She spent years - day in, day out. If day even fully existed where the Princess now found herself, but nothing. He was not there, nor would he be. In his final act, he did the one thing the pair had vowed to never do -- he broke their twin rule. Anastasya would be forced to continue her meager existence in the seven skies, simply watching her brother roam, without her. She would not truly be alone, as their family, her family stood beside her; but as far as she was concerned, she was. For what was a twin without their other half.

WHAT WAS

How long have I been sitting here?
As it was, each time she found herself situated upon the bench of her instrument, she seemed to lose track of time. The piano was quaint, tucked into a small corner of their modest home, but it was hers. She knew that Eirik could have provided a larger one - a better one, should she desire, but there was no need.
There was something odd about the air in the house today. It seemed warmer, more encapsulating than the last time that she had found herself situated upon her bench.
The seasons must be changing, that’s all
She didn’t know when, but she found herself in the kitchen then. The salmon had been done for some time now, the roasted fish waiting for her family to return from their days. Margrait and Saoirse always complained that they ate far too much fish, but her mother would routinely remind them that they would miss her cooking when they went off with those boys. It saddened Anastasya to think about her children leaving her, and so soon, but she knew it was how it had to be.
The walnuts!
She recalled, her attention returning to the undressed cake sat upon her often bustling kitchen counter. Although their house was mainly filled with girls, they had the appetites of horses, and their Mother often found herself labouring within the space for most of the day to ensure each of the children remained well fed. Walnuts had been a favourite of Anastasya and Andrik growing up. Her twin Andrik, and herself could often be found holed up in the fort their father had built for them with a small sack of walnuts to share.
Their father had spent weeks with them preparing their fort. The lumber cut from the trees within their yard. Their father had decided to expand their farm area into the woods, and promised the twins that they would be rewarded for helping him in his work. Day in and day out, Anastasya would wake to Andrik shaking her, a groan escaping her lips
“Can’t we just sleep a little bit longer today?”
Andrik had always been the early riser of the pair. Despite their similarities in everything else, that difference in their person stayed consistent throughout their lives. Andrik, awake at dawn - Anastasya, asleep till noon. But, every day was the same, and every day they would (eventually) meandre from their room to greet their family.
Petra was gone by then, and the pit that formed in Anastasya’s stomach upon seeing her vacated chair grew with each day that passed. Although her true mother stood - fiery hair reflecting in the light of the early sunrise, Ana yearned to tell her sister of her days, her advice had always been much better than what Annika could provide.
“She hates me” Ana would echo to the eldest of the sibling bunch
“She loves you, she just has a strange way of showing it.” Petra would reassure without fail, swiping any tears from the often far-too-emotional girl.
Ana was grateful, at least, that Sig remained still. She had not seen her brother often as of late, he would be gone from the table nearly as quickly as the twins arrived, but he lingered in the kitchen this day
“Shouldn’t you be off chasing Emma already?” Ana poked. Sigismund had fallen into a routine of leaving at dawn to finish his chores, to save time to meet the girl on the other side of the River. It was disappointing for the twins, to have to share their siblings, especially their brother, with anyone else, but Ana was happy to see him so pleased. There was nobody in this world that she cared about more except maybe Andrik, but that didn’t count. Twin rules.
“Shouldn’t you be getting ready for Eirik to come chasing here instead?” Sig retorted in jest, as a laugh crept from the youngest of the bunch, who sat situated at the kitchen table.
“Ana has a boyfriend, Ana has a boyfriend” chanted Marus as Annika sliced his toast into perfect triangles, ignoring the other three - Marus was always her favourite.
“Walnuts” she spoke as her gaze lofted to the now decorated cake. She often grew distracted while cooking, if her children were not present to occupy her mind. Emma had told her it’s a matter of patience, but Ana thought she merely lacked this skill her sister-in-law possessed. Despite the countless lessons given throughout the years, Ana still found her cakes always seemed a tad lopsided, and perhaps a smidge under-baked.
“Who wants a perfect cake anyways” Isabel would always be the first to speak
“It adds character mam” Freya would reassure
“I don’t even like Auntie Emma’s cakes,” Eileen echoed.
They would always praise their mother in unison, being the first three to return after a day’s work. Ana became very aware of the time then, her attention drawn to the setting sun outside their kitchen window as the pit in her stomach grew nearly intolerable.
Where are they?
She was used to Margrait and Saoirse returning home late - Mags often went off with some boy, usually a different one each day whilst Saoirse followed suit, much too caught up in her sister’s antics to worry about curfews. But Isabel, Isabel was always the first through the door, followed by the twins and Eirik. It had been this way as long as their eldest was old enough for the market, and the twins were old enough for the wharf.
“They’re okay,” a voice cut the silence in the room as the door to their study opened.
Alexander was often holed up within the room, working out the earnings from his sister’s market trips before dinner. Eirik often said he took after her, but Ana found that far-fetched. The boy was the spitting image of his father, other than his eyes. His brown hair fell in waves as he moved to his mother’s side, his blue eyes meeting hers.
“They’re okay,” he repeated with his gaze fixated on his mother as he waited, but for what, Ana was unsure.
“They’re okay,” he continued.
“What do you--” Anastasya was cut short.
“They’re okay.” Once more, his arms reached out to envelope his Mother’s small frame as she thought for a moment.
“This isn’t … this isn’t right,” she spoke, that sense of dread continuing to spread as she glanced about “Your father, your sist--”
“Mam, they’re okay,” he spoke firmly this time. He was very patient, another sign of his father’s contribution.
“Alexander, you … you’re dead. No -- no, you never lived!” Ana affirmed, taking a step back from her boy; her only boy. She remembered then, what had happened. Her firstborn. His loss had wracked her for years, but Eirik assured that his death was not a punishment from God. She never could agree. God was the reason they could not have any other boys. She had forsaken him, and he punished her for it.
“I know,” he spoke nonetheless, their son remaining as real as any she had seen before. His voice steady, his eyes -- her eyes reflecting back at her, full of sorrow.
“This isn’t right, you shouldn’t be here. Where are …”
“They’re okay,” he affirmed, for the last time
“Alexander … Am I?” She questioned, a sense of realisation hitting her. There was a reason they had missed dinner. It was not their time yet.
“Yes.”
“They’re okay?”
“They’ll be just fine.”

Ana was such a fun character to play, but sometimes you can’t stop a stray walnut from landing on your plate. Anastasya and Andrik learned that the hard way.

The Royal Wedding & A Barovifest Long Overdue

It is with great elation that after a certainly joyful betrothal feast that the Grand Prince of Kusoraev and his betrothed, Lady Amadea Ulyssa, can formally announce the date of their union to one another. The pair have known one another as lifelong friends since childhood before sparking the match of love during the season of Lifstala. The couple have since been inseparable, going from strength to strength and enjoying one another's company. The pair shall follow the example of many of their fellow Lifstala matches and now be wedded within the Basilica of St. Henrik.
To accompany the Royal Wedding, the couple wish to celebrate Barovifest, or the day of Serfs. On this day the boundaries of Nobility and Commoner shrink and all share in the pleasantries of wine and one another’s company. Taking its roots from the Ancient Pagan God Haruhtrow of the Haeseni Mythos, the festival seeks to remind all of the common man that upholds the pillars of kingdoms, monarchs, and humanity. For greater information upon Barovifest, the Crown does suggest the readings of its history by Otto the Tarcharman.
I. JULIYAFEST
On a warm summer's day out in the gardens of the Nikirala palace, the eligible maidens and suitors of the Haeseni Courts are invited and encouraged to partner up for an apple picking contest. Roam or race around the grounds in search for as many apples as you can, where they might be fallen in hedges or ripe off a branch. The competitor with the most apples will receive a certain apple-shaped reward, and a heavy purse.

II. BAROVIFEST
Hauchwundarbuyr, the Great Boar Hunt
A ceremonial hunt, traditionally held a week before the start of Barovifest. The hunt, including both noble and common man alike, shall take place in the forests surrounding the capital, the bounty of which shall be brought back and prepared for a feast for the kingdom.

The Feast of All Souls’ Eve
Following the great hunt, all shall be welcomed in the square of Karosgrad for a feast. An expansive table shall be prepared, packed from end to end to allow the socialisation between all classes. The feast shall be accompanied by a leading prayer by Mother Maya.

The Festival
The Karosgrad streets shall be painted red, yellow, and black to welcome a festival for the ages. Stalls will be erected for the purchase of Maskoez and various fruits and sweets shall be provided at the stroke of noon for Harulpolta - the battle of the fruits. Merriment and chatter, along with a drinking competition will conclude the afternoon’s festivities.

Ve Maskoez Ball
A Masked evening shall be held within the Karosgrad gardens, allowing those of all classes to shed their skin for a night. The identity of each guest shall be hidden by Maskoez - the traditional Barovifest mask. Citizens are encouraged to carve masks resembling joyous animals, and join the revelry in the blessed capital.

III. WEDDING & RECEPTION
Under the watchful eye of GOD, it brings great pleasure to announce that the pair shall be wed within the Basilica of Saint Henrik on the 10th day of Vzmey ag Hyff, 424. Invitations are extended to all citizens of the Dual Monarchy, and its allies.
Following the ceremony, the guests shall be escorted to the Haeseni Hippodrome, wherein a tournament will be held to name a new Grand Champion of Haense in honour of the newly wed pair. A feast shall occur on the tournament grounds, and guests will be encouraged to mingle and present the pair with gifts.

Skipping over the first section of the release, Amadea would recite the contents of the hearsay to her betrothed, Karl. Making a mental note to have soup delivered to Dorothea, she would conclude with a simple "Oh - I hope nobody else falls ill"

We bear heavy hearts as this notice is sent. This last evening His Royal Majesty, King Sigismund III, drew his last breaths in a final stand, his final act. His loss, so great in nature, will undoubtedly cast a shade upon the kingdom in this period of mourning. The Crown asks its people to remain strong and unified during this time.
In Remembrance of the late King, a service will be held in the Karosgrad square on the 6th of Tov ag Yermey. All subjects of the dual Monarchy and its allies are welcomed and encouraged to attend and memorialise the life of the late King.
It is still expected that in these solemn times that the privacy of the Royal Family, and the late King's loved ones is respected.
