Regarding 'character creation'
Last words:
Without further ado, let's start this off:
Karvia sits at the edge of her bed and opens up the journal. She turns to an empty page and removes it with a quick tear. Dipping the quill into the inkwell on the chest to her left, she heads the letter and begins work on the body.
"To Lord Arbrek Starbreaker,
Father...it has been so long. You have probably thought me dead, but I live yet. I have finally found it! It is just as I had imagined! Soon the riches inside shall be for our family. I am sending this letter first to a close friend of mine, as the messenger bird I am using has been trained to find her property and her's alone. You should, I hope, receive this letter within a month's time. I will also enclose a map with the relative location of the temple.
A 'corpse' guards the entrance. Very little is left of the poor soul, just a suit of shabby armor, some bones, and tome found inside the chest plate. It's written in a common tongue so I do not think it will be hard uncovering any secrets that may be hidden with the volume.
- With love, your daughter Karvia Starbreaker.
PS: Hapsi, please make a few copies of this message and send each off with a courier. I want these to reach my father as soon as possible."
MAP:
Karvia bundles the letter and map together and wraps a ribbon around the two. Gingerly, she grabs the fat pigeon from its cage, ties the message to its, and lets it fly free into the sky.
FOUR WEEKS LATER, HAPSI'S HAVEN
Hapsi rushes inside, letter and map in one pudgy hand, cooing pigeon in the other.
"Thyst! Looky wut we got! We gots mail! From Karvia!"
The inn is silent. Perhaps Thyst is out and about. Shrugging, Hapsi shoves the bird into an empty cage and unwinds the letter. She disregards nearly everything in it except for portion wrote for her.
"Bah! Always askin' me to do things I can't do! But I do miss that girl... I'll see wut I can do..."
Hapsi retires to her room and begins work on copying. It's incredibly difficult for the bar maiden but she somehow manages.
She pokes her head back into the kitchen area. No guests, no Thyst, no sun. Time for bed.
She sets the original letter along with the copies on the bar counter for Thyst to find.
Though, that doesn't mean someone with sticky fingers couldn't happen upon them first...
((My intro is incredibly sloppy. I'll be in the shadows for now, up till you guys get to the 'temple'. THEN the real fun begins))
((sorry, on iPod, can't select what I quote))
*rips out the letter and reads it aloud*
Well I'll be! Riches it says!
