Is everyone waiting for the next map to play LOTC?
Narthok replied to NotEvilAtAll's topic in Miscellany
Agree with this. Also shout out, everyone should join us playing zomboid / valheim https://discord.gg/xSWbZ3Zt Nothing I do right now feels like it matters, I assume the map end event is this weird chromeweaver thing that is running around eating nations. Big snooze on that tbh. Not a fan of rail road events that you can't really impact or influence. Horde as a nation is super checked out atm as we wait for next map, we have been grinding big multiplayer zomboid and valheim in our discord. Doesn't help that for some reason the staff are releasing the new map after the summer for whatever reason. -
Thrall was very excited for more niche story events that are available to 10 people

It is clear that this rule change applies to religions. I would like staff to clarify if these rules apply to legal institutions like primogeniture, knighthood, clergy etc.

The church's position on marriage and the sacred act wherein humans, in reflection of their status of images of God are empowered to make life in their own image has been clear for a very very long time. Its clear in the New and Old Testament, the Church Fathers were also very clear on the subject. You can certainly disagree with them, but that will generally just place you in error and contradiction with clear scripture. Again, you can choose to live how you want and this is not the place to litigate the issue.

I broadly agree with the position Velkuzat outlines. There are certainly people who chud out and are just brutish for the sake of OOC. I think this contributes to the steady trend of babyfication that LOTC has been undergoing. Should people be prevented from using crass slurs? Yeah I don't really have a problem with that I think that is how LOTC has been for a very long time and think it is a general good. Should ooc harassment be prevented by staff? Yes that's reasonable. I do not like the babyfication of the server. And I do not like the degree to which disagreement is increasingly being prohibited by the platform. The Admins have obviously made up their mind on this issue though so the degree to which it is worth discussing further is negligible.

I don't play a canonist because I don't like the way that it mischaracterizes Christianity while holding itself out as Christianity with its symbols and theology. But to say that canonism has not had this be a significant element of its RP for a long time is to deny LOTC history.

Seems like it invalidates decades of human rp not to mention preventing people from rping analogues to the major abrahamic religions

Does this mean that IRP religions cannot prohibit homosexuality or prevent homosexuals from being clergy?

PRAISE YEMEKAR'S BALANCE | The Lonely Mountain Act
Narthok replied to Papa Rock's topic in Laws and Royal Edicts
Thrall frowns, having been unaware that Bakhu was Rex -
Restoration https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfnFEjjug1U The Great-Klamor has concluded, and the Horde has chosen a new future. The Elders and the Chieftains have chosen a new Rex and Hordespeaker. The Tyranny has ended. The Horde Law is binding on all citizens of the Horde. Citizens are entitled to the protections and are obligated to the duties described within the Horde Law. https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/246160-the-horde-law/ The Klamor The Great-Klamor brought together many in order to determine the future of the Horde of Many Tribes. The voices of the Horde discussed the following issues. Who will be Rex now that Skalvor has abdicated Thrall challenging Bakhu’s position as Hordespeaker What will become of the Mage-tribe and Bakhu’s war against them Should anything be done about the refugees of Vansk Does the word of an Uruk supersede the Hordelaw How are Great-Klamors to operate going forwards The New Rex The Great-Klamor has chosen Thrall to replace Skalvor as the new Rex of the Horde. The New Hordespeaker The Great-Klamor has chosen the Chieftain of the Hou’zi Yuan Changbiao as Thrall’s Hordespeaker. Chieftain Changbiao is the first Hordespeaker who is not an Urukim, a sign of the multi-cultural nature of the Horde of Many Tribes. War with the Mage-Tribe The War with the Mage-Tribe is over. Raids or attacks against the Mages, who are currently Horde citizens, are illegal under the Horde law. A grand trial will be held with the Rex as judge. Any crimes related to the mage-war will be dealt with at the trial. If the Horde-law was found to be broken punishment will be given. If tribe agreements were found to be broken punishment will be given. But we cannot forget that the law is the law is the law. If we do not have the law we, tribes of the horde, united by law, will just be the outcasts and barbarians that the world accuses us of being. No one in the Horde is above the law. Refugees The Policy of the Horde of Many Tribes remains unchanged. Those seeking refuge and safety will be given land and protection if they agree to abide by the Horde-law. The New Rex It has been tradition for many, seasons now that the Elders and Chieftains choose Rexes and Hordespeakers at the Great-Klamor. Similarly, the removal of a Rex or a Hordespeaker can also be effected by a Great-Klamor. The Voices with Weight The Klamor is a place of much noise and arguing. However, when it comes to a Grand-Klamor; a Klamor called for the purposes of SELECTING OR REMOVING Horde leaders, some voices speak with greater weight than others. This list is the current Elders and Chieftains of the Horde The Elders Elders are drawn from the ancient and wise of the Urukim to give voice to the different clans of the children of Krug. The current active elders are as follows. The Elders may recognize other Elders. Generally an Elder has seen over two hundred years of life and is a respected voice amongst the Urukim. Kaal Ghoraza Madoc Kretz Azhug Gul’ash The Chieftains The Chieftains are the chosen leaders of the various tribes of the Horde of Many Tribes. Their voices hold equal weight to the Elders and they are eligible to speak and to vote in Great-Klamors. The active Chieftains are as follows. Chieftain of all Urukim (Rex) Chieftain of Lotharia Chieftain of Heavensward Chieftain of all Hou’zi Chieftain of the Mage-tribe Chieftain of the Alamo Chieftain of the Sand-Fort Claims of the Rex The Rex of the Horde of Many Tribes makes the following claims as regards his authority. The Rex of the Horde is. The Highest Chieftain of all Urukim. All children of Krug are subject to his authority whether they live inside or outside of the Hordelands. The final authority on the business of the Horde of Many Tribes. The Rex may declare wars, make alliances and contracts, settle new tribes, pass judgements on disputes of Hordelaw. The defender of the Hordelands, citizens of the Horde and all Urukim. The authority of the Rex of the Horde of Many Tribes is limited by the following. The decisions of a Great-Klamor The Horde-Law Delegated Powers of the Hordespeaker The Hordespeaker speaks with the voice of the Rex and the voice of the Horde when the Rex is absent or when the Hordespeaker has been set on a particular task by the Rex. The Hordespeaker may sit in judgement of disputes over the Hordelaw. The Hordespeaker may bind the Horde to diplomatic agreements The Hordespeaker may invite tribes to join the Horde of Many Tribes, offering land and other inducements subject to the approval of the Rex and the Great Klamor The Voices with Power The Horde has grown a great deal and if the Tyranny and other previous Rexdoms have taught the many tribes united under one Law anything it is that no one soul is great enough to serve all of the demands of the Horde. Going forward the Rex will be assisted by the Horde Council, the Horde-Council is distinct from the Elders and Chieftains who are members of the Great-Klamor and cannot be removed by the Rex. The Horde Council will be appointed by the Rex and will assist in the governing of the Horde of Many Tribes. Each Master of the Horde Council has exclusive command over their jurisdiction subject only to overrule or dismissal by the Rex or the Hordespeaker and may appoint officers and assistants at their discretion. The Masters of the Council THE HORDE-SPEAKER - Chieftain Yuan Changbiao The Horde-speaker is the second of the Rex. In the absence of the Rex the Hordespeaker speaks for the Horde. The Hordespeaker may sit in judgement in matters of Hordelaw, may bind the horde to treaties, and may induce new tribes to join the Horde. When the Rex is present the Horde-speaker's primary task is to mediate between the tribes of the Horde and to bring new tribes into the Horde of Many Tribes. THE WARCALLER - Bolog The Warcaller is the supreme war leader of the Horde. In times of Peace the Warcaller assembles the greatest warriors shamans and mages of the Horde for the most dangerous of missions. These elite warriors, known to the members of the Horde as 'the spear' serve as the fist of the Rex, his dogs of war and punishment. In times of war the Warcaller will organize the Urukim and Horde volunteers to bring raids, pillaging and war against the enemies of the Horde. When the warriors of the Horde are hired on mercenary contracts the Warcaller will also lead and organize them. THE WARDEN - Chieftain Lothar Casimir The Warden organizes and commands the shield of the Horde a force of volunteers from amongst the Horde citizenry. The Warden and by extension the shield patrol the Hordelands to ward off raiders and bandits and build the gates and forts that protect the Hordelands from outsiders and invaders. The Shield is also responsible for enforcing the Hordelaw within the Hordelands and delivering those who have broken the Hordelaw to judgement by a Chieftain, the Hordespeaker, or the Rex. THE MOTSHAM - Elder Ghoraza The Motsham is an exception to the usual appointments on the Horde Council. The Motsham is chosen by the Sham-Klamor, a meeting of all the Shamans. The Motsham is responsible for managing the spiritual affairs of the Horde and solving any magical or occult issues that occur within the Hordelands. THE MASTER OF KEYS - Elder Madoc of Lur Clan The Master of Keys serves as the holder of the Horde's purse-strings. The Master of Keys collects taxes from the the capitol of the Horde of Many Tribes as wella s collecting the land-taxes from the various Tribe holdings. The Master of Keys is also responsible for funding the construction of roads and fortifications as well as paying soldiers. THE HOARD-KEEPER - Chieftain Luciiael The Hoard-Keeper is charged with ensuring the health of the Horde's Hoard. Including but not limited to supplies for soldiers, foodstuffs for sieges, magical weapons and items, knowledge in the library and all other necessary goods for the health of the Horde in peace and war. Apologies The Horde and the Urukim are fallible, wrongs have been committed, part of honour is recognizing when you have done evil and served the lie-speaker and to set wrongs right. Any tribes of soul who were harmed in violation of the Hordelaw by the Tyrant or his warriors during the Tyranny are welcome to come have words with Thrall. They will be compensated for the pain and evil that has been done to them and will be owed a favour, recorded in writing by the Rex. Summons Thrall speaks with the voice of the Horde and summons the following souls and Tribes to Lurakhan-goi, Capitol of the Horde of Many tribes. ALL TRIBES AND SOULS INVOLVED IN THE MAGES WAR As promised at the Great-Klamor Thrall will hear the evils and the goods done during the mages war and determine if there have been violations of the Horde-law. If there have been breaches by ANY TRIBE OR SOUL then punishment will be given. KROKU AND WARRIORS OF KROKU It has been told to Thrall, who is Chieftain of all Uruk Chieftains and who speaks for all Tribes of the Horde that the Urukim Kroku and his warriors have been raiding without permission of the Rex. It has also been told to Thrall that Kroku speaks to the Chieftains about bringing clan-war against the Horde and against the clan of Thrall. If Kroku has words then he must not hide in shadows and tongue-dance, Kroku is Urukim Krug-blood and must act like it. Kroku and his warriors must come to Lurakhan-goi and explain their actions. Thrall will determine Conflict in the South Thrall has had words with the Man-Rex of the Oren-Tribe. A treaty will soon be made between The Horde of Many Tribes and the Oren-Tribe. The Man-Rex has told Thrall that attacks by Drusco-tribe on Hordelands are forbidden and that Drusco-tribe did evil and broke laws when they murdered Urukim warriors. The Horde of Many Tribes thanks the Man-Rex for remembering the ancient alliance. The Shield Because the Horde of Many Tribes has grown much in territory and in tribes it is necessary to assemble a body for the policing of the Hordelands. Bandits must be driven off and walls and border forts must be garrisoned and built. For this Thrall has asked the Chieftain of Lothar to work with the other Tribes of the Horde to organize the Horde-Shield. The Shield will be a volunteer force, paid by the Horde responsible for the defence of the Horde-lands. The shield will patrol the Hordelands, build defences and upkeep said defences. In accordance with the Hordelaw non-uruk members of the Shield can NEVER be compelled to fight outside of the HORDELANDS. The shield is a purely defensive force. Volunteers interested in joining the Shield as soldiers or as engineers must speak to The Chieftain of Lothar-tribe or one of the officers of the shield, recruiting stations will be made available. The Spear In the days of Grommash there were many times where assassinations were attempted against the first Hordespeaker, there were many times where the Chieftains of the Horde had to leave the Horde-lands for war, for trade or for peace-words. These missions were usually escorted by the Keshig, the most elite warriors of the Horde who were responsible for protecting the Chieftains. However, the Horde of Many tribes has grown and the need for an elite group of warriors, the tip of the spear is more pressing now than ever. The Spear will be limited to the eight most elite fighters in the Horde, regardless of their tribe. The spear will be called on for elite rescue missions, escorts, lightning raids, monster slaying and all other extremely dangerous missions. The Spear is volunteer only however not all volunteers will be accepted. Bolog will serve as Master of the Spear and Elder Azhug will assist him as the Elder of the Spear. Any members of the Horde who believe they have the skill and competence required as well as a strong desire to serve the Horde and pursue the Dream of Grommash must speak to Bolog so that they can undergo the testing trials for the Spear. Shamans The Horde of Many Tribes is the beating heart of Shamanism, a way of life that has spread beyond the Urukim to the Long-ears of the cave, of the forest, and to the Oni-friends of the Oyashiman. Thrall is not currently aware of a Motsham and believes that the Elder Shamans must come together and choose a new Motsham from among their ranks. The Shamans must also listen to the wisdom of Ghoraza and work towards creating more shrines and teaching more students. Position on the Chromeweave https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/247285-the-order-of-helwyr-summary-report-the-chromaweave-advances/ The Horde has heard little about the Chromeweave, Thrall is told that it is a dangerous thing that threatens many tribes. If those who fight this danger are in need of the warriors, shamans and magi of the Horde then Thrall will give whatever support is needed.

Big fan. Excited to see new stuff

yeah I would prefer the system mentioned in your first paragraph. New map tiles are significantly bigger than this map's tiles btw.

I'm conflicted on it. As Orcs we generally have a specific biome that we want to claim the entirety of, but because we are a niche race raising funds is really obnoxious, particularly because Orcs are very anarchic and hate paying taxes. The way I've squared the circle is just by rply saying 'all of x is mine' and then ignoring people when they link me the tile maps
