"The Arcane Covenant remains neutral in this conflict, but would express it's interesting in finding a diplomatic solution before this spirals into open war." ~ Lorethos D'Salian

Lorethos, finally receiving the letter after the situation being explained, nods and slides it into his pocket. He writes on a letter and sends it out to all members of the Covenant and associates and any other messengers. "Ambrose has joined the Covenant as a Guardian. Ambrose and Keya are charged with gaining a friendship in Salvus so that we may have a way to speak with Enor better, in order to better prevent conflict between Renatus and Salvus escalating. I will return to Hanseti and attempt to meet the Hochmeister some time. I hope to be able to help diffuse the current situation before it grows out of hand. A public application to become a member of the Covenant will be created and available. In order to join, however, you must still be personally evaluated."
-
It is a replacement the FOA, but obviously has different goals then defeating the Undead (Though we will do battle with any inherent evils brought on by Iblees or any other). Our primary goal for now is to attempt to develop a peaceful climate in Asulon. I see the FoA as oath breakers. While I respect the ascended for what they tried to do, the violation of their own neutrality abounds in what I see as the sacrifice for peace for the sake of keeping themselves safe. Selfish, in other words. I desire as many old Ascended to join as I can get, but only if they are willing to remove their allegiance to Alras. They also must undergo the very harsh personal evaluation that I will perform, and I will permit only the strongest hearts, minds, and bodies into the Covenant.
-
It is possible. Meet with me at Aegis Keep. I will evaluate you personally. It is near the Cloud Temple.
-
Joining is a matter of principle as much as it is resources and ability. A person who can devote themselves absolutely to the cause of tranquility among nations and the defense of the innocent is a person who may be welcome here. That being said, competence and intelligence are important factors as well. It's a commitment, and we have limited space in the Covenant for those unwilling to put everything they have into it.
-
I have decided to turn the Arcane Guardians into a new neutral group as close to the Ascended as possible. As such, soon I will be asking all the members if they are willing to break ties with their nations and become absolutely neutral and devoted to the Covenant. Those willing to do so will be rewarded the knowledge and status as part of the most selective group of protectors of tranquility and charity in Asulon. Those who deny shall be removed from their rank and made 'Associate,' no longer an official member of the Arcane Covenant.

The Sanctuary Of The Arcane Covenant
HappyShackles replied to HappyShackles's topic in Asulon Roleplay Archive
Alright, sounds good! The ideal location for the Keep would have been inside of the Valley just on the opposite side of the hill that I have pictured, but I figured that would be a problem. If it's possible however, then that'd be a great thing to have! Or if at least I could get a path from the Valley to the Keep through the hills. -

TOWN CHARTER MC Name: HappyShackles RP Name: Lorethos D'Salian Village Name: Aegis Keep Why is your character starting this town? What is its purpose? Lorethos is forming the Arcane Covenant, a group he hopes to devote to diplomacy between nations. He would like a Keep to house the Covenant as well as to serve as a place as diplomacy somewhere near the Cloud Temple. What type of political system or leadership is within the town? A single Lord (Lorethos) will govern the area. He is the Sovereign of the Arcane Covenant. The members of the Arcane Covenant will have reserved rooms in the Keep for them. Workers and any who desire to reside and work at Aegis Keep will be permitted in whatever quantity is available, and be given free residence for their work. A Blacksmith will definitely be necessary, and a Farmer would be desireable. Miners, lumberjacks, and any other type of worker would also be desireable. The Guardians themselves will act as the police force, and at times the Guardians may use potential recruits to help maintain order in order to test their meddle. What sort of behavior will residents exhibit? (Race relations, nation relations, etc.) The inhabitants of Aegis Keep will be tested prior to being permitted residence for any sort of extreme prejudice or malicious intent. They will need to be fully competent by the standards the Guardians set for them. Those who do reside within will all treat eachother with respect. No one besides the Guardians are permitted to draw weapons within the Keep. Where would you prefer the town’s region be? Including a screenshot of the land would be nice (of game or map). Any other details (architecture, races, culture, etc): Will likely make an attempt at having similar architecture to the Cloud Temple if possible. The Covenant of Sanctuary This page is stained with a bit of ink that spilled onto the top left corner, but other then that it is prestine and well organized, obviously by someone well versed as a scribe. The Old Order (The Arcane Knights) I have been studying this old order, the Arcano Milehs (Directly translated Arcane Knights) for quite awhile now. I will now summarize what I have learned. Gatharas the Tranquil was a human knight of extreme fame at one time. He was a champion of the Humans as a whole, and fought in the worst of wars for them. As time went on, Gatharas grew weary and disgusted by the horrors of open and deadly conflict. He retired at the age of thirty five and decided to delve into the Higher Art, magic. He was naturally gifted, it appeared, and devised a method using both offensive and defensive spells to augment his skill as a Knight. He called himself an Arcane Knight, one capable of melding magic and physical combat into one enhancing his ability to defeat even orcs in single combat. With his studies done and his mastery of his newly developed skillset completed, he decided he had the ability to aid in the keeping of peace throughout the land. He forfeit his direct allegience to his nation, and formed the Arcane Knights. Realizing that some other nations were not fond of him, as he himself had done them great harm, he needed at least one member of the Order to originate from each race, subrace or nation. He grew mad with his age, however. He forced recruits to brand themselves with the Order's insignia, and they were beheaded if they failed before achieving Knighthood. Only three survived the training. Rexam Bor'bocal, an Orc, Dalos Silvaen, a Wood Elf, and Zaradin Stonehearth, a dwarf. The order was never formally recognized and never grew to much fame, due to the weakness and strictness of the order. Eventually, his three companions turned on him. He forced them to flee with his much greater strength, and a dozen other orcs returned along with the three companions. They killed him, and informed all nations to strike his name absolutely from history. That is what this journal says, Dalos Silvaen's journal. The New Order (The Covenant of the Sanctum) Philosophy The Theater is the philosophy developed by me, Lorethos DeSalian. The Theater is how the world perceives you and how you perceive yourself. Six stages, or different ways to perceive a person, inhabit the Theater. Each stage is held up by three pillars. The Theater Wisdom - Silence; For he who speaks too much or too out of turn is foolish. - Temperance; For he who endulges too much and too often is foolish. - Study; For he who does not seek to better himself and his knowledge is foolish. Compassion - Sympathy; For he who does not feel for the injured and broken is cruel. - Empathy; For he who does not seek perspective of another is cruel. - Selflessnesss; For he who does not put others before himself is cruel. Serenity - Respect; For he who intrudes on the business of others and violates a land's law is chaotic. - Patience; For he who is brash and in constant rush is chaotic. - Diplomacy; For he who lets conflicts go forth without speaking against it is chaotic. Valiance - Courage; For he who does not stand strong in the face of fear is feeble. - Verity; For he who deceives with malicious intent is feeble. - Chivlalry; For he who does not defend those who can not defend themselves is feeble. Vigilence - Observance; For he who permits himself to be oblivious is ignorant. - Caution; For he who is careless is ignorant. - Foresight; For he who does not look forward and predict is ignorant. Diligence - Pride; For he who does not make his work the best it can be is sluggish. - Focus; For he who is easily distracted is sluggish. - Obedience; For he who does not perform assigned tasks of fair nature is sluggish. The Cycle The Covenant of Sanctuary takes part in an operation known as The Cycle. In the Cycle, the entire Covenant except for Marshalls, the Sovereign, the Seraph, and any others who are under special conditions shall travel to each nation once each week ((OOC day.)) While in that nation, the members of the Covenant shall teach the Covenant's teachings, recommend the brightest and strongest people they find to joining the Covenant, and aid the people there how they can. Duties - Aid the people of that region in health with our healing, shelter in our embassies, food from our stores, and against immidiate threats such as bandits. Do not, however, aid their military force in any way if they are capable alone. We must not be seen as a part of them. - Teach the people of the region what the Covenant lives for and what it preaches; peace and the philosophy of the Theater. Be sure they know as much about us as possible, and do not fear or dislike us if can be helped. - Find the people of the region who are of strong heart, mind, and body and have a mind that would fit with the ideals of the Covenant. Refer them to Sanctum, where they may be evaluated by the Sovereign or Seraph and offered a position in the Covenant. - Record the people of the region's condition, how they react to the Covenant, situations arising, occuring, or ending in that region, and all of the things the Covenant did for the people of the region in a book. The Nations The order of nations that will be followed in The Cycle is as follows: Sanctum (Rest, Resupply) New Malinor Haelun'or Alras Karik Salvus Renatus Hanseti Repeat the order until the Sovereign and Seraph agree to alter it. If you are incapable of gaining entry into one of the nations or something is keeping you from proceeding, then stick to the schedule regardless. The Oath "I will protect to my own death those who deserve peace from those who seek to disturb it. I am a preserver of diplomacy and of tranquility. I am Serenity, Wisdom, Compassion, Valiance, Vigilence and Diligence. I now rise to the seat of ______ of Sanctuary." The Seats The Seat of the Sovereign of Sanctuary: Leader of the Covenant. Directs the Covenant and makes certain they don't stray from their path. Has the ability to promote and remove others from Seats as he sees is best for the Covenant. The Seat of the Guardian of Sanctuary: A male member of the Covenant who has achieved full membership and will be sent on more important missions. The Journals Of The Arcane Knight
HappyShackles replied to HappyShackles's topic in Asulon OOC Archive
This leather-bound tome is well kept, but there are both water and bloodstains on the first page to go along with the entry, beautifully written into the page with the most precise letters obviously trained on for quite a time. I do not know who I am anymore. I have journeyed and ran with the elves in their luscious forests, battled with and against the Orcs in their scorching deserts, and dove beneath the earthen lands with the Dwarves. I do not know if it is acceptable to call myself a Knight with my status at the moment. I have met several people on my journeys, and now Oren has fallen. If I had been there, maybe I could have fought and changed something. Instead I was delving into the world with a Dwarf whose name I don't even remember. And after those years of mercenary work, I am battle-worn and soul-torn. I never joined the Mages Guild, as my mother so wished, and I didn't stay and fight for Oren, as my father wished. I walk a path soaked in aimlessness, and it's painful to know that my entire family fell to the Undead while I was killing cave spiders. I regret this, but I know that Horen watches over me and guides me, and where I am walking is right. I met the High King of Alras, Syrio. I asked him what I would need to do to gain the title of Knight. I realize that I am not loyal to Alras as I was to Oren, but I was loyal to Aegis, and I could best serve Aegis as a Knight. As a result, the High Constable, Bito, sent me to protect his wife, the Harvest Duchess. Iblees attacked a few weeks after, and it was devestating and unexpected. Champions were sent to destroy the nether. They succeeded, it appeared, but afterwards Iblees summoned Dragons. They destroyed the Cloud Temple, and everyone was forced to escape to the Verge. Some of the champions died, as well as the one who brought the blessed axe to destroy the Nether. In the Verge, I searched for the Harvest Duchess. I am charged to protect her and that is all that matters right now. I'm a man of my word. -

Aurum. Aurum could be the plural, or you could call them Aurum Coins or Aurums.
