By the time he was 45 he was in diamond mines and had to deal with the monsters in the caves. When Hassman started to change his life he was 79 this was when he had his near death experience, water was rising when he collapsed in a mining shaft and he was stuck through bedrock and it seemed there was no hope for Hassman, he thought of what he had accomplished and in conclusion he figured that he would be just a statistic in the dwarven mining companies death toll.
