Aisthjey walks over to the fire and sits down by Lejos. "Hello old friend." he says smiling to hide his sadness and grim mood. Lejos notices his discomfort however and in his deep dwarf voice booms "Oi! 'Ere we 'ave th' finder o' th' third relic, may 'e slay a thousand Circle mongrels with the jawbone of a sydicate! Remember Kimo!" at this everyone around the little campfire cheered. Aisthjey smiled. It was true that he did find the third relic of elements deep in the caves under the fortress of Ira. For this he was like a celebrity around camp. The laughter around him cheered him up and soon he was joking and teasing like any other mage in the army. Then the happiness ended. On the edge of camp, a scream came. "Raid! We're under attack!" Fireballs suddenly flew, illuminating the black and magenta robes of the Circle of the Black Moon. One dark mage detached himself from the main group and headed for the tent where the relics were stored. "Oh no you don't!" exclaimed Aisthjey, who grabbed his staff and ran after the man. He arrived just as the Circle mongrel did. The mongrel held out his hand and shot fire from it. Aisthjey twirled his staff and formed a wall of ice in front of him, which he then formed into a wall of ice daggers. The ice daggers flew at the man, who shot a few quick fireballs and then ran away, the daggers embedded themselves in the tent fabric. Aisthjey sighed. There was always next time he supposed. Then he walked out of the tent. The raid was obviously a cowardly attempt on the syndicate's part to sieze the relics before any real fighting happened. It looked like the raid was over however, but the damage was done. Several tents were burnt to the ground, and men lay wounded and dying. Aisthjey wandered back to the firepit. On his way there he saw a group of people clustered around a body. Aisthjey got closer and was shocked to see Lejos, on the ground with a scorch mark ringed hole through his chest. It was a miracle he was still alive. Aisthjey got real close to Lejos. "Lejos no...you're going to be okay." Lejos laughed and then coughed "Don't lie to me Ice, it doesn't fit you, go kill some circle mongrels for me tommorrow okay?"
And with that Lejos the dwarf mage passed away. Aisthjey felt as if he had just lost an arm. Lejos was one of the few ones left from the beginning, and the only one he knew personally. Aisthjey was utterly alone. "I will avenge you old friend." he said, closing Lejos's eyes. Then he walked away and stared at the moon, which was slowly sinking. Soon, he thought.
