I wrote an RP fighting guide that was pretty extensive, but I don't know if it was archived. I might write a full general RP guide...thinking about it.
Generally, play to lose. Always make sure it is clear in your emotes how one could avoid a strike, and recognize how you could or could not. There's definitely a proper guide somewhere...
