PraxedisG RP Name: Praxedis Goldhand Current Skills: Praxedis's two main skills are Mining (100), and blacksmithing (70). The others are fairly average and not particularly noteworthy. How will you benefit the Company? Praxedis is a master miner, and have been supplying the Goldhands and Kal'Alras with minerals and ores for several RL months now. He's also been working on improving his smithing skills, and can usually smelt the iron and gold ores he mines. He's also an experienced merchant, having operated a mining shop in Hanseti for quite some time before returning to live among the dwarves. In fact, he's been thinking of opening up mining shops of his own outside Kal'Alras as a way of drumming up more business for the clan, so this trading company would mesh perfectly with what he's already trying to do. Do you comply to all the rules and promise to abide by the creed? Absolutely
  9. *Praxedis Goldhand stumps up to the notice board in the Kal'Dwain market area and fixes a broadside to its surface with two heavy blows of his hammer* To my Irongut neighbors and comrades of Kal'Dwain, I've been past your market often lately, and I'd like to ask about setting up a mining shop in one of your market stalls. If you're taking on new merchants, I'd be happy to pay your 2000 mina asking price. I'd be able to supply you with the finest iron and gold ingots, coal, and lapis blocks, and in time I hope to be able to supply diamonds to you as well. I'd offer you the fairest prices you're likely to find, and would also eventually provide the residents of Kal'Dwain the opportunity to sell me some of their minerals. Please let me know what you think. - Praxedis Goldhand [Written without Dwarven dialect, since I've always assumed the dialect was more of a spoken accent than a written dialect.]
  10. I would be happy to supply you with iron ores at your offered price of 25 minas per ore. I also have a large stockpile of iron ingots I could sell you, if you are interested. I live in Kal'Alras as well, so I'd make a convenient supplier. Praxedis Goldhand
  11. MC Name: Praxedis Character Name: Praxedis Profession: Miner (Level 100), and Merchant Have you read the clan history? : Yes, I have. Bio: (I know it's not necessary, but I'm including it to give a bit of extra info.) Praxedis has only the faintest of memories from his earliest days as a small child in the halls of Kal'Urguan. He remembers that his parents were traders, which meant they spent much of their time traveling the surface in search of new markets for their goods. He has memories of being strapped to his mother's back while she tended the family trading post in Kal'Rog, and of accompanying his father on trips to Kal'Alras and even further afield. He remembers little else of his parents. On one of their trading expeditions from Kal'Urguan, Praxedis and his parents were waylaid by a gang of highwaymen. His parents were killed, and Praxedis was left to fend for himself. After a youth spent largely alone, scavenging in the wilds, he fell in with Gaius Marius and became a sariant knight of the Teutonic Order. After the fall of Aegis, Praxedis rose to become the head miner of the new southern land of Hanseti, and he opened a prosperous ores and minerals shop in the capital. Still, his mind remained troubled by his ignorance of his dwarven heritage. When Paramount Kjell put out an edict for all surface dwarves to return to their homeland, Praxedis resolved to return to the halls of the dwarves to find out more about his family. Intrigued by tales of the trading prowess of Goldhand merchants, he had begun to suspect that his parents may have been members of the clan. What are your characters ambitions? (become famous merchant, head guard, etc.) Since he has experience as a master miner, Praxedis hopes to play a role in the refurbishing of the old mines of Kal'Alras. He also misses his old mining shop back in Hanseti, and has dreams of becoming a successful ore and mineral merchant within the clan. What kind of experience are you looking for in this clan? (friendship, rp experience, etc) The character Praxedis has always been a bit of a loner; his lack of connection with his family and dwarven past is a big part of that. I'm hoping that he can find that sense of community and common purpose with the Goldhands.
  12. Name: Praxedis Titles: Current: Member of the Dwarven Mining Guild Former: Head Miner and Minerals Trader of Hanseti House interested in: Noble House Extra comments: As I worked on minin' out the city, I gather that I'd have a regular house comin' to meh. I also have a sizable quantity of diamonds, gold, and iron ingots left over from me days as a trader, and if ye'd allow it I'd be happy to give these to the kingdom in payment for a noble house.
  13. ((MC Name: PraxedisG)) ((How long have you been on the server?: Since August 2011)) ((Do you enjoy RP, if so, why?: Of course! It's a chance to meet new folks and participate in an other society. Much more interesting than regular ol' Minecraft...)) Your Name: Praxedis How skilled are you with the pick? I've been a miner for most of my life, and I don't think it's too prideful to say that I'm among the very best miners in Asulon. ((Mining level 100)) Have you mined in any other prominent mines? Have you been part of another mining guild or group?: I was the head miner of Hanseti for many years, and designed and operated the mine there. Do you have any family in the guild who you can use as reference?: I fear I don't. I was raised by humans, so I know nothing of my dwarven kin. Do you intend to follow the guild rules and provide a reasonable amount of ore each week? Absolutely. Always and without fail. Other Information: I've lived alongside the humans for most of my life as the Head Miner of Hanseti. I've served alongside many humans and members of other races in the Teutonic Order, and I'll always consider them to be my friends, my comrades, even my kin. My fond memories of Hanseti will never fade, and I will forever honor the memory of Hochmeisters Gaius and Samuel. But of late, I've become aware that there's something missing. I know nothing of my dwarven family or my dwarven heritage, and this gaping hole in my life has long been cause for sadness. I hope to remain welcome in Hanseti from time to time, but it's time for me to return to to dwell in the fabled halls of the dwarves. I'm sure I can become as valuable a miner to Mount Ire as I proved myself to be in Hanseti

  15. *Praxedis sits at the writing desk in his private chambers above his mining shop in the capital of Hanseti. The lamplight plays against the reflection of the drifting snow falling outside his window. All night, Praxedis has been pondering the King's edict he'd seen posted on a message board as he traveled along the Southern Road earlier that day. Finally, a look of determination and resolve passes across his face as he takes quill to paper and pens a letter, ready to hand it to the first dwarf he encounters at Mount Ire.* King Kjell and my fellow dwarves, I've lived alongside the humans for most of my life as the Head Miner of Hanseti. I've served alongside many humans, elves, and even orcs in the Teutonic Order, and I'll always consider them to be my friends, my comrades, even my kin. My fond memories of Hanseti will never fade, and I will forever honor the memory of Hochmeisters Gaius and Samuel. But of late, I've become aware that there's something missing. I hope to remain welcome in Hanseti when I visit from time to time, but it's time for me to return to to dwell in the fabled halls of the dwarves. This edict clinches it, then! I'll heed the call of King Kjell! Yr. obd't servant, Praxedis *With his letter finished, Praxedis climbs into his bed to prepare for the last night he expects to spend in Hanseti for quite some time. In the morning, he'll begin the long journey towards Mount Ire*
