  13. Luhzkov, the city Ascella would be pleased to sell you two of our cattle; we boast strong and meaty pigs! please name your price per head.
  14. At Ascella, Jack Mortis speaks inspiration to the men gathered at the gate; they have just now heard the news. "Brothers! the bandits of Salvus have taken more than land and loved ones." He stops, his mild and commanding eyes surveying the soldiers. "They have robbed the citizens of Solace and of Ascella of our confidencte! Yes, our strategies saved Ascella once from bandits, but it did not save our spirit! The people of Solace are shaken and broken... only grateful for a tomorrow with less suffering." Another pause, he catches his breath as more join the crowd. "Is this the legacy that Salvus should leave to their children? a level of anxiety and self doubt not seen since our ancestors fled Aegis?!" He grins briefly, his voice now resonating across the whole courtyard. Behind him the sun recedes into the horizon. "If we fail, what kind of world would those children rebuild? if at all?! could they progress, knowing that we had been powerless to reclaim their future? And what if that future saw another rise of dictators or bandits? Would our descendants rise to meet them in battle, or crumple in meek defeat at what they believe to be their inevitable extinction? For this reason alone, the dictators and criminals of Salvus must fall. For when dictators die, the power they took to the people will return to the people! We have to prove to ourselves that we CAN do it, and leave that proof as this war's greatest monument... The long hard road back to humanity, or the regressive ennui of once proud Aegis." No one starts a slow clap, and no tears roll down cheeks. No contrived bullshit, instead there is silence. Jack speaks for the last time in the speech. "This is the choice... it has to be made now." Then the uproar... the response of a hundred listeners. "HUZZAH!!!!"

  20. ((MC Name)):maxthebeast11 Character Name:Jack_Mortis Race:Human ((RL)) Age:13 Current Occupation:Trading nomad If any, preferred positions: I wish for a merchant position, and would very much like to be considered for manager of mercantile. Particular skills can be written here: Being a seasoned trader for most of my life, I understand the rudimentary and advanced laws pertaining to business when approached in a variety of ways. I've worked with an array of diverse populations, seeing as my trade has started at former Renatus and expanded to Alras, I have developed keen sense of personality when approaching someone for trade. I have explored all aspects of handling a job as a merchant and have found that selling products is quite easy! giving affordable prices and better service than your competitors will do you right every time. Of course I'm shrewd enough to understand that it is not as shallow as that, but that is one of the established rules I have that makes me a successful salesman. Finding out what resources are expendable for you will help you to establish a lower price than most will offer. As a manager, I could give others a broader understanding of how mercantile works and prove my efficiency in the field of business. I could constitute merchants under me the function that best suits them, and apply achievable goals for a profitable income. Signed, Jack Mortis

You give ambitions, hopes, and dreams to someone just as real as you are.(or almost) In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Metagaming is an experience in roleplaying in which a person acquires information shared with them through OOC or obtained otherwise out of character. Then they use this info in character to their advantage.Powergaming is giving a game devotion that it does not deserve, it is un-sociable and something most role players should direly stray from doing. (I based this on the prior knowledge that I had understood power-gaming was intense devotion and unnecessary time put into a video game.) (if this is my account name on the server then it is maxthebeast11) Character Name: Maurin Yngvi What is your Race?:Human,Male Biography: (I am hoping that this can be done from a third person point of view, if what I write is inadequate then please remind me of it.) Each time Maurin's father came home he would spread the word on his return journey, properly elaborated with each retelling, of the prosperous Minus he was permitted for his fruits and vegetables after he sold them. Each time, Maurin would look at his father so admiring that his gaze was just short of awe, and the words that struck him rung like harmonic bells. They worked in isolated society, Maurin, his mother, and his father, laboring on their small farm so that when they sold their goods that they might obtain enough pay to uphold their small abode. They resided quietly, away from the frivolous necessity of large cities but close enough to Galahar to sell their surplus of food each summer. Maurin received little education, told only of the undead by his parents. Maurin didn't understand the significance of their nature and evil, he only knew that he too, recognized them as a menace. Maurin grew with childish fantasies of one day visiting sparkling cities or perhaps meeting an Elf! (something that Maurin thought of constantly, setting aside any imperfections and believing that Elfs were things of benevolence and beauty, which is somewhat truth.)As he grew in age, Maurin's father began in teaching him the ways of the blade, so that either he my protect his family one day or act accordingly in generous defense of others. Maurin becam accustomed to the vigorous slashes and thrusts of his right arm, if he was put to it, he could defend himself in a long drawn out fight. When Maurin Yngvi was 21 his fathers age was affecting him, an age of his life when he would be passing on responsibility's to his son, including venturing to Galahar to trade their goods, something Maurin had looked forward to for his whole life. The time had come and Maurin was about to depart to Galahar to sell the years surplus. His journey went well enough. Maurin marveled at the city of Galahar, though his ignorance of city life didn't serve him well, he had made his first profitable run to the city, and with heavy change in his pocket he made his venture back home. The sights he would see upon his return would scar him forever... the charred ashes of his home lay in ruins, the crops burnt to a crisp and the smoke rising almost maliciously from where he used to live. He searched intensely for his family or even their bodies, but nothing could be found. He pledged to himself that day that his retribution would be swift, and if his family was still alive then they would have fled to a city somewhere near. So as he turned his back to his home, his eyes flared with malevolent intent as he thought of how he would punish those who had done this. With a heavy heart he stomped into the woods in search of his family and the people who had done them wrong. He walked steadily forward, his heels pounding heavily as they expressed the anger that could not be described with words, and as he walked he knew that the challenge that lay before him would be more difficult than anything he had ever done in the life that settled behind him in flames. (this was an extremely brief article, if you require something more sufficient then please tell me!) characters ambitions: Bringing pain upon those who had wronged him and his family and finding his loved ones that had disappeared. He has not thought out thorough plans after he accomplishes these things. Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? unhesitating, he rushes with haste to the aid of the elf and commences in intense combat with the bandits, hoping that these dark characters will know something of the horrors at his old home. (assuming that the encounter is finished but the bandits lay dead) Maurin approaches the elf, remaining ready in a passive stance. "Halt traveler!" the elf booms, still brandishing his sword. Maurin responds politely, gesturing his hand forward as a sign that he meant no harm. "Stay your sword traveler! I hail from the south" he spoke "I am looking for an old man and woman that may have passed this way, have you seen them?". The elf was shrewd enough to recognize the intent of Maurin's gesture and responded to him, sheathing his weapon as Maurin did the same in turn. "Beg my pardon traveler" he said, smiling inwardly "I was alarmed by your appearance, you don't look like a city dweller". "I am sorry though, no one has passed here for the past few weeks except for these bandit, I found them trying to break into my home". Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? Maurin nods hospitably towards the man and responds, "good evening sir, I'm here to browse your wares in ways of weaponry". The man smiles towards Maurin appealingly while beckoning towards the rack of weapons to his left and speaking, "I promise that you will find no better prices in all of Al'Khazar". Maurin surveys the rack and finding a blade with a sickly curve and deep wrought iron along the blade. The shop owner accorded Maurin a courteous smile as the long blade was strewn out along the counter. "A fine choice" the man spoke, graciously taking up the money that Maurin offered.
