  3. Grommash suffers a bout of PTSD as he remembers the freedom fighting forces of Haense invading multiple realms and blowing up multiple forces after surrender. Grommash looked forward to the continuation of the North. Aevos. Treaty. Organization. And hoped that the N.A.T.O horsocopters of Balinam would not be seen again for some years. Grommash remembers gunning down Balinese jungle Guerillas with his crossbow, but there were just too many. THEY WERE IN THE TREES!
  4. An Orcish Sultan would arrive at the Lurinese coffee-house, carried on a palanquin by his many attendants. The Sultan would be decked in many exotic fabrics, his raiment more a collection of long and disaparate lengths of cloth sewn together than any sort of cohesive design. Perhaps a collection of linen tributes from his many subjects. Dismounting from his palanquin he would enter the house of sin. Wrinkling his nose at the stench of opium and excess as he'd duck through the curtained door the master of the greenskins and the tribes of the desert would note his old friend, the well heeled Baron de Wett languishing on a large cushion in the corner. With great thudding steps he would approach the man of letters, crouching down and helpig himself to some of the arrayed dates and other exotic fruits "Ug" he'd grunt

  6. 14th of the Snow’s Maiden, 1962 The Rex of the Urukhim has agreed with the Rex of the Musin to offer all Musin shelter and protection within the Goblin Quarter of Orcgrimmar. The Mouserex and the Musin shall be afforded the following protections and privileges within the Hordelands by word of the Hordespeaker. THE MOUSETRIBE SHALL, BY THE WORD OF THE REX: ⇀Respect the laws of the Horde. This includes the assurance that the void will not be connected to nor practiced ⇀Attend gatherings and offer words ⇀Share meat, drink, and fire with the Rex and the Urukhim THE MOUSETRIBE MAY, BY THE WORD OF THE REX: ⇀Hunt, Fish, and Trap in the Desert of the Horde ⇀Travel freely within the desert of the horde ⇀Wage war according to the will of its Chieftain except against targets forbidden by the Rex THE MOUSEREX MAY, BY THE WORD OF THE REX: ⇀Attend Klamors and offer his words as Rex of the Musin ⇀Attend Clan Councils and offer a vote on council matters as if he is the head of a Clan ⇀Pass rules and commands within the limits of Mousetown ⇀Arm, armour and command the Musin as he sees fit as long as his commands not to violate Horde law ⇀Select a champion to fight for him if challenged to an honour klomp, seeing as he is disadvantaged by his small size THE HORDE SHALL, BY THE WORD OF THE REX: ⇀Protect the Mousetribe ⇀Allow the Mousetribe to hunt, fish and trap within the desert ⇀Allow the Mousetribe to move freely within the desert ⇀Grant the Mousetribe a parcel of the desert to dwell in
  7. Konichi'ug, I am looking to expand Grommash's family by three children. I would like people to lay our their ideas for the characters, names, backgrounds, personalities etc. The most interesting ones will be selected and you can do as you like with the character, ideally you create some interesting story lines and make some interesting dynamic rp. I think it is boring to give characters people you know / are friends with OOCly, and I think it is generally more interesting and chaotic to give new players and players who have not really experienced leadership avenues to access that upper level of LOTC content / national rp. I'm not really a fan of romance RP so I will be following the ancient Narthok tradition of using NPC wives. As a consequence there will be no mother PC for the child characters to interact with. For some colour. Grommash is a relatively young Orc (still under 30) who was thrust into the role of Rex by his predecessor the Ologarch (olog rex). He has managed to expand the horde and reform many of its institutions, while navigating the Horde through a brutal war that has seen many of its warriors die. While Grommash was raised by the elders to revere the path of Krug and to use discipline and willpower to suppress the Orcish curse that rages within him, he has begun to question to value of the path of Krug and has been tortured by mysterious dreams tempting him to 'embrace the gift of the orcs' (give in to the curse). You have complete creative freedom over char name, race, gender, backstory etc. If you want to larp as an adopted child, half orc half x etc, entirely your prerogative. All I ask is that people make something interesting. There is the expectation that you will be at minimum semi active on the character as I would actually like to interact with it and build storylines off of it. At the end of the day I will choose the character suggestions / storylines that I find most interesting. Character Name: Character Looks: (description or skin are fine) Character Backstory / personality etc:
  8. The Hordespeaker and giver of water summoned his Rukagoth and Rukas to the Rex rock, if they were to visit their desert neighbours then the feasting must involve the choicest calves and lambs of the Orcished herds nourished by the oasis. The finest head would be chosen, to be butchered and spiced upon arrival at the feast.
  9. 14th of the Snow’s Maiden, 1962 THE MIND OF GROMMASH Despite the involvement of the Horde in the Huwagh of the Midlands, the Horde is more populous and cohesive than it has been in centuries. Conflicts between clans are generally non-existent. Those that do exist are resolved through formal ritual. However, the new Horde has seen a marked absence of some of its elder wargoths, leading to a flood of young Urukhim who find themselves without a clan. In addition to matters within Orcgrimmar proper, there are also new developments within the broader Hordelands. The Hordespeaker has always been very clear that the desert belongs to the Horde and that all who live within it must do so with the permission of the Rex, due to the land’s strong ties to the spirits. It is not a situation of power, but rather a sacred land to all practicing shamans. However, the war in the midlands has led to a flood of refugees and new settlements establishing themselves within the desert. This has raised a problem for the Horde. To watch as what is sacred to the Urukhim be so nonchalantly squatted on, the land pillaged and disrespected, is an insult to the very spirits. To live in unity means to live in peaceful co-existence, with those who dwell within the Desert. While failing to even share meat and drink in acknowledgement of the position of the Urukhim is a grave insult, there are also those who would exploit the oases and thin the herds that roam the dunes. While the Horde has grown strong, the Horde must adapt to the changing world. Our lands are flooded with foreigners who do not offer respect. In the face of this rising tide of threats and challenges, the Horde must be prepared for change, while tackling those who refuse even an ounce of respect. The Hordespeaker publicly lays out the following goals for the Horde: ⇀Peace and stability in the desert. For new settlers to share a meal with the Rex in a display of respect for the sacred lands, and willingness to contribute to the advancements of the region. For those who refuse to share meat and drink while invading the Hordelands shall be known as disrespectful enemies. ⇀The fortification of the desert to protect not just the Urukhim but all of the desert peoples who call the Horde their home from the foreigners who seek to steal our lands, despoil our oases and oppress us. ⇀The unification of all peoples of the desert into a great union of the sands with a proper council of chieftains. The union shall be established in order to collectively address threats to all of our peoples, with each tribe capable of electing their own chieftain(s) to represent their people. THE HANDS OF THE REX In light of the rapid expansion of the Horde, the influx of many new clans, tribes, and peoples into the Hordelands, and their subsequent alignment with the Horde proper, as well as those who invade and attempt to steal our lands, it is necessary for the leadership of the Horde to change accordingly. The Hordespeaker henceforth establishes the Hands of the Rex. The affairs of the Horde shall be divided into the Right Hand, the left hand, and the independents. The Right Hand, led by the Dominus of the Horde, shall henceforth manage all internal affairs of the Horde. The Left Hand, led by the Vizier of the Horde, shall henceforth manage all external affairs of the Horde. The Motsham & Keshigoth shall remain independent of the Right and the Left Hand. The Dominus, the Vizier, the Motsham, and the Keshigoth will all answer directly and personally to the Rex concerning the matters that have been delegated to them. Furthermore, by the will of the Hordespeaker, the ranks of the Rex Council, the Goth Council, and the Lodgemasters will no longer be limited to the Urukhim alone. Non-Urukhim may now seek a seat on the Rex Council or the Mastership of one of the Horde’s Lodges. The Horde understands a Non-Urukhim as any who are not children of Krug by way of blood or by way of adoption through the honourary trials. Rex - Grommash After succeeding the Ologarch, Grommash has implemented many reforms and changes to the Horde. Many attribute the current state of the Horde to his leadership. Senior members of the Horde, such as Minto’Lur and Azfrai’Lur, have called the Horde the ‘New Horde’ to signify the beginning of a new era. Some know him as the ‘Uniter’ for his feat in unifying all the tribes and bringing all of the Urukhim into one settlement. Others know him as the ‘Red Hand’ due to his habit of signing all of his letters and pronouncements with a bloody handprint rather than the script favoured by others. His critics generally accuse him of keeping the Horde into the Huwagh of the midlands for far longer than necessary to satisfy Honour's demands. Others have criticized him for excessive and unneeded reform. Grommash has been expanding the Horde government, dividing the responsibilities of the Rex amongst the Goths and Chieftains, and has been pursuing a policy of diplomacy and friendship rather than isolation and aggressive tributing. He has, however, been uncompromising on the Orcish claim to dominion of the southern desert. The Right Hand of the Horde, governed by the Dominus, shall henceforth attend to all internal matters of the Horde. All Goths and Lodgemasters dealing with internal matters of the Horde are now subject to the supervision of the Dominus. The Right hand will ensure that the Horde is internally stable and prosperous. The Right Hand will see to the functioning of the Orconomy, the resolution of internal disputes, and the selection of Lodgemasters. Dominus - Minto’Lur Despite being born a halfling, Minto stands as one of the most authoritative figures in the New Horde. Minto earned the respect of the Horde for his leadership of the Orconomy reforms that enabled the fledgling horde to sustain a war production that would have otherwise been far beyond his means. His immaculate management of the Horde logistics, including the Horde miners and smiths, has enabled the Horde to punch far above its weight. With the resignation of Kho’Gorkil from the position of Dominus, Minto was raised to the role of Dominus by the Rex’s appointment. He is now charged with managing the internal affairs of the Horde, both in Orcgrimmar and in the broader Hordelands. Yazgurtan - [Unfilled] Krimpgoth - Drus With the revival of the Krimpgoth role, the well-travelled keeper of Urukhim culture has volunteered for Krimpgoth. Drus will be expected to teach the many Nurukhim the ways of the Horde and to lead the charge in the hunting and executing of the many whitewashed Uruks who live outside the Hordelands. Rukagoth - Ghan-Buri With the promotion of Minto’Lur to Dominus, a new master of the Orconomy had to be found. Grommash offered the position to one of his most loyal Urukhim. Ghan-Buri has long been one of the hardest workers of the horde, doing the thankless task of mining and shepherding the herds of the Horde to ensure that the warriors are well equipped for battle and that the builders, under the watchful eye of the Yazgurtan, have sufficient materials to construct Horde fortifications. The Left hand of the Horde, governed by the Vizier, shall henceforth attend to all external matters of the Horde. All Goths dealing with external matters are now subject to the supervision of the Vizier. The Left Hand shall ensure that the Horde is secure from foreign threats, whether by diplomacy or military prowess. Vizier - Kezmur’Vinteki Kezmur brought his massive horde of wild Urukhim to the Horde at the beginning of Grommash’s reign as Rex. He and his warriors have repeatedly proven themselves unrivalled fighters throughout the Hugwagh of the Midlands. The majority of the Keshig and many of the Rex council trace their roots back to the ranks of the Vinteki Urukhim. Kezmur has proven himself wise in the eyes of the Horde, giving sage advice on martial and diplomatic matters. Grommash created a new role within the Rex council, the role of Vizier, direct senior advisor to the Rex. Much like the Dominus, the Vizier is empowered to speak with the voice of the Rex in the absence of the Rex. If the Dominus is the right hand of the Rex, then the Vizier is the left hand of the Rex. The Vizier will be charged with the external rather than the internal affairs of the horde. The Vizier will ensure that foreign alliances are formed and maintained and will speak to foreign nations regarding the position of the Horde on important matters. As the Huwagh approaches its end, the Horde seeks to offer its warriors the service of others for a price. Those prices and contracts will be negotiated by Kezmur. Targoth - Gazdul’Vinteki After defeating the famous Crimson Death Apek’Gorkil in single combat, Gazdul’Vinteki assumed the role of Targoth. The Rex has charged him with reforming the Krughai and overseeing the completion of the new Horde fortresses. The new Orcish warlord has yet to select his elite war bosses to help him lead the Krughai. Much is expected of him. Master of Whispers - [Redacted] RedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedactedRedacted Motsham - Madoc’Lur Madoc’Lur has proven himself an able and moderate governor of the Shamanistic matters of the Urukhim. Presiding over the various Shamklamors of the Horde, Madoc’, assisted by Grothzark' Dom, has begun to solidify the role of the Spirit Lodge in both the Horde and broader spirit affairs. Empowered by the Rex, the Spirit Lodge and, by extension, its head incarnate in Madoc have begun to preside over buurz trials and conduct investigations into buurz lairs and whitewashes. Keshigoth - Apek’Gorkil The widely feared Crimson Death of the midlands, Apek made his name in the early days of the War of Ten by burning and pillaging the cattle barns of the human realms in an attempt to damage their ability to produce arms and armour. Widely considered to be one of the greatest duelists ever produced by the Horde, Apek has only lost to Gazdul’Vinteki. After a lengthy time as Targoth, Apek was defeated by the challenge of Gazduk. Recognizing his talent for warfare Grommash has appointed Apek to lead the Keshig. From now on, Apek and the Keshig will undertake the most dangerous of missions for the Rex and ensure he is safe from all assassins and danger. In accordance with the will of the Rex, the Goths and Chieftains of the Hordelands shall be given greater influence over the affairs of the Horde. The leaders of Urukhim clans and the leaders of Non-Urukhim Horde settlements and tribes shall be given seats on the Goth Council, where they will be entitled to vote on Horde matters. Any member of the Goth Council may introduce a matter to the Goth Council to be voted upon. Votes must be passed by a majority. The Rex reserves a veto over all Goth Council votes. While the beating heart of the Horde and the Desert is the Urukhim settlement of Orcgrimmar, there are members of the Horde who are not Urukhim and who do not dwell in Orcgrimmar. The Horde is more than its largest part; with this in mind, understanding that all people of the sands will eventually lend their voice to the council, the Goth Council is created and formally empowered. The following Goths and Chieftains are those recognized by The Hordespeaker as having seats on the Goth Council. Those seeking new seats must have their seats approved by the Goth Council. New Horde settlements will stand as an exception and will automatically receive a seat in the Goth Council. Sub-clans of Horde settlements may seek a seat on the Goth Council if they wish. Wargoth of Lur - Madoc Wargoth of Gorkil - Apek Wargoth of Vinteki-Vukh - Gundanat Wargoth of Yar - Gharak Wargoth of Akaal - Al-Borok Wargoth of Ungri - Popogoth Drekur Gobgoth - Gob’Gob Mousrex of Mousetown - Patches Chieftain of Sulia - Pamphilios Chieftain of Booktribe - Lah’enna Book-keeper Chieftain of Roche- Reynard de la Roche Chieftain of Badwawi - Taiseer Ibn Walid Al-Badwawi The expansion of the new Horde and the prevalence of Clanless Urukhim has led to the rise of various guilds and lodges within the Horde. Lodges are formed by Horde members of common interest coming together to establish an industry within the Horde. New Lodges can be established. The Forgemaster - Brunle The Huntmaster - Angath The Brewmaster - Twizz The Grand Alchemist - Slith’Ungri
  10. Hugh respect to @Diogen for the report. Lotc culture is absurdly ooc. The fact that people are getting torn into just for sending birds to my character is absurd.

I hope mods actually hand out some month+ bans for this behaviour.

Everyone whines about 'toxicity' but being called a mean name is far less egregious than the snarky passive aggressive back biting that has become ubiquitous on LOTC.

yeah some of the screenshots on that BR epitomize everything wrong with lotc nation politics and why the server can be such a miserable slog to play on because u cant do basic things sometimes without being chided oocly. "ooc prioritizes rp" give me a ******* break. im glad we've washed out this behavior way more than what it was like a couple years ago

  11. The Rex of the Urukhim would return the letter "The Gol'goz are welcome to return to the home of all the children of Krug. The foundries and laboratories of Gobtown have been working day and night on new contraptions and trinkets. Come speak to me in the Goi and we can discuss housing for your people"
  12. Grommash closes his eyes, sitting on the barren windy mountains, the calm chanting of Prauta'Lur calming the curse that raged his heart.
  13. I think things are fine as they are. Let stuff get resolved by players instead of demanding staff intervention. I have centralized orcs and orcish vassals mostly through rp and diplomacy. No orcs get to have settlements outside capitol. Vassals need to be in view of the capitol. It has worked very well for us. Humans could solve this problem on their own and sould.
  14. Grommash, taking not of a further violation of the desert sands without his consent moves off to speak with his warriors
  15. The rukahai of the Horde began construction of new ships, preparing to put to sea.
  16. The Season of War The human had returned, covered in the filth of the road, his clothes tattered from his long journey. Yet he had returned nonetheless. A member of one of the desert families who had offered service to the Horde speaker in exchange for access to the Oasis. The desert was not kind. Water was not free. Blood and steel were cheap. So they had shared meat and drink with the Hordespeaker. They had sat at the meetings of the clans and the tribes, their chieftains had given words. They were not Urukhim, but they were horde. The families and the tribes were each obliged to surrender a portion of their time each year to the service of the Horde. Human and Elfling chieftains were usually sent on diplomacy. For some reason the nations of the softer lands found them less grating that the gutural tenors of eight foot tall war machines. Yet only a handful of the party that had been sent forth had returned. In the sonorous mantongue - blah pidgin that so many of the desert families had adopted, the tribesman relayed the events of the journey. The Hordespeaker had sent forth the tribesmen to speak with the denizens of Lurin. Hoping to secure an exchange of primitive desert goods for the luxurious products of foreign lands. By some miracle, perhaps an upside down map, or the excessive consumption of Airag, one of the popular drinks of the Urukhim and the desert tribes, the tribesmen wandered into the gates of Aaun. The details were muddy. The words of the tribesman difficult to decipher, particularly for an already irate Orcish Chieftain. Whether it be the dealing of drugs or the failed conduct of diplomacy Grommash could barely discern. It did not matter. As the report continued the eyes of the Rex began to glaze, his lips moving, slowly at first, but then louder and louder. The primal chant echoing through the village, growing louder with each passing stanza as the curse of the Urukhim infected more and more of the Horde’s warriors. Grommash remembered his dreams. The beautiful voice, the goblet of purest crystal. The gift. Was the way of Krug truly the right path? In that moment he did not care. The beast in his heart did not rage, slamming itself against the psyche of the chieftain as it did so often when he attempted to suppress the bloodrage. It welcomed him, and he it. Was it even correct to call it a curse? How could a curse feel so natural, so freeing.. The world seemed clearer now. Devoid of the frivolities of reason and morality. Horde blood had been spilled. It did not matter why, it did not matter where. He had an excuse to spill blood. Bringing his horn to his lips he rode forth from the village, caring little whether his warriors accompanied him or not. The Warband descended on the open gates of Aaun, plowing through the city they put its citizens to the sword. If diplomats of the Horde were not respected, why should anyone be? As his consciousness faded Grommash chuckled to himself, the reasons mattered little the gift waxed in the heart of the Urukhim. Perhaps this freedom, this absence of all chains, perhaps this was the true way of the children of Krug. The fire roared deep in his heart as the final fragments of his consciousness faded, accompanied only by the beautiful yet terrible laughter of the gift giver. A collection of Urukhim sat around the fire in the center of the village. Some were bundled in great pelts, a bulwark against the biting chill of the desert night. The kubs of the village had yet begun to cry, the smiths and labourers had yet begun to ply their craft. Nor had the Warbosses begun to bark their harsh commands to the clans and the tribes that would inevitably fill the village in preparation for the war. No. This gathering was a gathering of the select few. The Hordespeaker sat barechested despite the chill. His famous ascetism rumoured to be his strange way of punishing himself, his way of remembering the warriors who had marched willingly to their death at his order. Warriors who had gone to their sires with great smiles on their faces, covered in the blood of their enemies. A good death. None would say otherwise. Yet a waste all the same. So much Orcish blood spilt for another human war. The Rabbitchildren of Horen may recover from such bloodletting easily, their great stone cities vomiting forth fresh legions to feed the fleshtide. Yet the Urukhim, the Horde, would feel the enduring pain of the War of Ten for many years to come. The absence of some of its greatest warriors sorely felt. Gromash shook his head. The sun had begin to kiss the horizon. Soon the season of war would reap its grim harvest. The innumerable bodies of the flesh tide crashing against the great cliffs of Drusco. Raising his eyes to his fireside companions the Rex would begin to speak “Brothers” He would murmur softly “It has been a long war. We began this war barely having emerged from the tents of our sires. Look at us now. Scarred, hardened by war. The Chieftain would pause, rubbing his hands together to ward off the cold, the eyes of his most trusted warriors turning from the vivid flames to the Rex. “Perhaps we have done the Orcfather proud with our actions. But if we are being truthful, I am enraged. You have all seen the black cliffs of Drusco. You have seen the black cliffs of Drusco. You have seen the warrens that the Haensemen and their slaves have carved into the rock. Many of you walked amongst those tunnels with me once the builders were forced to flee. Yet you have all seen the great herds of the sands and the plains to the west. You know that the wolf pack cannot stand in the path of the great herd of prey. Tapping his fingers along the length of his Hammer the Orcish chieftain would gaze into the eyes of each of his warriors. Already his blood had begun to boil, the laughter of the giftor echoed softly in his ears. He closed his eyes, breathing deeply through his nose. He would not embrace the gift, not now. The laughter fading from his sense Grommash opened his eyes, each of his warriors offered a nod, they understood well the meditations, the rituals of calming the heart and quieting the beast that raged within all of them. He continued. “Tomorrow the Fleshtide will emerge from their tunnels and come for the cliffs of Drusco. If Drusco falls, they will have free access to the soft heartlands of the Velands. The Velemen speak of field battles and Cavalry. They dream of another Westmark. I do not think they have realized that the fleshtide has adapted. But you know this. Each of you has shared meat and fire with me. You have heard my mind and I have heard yours. You have sat with me as the seers have read my stars, and I have sat with you as they read yours. You are my Keshig. Each of you swore to share my meat and my fire, to share my oasis and my thirst. To share my war and my death. The Chieftain took a moment to admire his greatest warriors. The Crimson Death Apek, death walking. Klog, terror of the midlands. Grommash had received many letters, any complaints, begging for leash to the Rex’s mad dog. Grommash had the armourers pin the letters to the armour of his warriors. They would carry their rage and lamentations of their foes into battle. If their deaths were to be written in the stars, then let them die laughing. Grommash turned his gaze to Kraugluk and Dragaar. The two warriors were famously silent. They questioned no orders. They offered no quarrel. Yet they had painted the cliffs of Hokhmat red in the days leading up to the siege. It had not been enough. Like rats the Haensemen had tunneled into the rock below, eschewing battle with the finest of the Horde. Preferring the indignity of labouring beneath the feet of their betters. Contenting themselves with the mantra that quantity was a quality of its own. The Rex smiled to himself. He had slept poorly. His dreams growing more vivid since he had been haunted by the beautiful voice of the Giftor. She stalked his dreams and his waking hours. Always present at the margins. Always tempting… offering… demanding that he yield, that he accept the bounty that she offered. The freedom. Not now. Not yet. “My brothers..” Grommash said, his voice even and low “All that could have been done has been done. The defences have been made. The blades forged and sharpened. The words that must be spoken have been spoken, and they have fallen on deaf ears. The stars speak of a great reaping. The great harvest of the season of war. The spirits dance and sing they know that tomorrow the cliffs shall be painted red with Manblood and the blood of the Urukhim. My brothers.. No.” The Rex would pause, his brow knit in consternation “That is not the right word. My sons.” he would murmur softly, the rare show of affection quickly fading into the cold air of the early dawn. “Each of you walks in the footsteps of the Orcfather, your actions each day bringing glory and honour to our people and to our father, greatest of the four. Today I tell you this. The least, is off. You will not stay by my side. You will not shield me from arrow and sword. I tell you this now not as a request but as an order. Not as your Warbrother, sharer of meat and fire. I tell you this as your Rex.” The Rex’s words would be sharp and final, he would brook no disagreement. He spoke now as Hordespeaker. “So long as my heart beats, so long as the horde obeys, mine is the will of Krug.” “Today the discipline is ended. My best sons. My wolves of war. Perhaps our deaths are written in the stars this day. Perhaps the Orcfather calls us home to Stargush’stroh. If today is the day that we are to die, then let us pile the corpses high, let us announce our coming with the screams of the Fleshtide. My sons, today I set you free. Today you will do what you were made to do.” “Hurt them” The Rex stood, each of his warriors following. The village had begun to awaken. The crying of Kubs, the crackling of cooking fires. Soon the village would be full of action and noise. The Keshig had heard the mind of the Rex. Now it was up to them. As each departed the Rex would grab them by the collar of their cuirass, pulling their foreheads against his own. A headbutt, yet lacking the usual ferocity of the ancient greeting of the Urukhim. Looking each in the eyes he let them go one after another, each departing to his duty. No further words need be exchanged. The war dance would be danced, the harvest would be reaped. Grommash smiled, the rage within rising. Now. He would think to himself. Marching off to the Horn of Yar, the Rex would call the clans and the tribes to war. The finally he would drink deeply of the nectar of the gift. The Great Horn of Yar would echo out across the mountains and sands of the Hordelands. The Horde had once more been called to war. As the clans and tribes filtered into the village, the Rex ascended the steps of the Rex rock. His hammer resting on his shoulder he would raise a hand, causing a silence to fall across the Horde. Soon there would be fighting. It was time for the Hordespeaker to speak. My Horde, many of you know my feelings on this war. I do not want this present, I do not want this future. I have marched into the fortresses of the enemy under flag of truce. I have proposed peace and it has been rejected time and time again. There is a sickness in this world. A madness. But who better than we, the Urukhim to know just how real the sickness the evil one inflicted on the world really is. In each of us, from the very moment we are born, lurks that terrible curse of the Urukhim. The rage in the heart. Some would call it a gift. They claim only in embracing the bounty in our hearts can we truly be free. Unchained by morals and fears. Living true to ourselves. I will not dance the tonguedance and pretend I have an answer. I speak truth. You have followed me into the jaws of death many times. We were there at the start of the war, when, you rode with me when we broke their army at Westmark. You stood with me on the road of Balian while our allies got lost in the mountains. Again and again you have followed me. We have made an oath to the Velemen. While the cowards of Celia’nor have committed Elfsin, as is customary for their kind, we are the Urukhim. Children of Krug, greatest of the four. I will go to the battle of the cliffs. I will stand in the storm of iron from the firebreathing tubes of the humans. I will stare down the Fleshtide as it emerges from its rat-tunnels and floods the black cliffs of Drusco. I will go, even if I must go alone. The Rex would pause, casting an eye over the gathered crowd. As I look now I can see that there are many families who are sorely lacking. Many of our great warriors and hunters have fallen to the pikes of the humans. Drowning under the tide of flesh and blood. I will not ask you to send the last of your sons, your hunters. I will not condemn the tribes to further hunger in the absence of their foodbringers. So I will go. Alone if I must. Death comes for all of us in the end. One can run from it. One can use foul magiks to stave off death’s harvest. But in the end, all of us die. For us Urukhim one day our death shall be written in the stars. If we are to die. Let us die well. Let the talespinners remember us as the ones who kept their oaths. There are many flaws in the Urukhim. Each of us has lost clankin to the rage. Kin who become more savage with each passing day, losing themselves to the gi.. To the curse. That is our burden. We, children of the greatest of the four suffer from the greatest of the curses. But let us not be found guilty of dwarfsin. Let us not be greedy for life. Let us not be found guilty of elfsin. Let us not break oath and shame our fathers with our cowardice. I will go. For it was I who bound the Horde. And it shall be I that sees the season of war to its end. You may stay, or you may go. The choice is yours. The Hordespeaker, having spoken his mind quietly descended the Rex Rock, his hammer resting on his shoulder, his great tower shield slung, he would depart north. As he passed through the gate his voice would ring out clear, he had begun to chant the warsong.
  17. Hysterical tone policing is probably one of the worst things about the server and its policing.

Always done cynically against people one doesn't like.

I am explicitly directing this statement at @bravery. Nothing brave about gossiping behind someone's back and then making passive aggressive subtweets.

but moderators aren't chosen by community, but application. Should just encourage reasonable orc players to apply I reckon they could get accepted. If indisputably good candidates start being denied, then there might be reason to suspect...

  20. Summons for Clan Akaal The Rex of the Urukhim has received a worrisome letter accusing the Akaal clan of torturing and maiming a member of the horde under the protection of the Rex. The Akaal clan will present themselves at tomorrow’s Klamor and explain themselves. If the Akaals are found to have knowingly harmed an Urukhim under the protection of the Rex, they will be appropriately punished. Let it be known that it is UNACCEPTABLE for any member of the Horde to attack another member of the Horde without reason. If members of the Horde have conflicts they are to resolve them through formal challenge and Klomp with a Goth as a witness OR they are to bring their conflicts to the Rex or the Dominus for judgement. Now more than ever the unity of the Horde is essential.
  21. The Rochefort Covenant The Rex of the Urukhim has agreed to share Meat and Oasis with the people of the Roche Tribe. So long as they share meat, give words at gatherings, and bring their warband to war at the call of the Rex, then the Tribe of Roche is free to travel, to hunt, to dwell in the sands and the dunes of the Hordelands. The Tribe of Roche shall, by word of the Rex Respect the laws of the Horde. This includes the assurance that the void will not be connected to, nor practices Attend gatherings and offers words Share meat, drink, and fire with the Rex and the Urukhim Ride with the Horde to war, a minimum of five warriors of Roche must be present. If the five warriors are not present then taxes will be doubled. In the case of no warriors taxes will be tripled. Pay a tax of one hundred mina per year to the Horde Not promote or tolerate voidal or any other kind of evil magic. The Tribe of Roche may, by word of the Rex Hunt, Fish, and Trap in the desert of the Horde Travel freely within the desert of the horde Wage war according to the will of its Chieftain except against targets forbidden by the Rex The Horde shall, by word of the Rex Protect the tribe of Roche Allow the tribe of Roche to hunt, fish and trap within the desert Allow the tribe of Roche to move freely within the desert Grant the tribe of Roche a parcel of the desert to dwell in Should the Tribe of Roche default on their obligations, they will first be summoned to a Klamor to give an account of their actions. If obligations are broken again then the Tribe of Roche will be removed from their lands and their privileges in the desert shall be withdrawn. Failure to be present at a Klamor will be taken as the second breach of obligation. Baron Reynard de la Roche of the Rochefort

  23. I'm fairly sure if you try to evict vassals they have a window where they can refuse eviction and declare rebellion.
  24. The solution to the infinity realms question does not have to be killing all of them. Surprisingly on a roleplay server you can solve a lot of problems by just.. talking to people.. in roleplay
