  1. Ah yes, another victory for the strelts and Godanistan.
  2. Why is the lag so bad? I destroy 5 blocks, to have them all reappear!

  3. *reading over the petition, Torel signs, nodding at the points given for the demolition*
  4. RIP IN PEACE CLARIO

  5. Love it! Even if this is /basically/ the same thing as the shops in Aegis, I wouldn't know, having not been a part of LOTC that long. Still, this is a great idea, and I applaud your wanting to add this. :D
  6. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: SuperiorGrape How old are you?: I am 15 years old. Time-Zone/Country of Residence: California, (UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes I do. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I love to read. In fact, I pretty much devour books. I also like to play Minecraft, obviously! Listening to music, surfing the web, and learning about interesting things are other things I do regularly. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Well, since its summer, I will probably be on about 30 hours a week. Rough estimation. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Role-playing to me means to be playing as a character of your choice, and doing things that that character would do. For instance, if I were playing as a farmer, I would make a farm, plant seeds, harvest the crops, sell them, and socialize with other farmers and travelers, sell my crops to improve my living conditions, or just hang out after a day's work. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I've had a bit of roleplay experience, but to tell you the truth, it wasn't very good. From what i've seen of this server, the roleplay is more in-depth. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta gaming is when you use knowledge that you aquired from outside sources that your character wouldn't have to avoid a dangerous situation, or advance quicker in levels using a technique that your character wouldn't have known about. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Power-emoting is when you perform an attack without allowing your opponent time to react, or the ability to defend themselves. Power-emoting is also the act of killing someone in one hit when you nomally would have to hit them many times. In your own Words, define what Out of Character (OOC) is: OOC is when you act like yourself, and not the character you are playing. Example: IC: Lothar the mighty picks up Le'or, throwing him to the ground with a loud *thud* Le'or gasps, trying to catch his breath Lothar laughs Lothar: Gasp away, little fishie! OOC: ((Le'or: lolwut?)) ((Lothar: XD it just came to me)) In your own Words, define what In Character (IC) is: IC is the act of portraying your character's emotions and actions, and not your own. For instance, if IRL you are feeling angry because you had an argument with a friend, you can't take it out on other players in character, because your character didn't also have an argument with your friend. IC you have to say what your character would say in that situation, even if in OOC chat people are saying funny things. Your character can't read the OOC chat, so he shouldn't react to what is being said. What do you expect this server will be like?: Based on what I have seen do far in the server as a wandering soul, players are very good at roleplaying. I can't wait to interact with players. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I played on A'therys Ascended for a little while, but left because the players hardly talked to each other, and it was very lonely. The moderators and admins were also very stern about you using certain chats, and would bug you to stop talking a lot. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I have. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I promise. :D How did you hear about us?: I heard about this server by searching for "Roleplaying minecraft servers" in Google. That took me to your PMC page. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: http://http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/64784-superiorgrape-application/page__p__505890__fromsearch__1#entry505890 In-Character: Character Name: Torel Aaraben What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : I am an Elf. What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Wood Elf. Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): I was born in the Nawari camp, in a white and green tent, now occupied by Lail and Sig. I am 17 years old, having been born in the year 34. As a wood elf, I'm shorter than other elves, with dark skin and dirty blonde hair. I also have blue eyes. Growing up, I was a rebellious child, always running away from the camp, and hanging around people I know I shouldn't have. I regret that now, as my rebellion angered my parents. They cast me out just over a year ago, after a particularly bad argument. I can't even remember what we were arguing about...*looks dismally at the floor* Since then, I've been on my own, just .... wandering. As of late, I've been trying to meet people to do things with. I don't really have a want to settle down just yet, but I know that eventually I'll have to. Can't wander forever, ya know? *laughs* I suppose sometime soon I'll find a something to make me settle down, whether it be a husband...*blushes* or or, something else! What are your Character's ambitions?: Erm.. I haven't given that quite a lot of thought! *laughs* I guess I would like to find the perfect place. *dreamy look* A perfect place... where everything is serene, and untouched by civilization. That is my ambition! What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): My favorite tool is flint and steel, so that I can make a toasty fire at night. :D What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? My father taught me at a young age how to handle a bow, and I became quite proficient. So archery would have to be one of my better talents. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ): Other Information about your Character: Torel is generally shy, but when something angers her, she can become defensive and aggressive. But only when angered! :3 Open-Response-Questions Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP. Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Seeing the warriors struggle with the halfling, I am reminded of how the bigger elf children would harass me when I was younger. Anger surges through me. "Stop IT!" I yell. The warriors look up, surprised anyone would take notice of their actions. "You leave him alone!" The warriors pause, then start giggling like small children. "You? You're gonna stop us?!" *giggle snort* "Oi! I'd loik to see you try!" The anger surges back, twice as strong. I march up to the warrior in charge, look into his eyes, and knee him as hard as I can in the balls. The warrior jolts, eyes bulging. He sways, unable to fall, then crashes to his knees. "Run," I whisper to the halfling, before doing so myself. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? I look at the wares, when something catches my eye. "Ah, the gold necklace, eh? Many people want to buy that," the merchant says, seeing what caught my eye. "Unfortunately, because of its price, most people decline. 500 minas." 500 minas?! I haven't held that much money ever! Although, it IS gold, a rare metal. I sigh, wishing I could have that much money. Instead, I pick out a few pieces of leather, and some string, for my boots need repairs. "That is all?" the man asks, tallying up the total. "Yup. That's it." I sniff. "What's that smell?" The shopkeeper looks up, sniffing as well. "Dunno. Anyways, here is your to..." He is interrupted by a yell of "FIRE!", and the sound of people running. "Wha?" the merchant says, confused. The blaze has started in a nearby food vendor's stall. Apparently her fire for roasting meat set a crate ablaze, which quickly spread to other stalls. The merchant drops my leather and starts frantically grabbing his wares and getting them away from any flammable items. I help him, carrying boxes of jewelry behind the stall to a back stone road, away from the stalls. "Thank you," he says in between throwing cloth behind his stall. "Take your items, charge free." "Are your sure?" "Yes, yes." "Thanks!" I say, grabbing my leather and string, and placing them into my pack. "Need anything else?" I ask the merchant. "No, I'm fine now. Thank you again for your help. Have a good day, traveler." "Farewell" Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: I look around for any inhabitants. I find none. Placing my pack on the table, I shut the door and make a small fire in the fire ring. I hesitate upon discovering the chest and its contents, for I remember the feeling of being robbed myself. I decide against taking anything, and make myself a small supper of stew and warmed bread. Ah, stew, about the only thing I have to eat nowadays. Wishing for savory meals of roasted chicken and cake, I drift off to sleep. ~~~~~~ The next morning, I extinguish the coals from the fire, and sweep the dirt floor with a broom I find. I leave a small note on the table, thanking the inhabitants, if any, for using their house as shelter for the night. Then I grab my pack, sling it over my shoulder, and head on down the dirt road I have been following. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "'ello there, traveler! My, you look hungry! Let's fix you up somethin' ta eat, shall we?" an old man says as I stumble into a small camp. "Thank you, sir." I mumble weakly. The old man is kind, leading me to a tent, feeding me broth while I recover. I stay there for a few days while I gather my strength. He tells me stories of when he was young, fighting monsters in the woods, a few of which I have encountered myself. Nasty beasts, their rotting flesh can be smelled from a quarter of a mile away with a good breeze. On the 4th day, I have rested enough to be on my way. The kindly old man, who i know know as Eynor, packs me some bread, stew, and meat. He also gives me some arrows he has been working on while I was resting. "Thank you, Eynor. May we meet again soon." I say as I head out into the forest. "Farewell, young Torel. I pray your adventures be glorious and mighty. Keep yourself out of trouble, ya' hear!" I chuckle as I wave and disappear into the woods. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: "All right! We need volunteers to take out a group of bandits that have camped out next to the southern entrance. There is a 300 mina reward for those who assist in annihilating these ruffians." A gruff looking man announces from a platform in the center of the town I have been staying at. He is surrounded by about a dozen armored guards, all of which appear uncomfortable in the mid-spring heat. I have heard of someone causing a problem for merchants entering the town, but hadn't payed much attention until now. I look up from my bowl of stew I had been slurping, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand. "Bandits? I suppose I could be of assistance. My aim isn't bad. Sure, why not." I quickly think, fingering the bow leaning against my stool. Placing my bowl on the ground and grabbing my bow, I stand and approach the speaker. "I will help you." I say to the man, taking a laid-back stance. "You? You're just a pipsqueak!" He laughs. Some of his guard chuckle, like the goons they are. I narrow my eyes. I am starting to dislike this man. "Fine," I murmur, "If you want to be one less person in your group, that's fine with me." The man sighs, rolling his eyes. "I was just jokin' with you, lass. You are welcome to join the group." I grin. "Alright then." "Anyone else want to fight for the town? Anyone? No? Ok." The man turns to go into the barracks behind him, when a boy younger than me runs through the center of the crowd. "Wait!" He cries, out of breath from running. He coughs, then continues. "I want to fight the bandits! I have training!" The man turns. Looking at the boy, he scoffs. "Sorry lad, we don't hire babes. Go play somewhere else. This isn't a game." "But I want to fight!" There is a look of determination on the boy's face. I see myself in him. "Go back to your home. Miss?" he looks at me, asking for my name. "Torel" "Miss Torel. Follow me. We must discuss matters indoors." He disappears into the barracks. I look at the boy. He seems angry, but sad at the same time. "Boy." "What do you want?" He glares at me, obviously jealous. "He wasn't joking. These are thieves. They could hurt you." "Don't tell me what to do! I'm not a baby!" he exclaims before turning and running back to where he came. I sigh. Children. I enter the barracks. ~~~~~~ The briefing was short. Kilben, the man, had informed me of the current situation. Armed thieves, blah blah blah, be careful, that sorta thing. Now here I was, creeping along the side of the southern road, acting as a scout for those noisier guards. I got sick of them tromping through the woods like a bunch of cows. Stay put, and don't make noise is what I told them. I grimaced. I was sure they were stepping on all the sticks on purpose. Breaking my thought-rant, a crackle sounded next to me. I dropped to my stomach and focused on breathing as slowly as possible. Then, illuminated my the moonlight, I saw the source of the crackle. I groaned. The boy! Was he slow?! He was told not to come along on this trip. I sighed, then stood. Seeing me, he jumped, then recognized me. "I thought Kilben told you not to mess around!" I whispered harshly. "Go back home before you get yourself hurt." "I want to fight! It's my right to help protect my town!" he yelled. "Keep your voice down! We are very close to the bandit camp!" "You aren't my mother!" he yelled, then turned and ran.....straight into a bandit. "Oh ****." I whispered. How could I have not heard him? Stupid, stupid, stupid. The bandit grinned, looking down at the boy, then to me. "And what 'ave we 'ear?," he cackled, "the pipsqueak patrol? You know what 'appens to little boys and girls who are naugh'y?" He pulled out a long dagger, the moonlight gleaming off its double edge. "They..get...hurt" he whispered menacingly, and grabbed they boy. "Don't you touch him!" The villain grinned. "Too late!" he laughed, and smoothly slit the boy's throat. I gasped, unable to look away. The poor boy. The bandit wiped his dagger on his pants and dropped the boy. His already lifeless body made a sickening thud. "Now, little lady, its your turn" he said, and advanced on me. Thinking quickly, I grabbed a small pouch from my side. Opening it, I threw the contents at my attacker's face. He stumbled and blinked his eyes, then screamed and fell, clutching at his face. Pivoting, I ran towards where I left the guards. Reaching them, they were already on their feet, having heard the bandit's screams. I knew those herbs the old woman had given me for the stew would come in handy later. "What happened?" one of the guard asked me, concerned. "I met a bandit. He killed an innocent boy. Attack the camp now, It's the perfect chance! GO!" The guard ran towards the encampment. One of the guards turned back, facing me. "Aren't you coming?" he asked. "No. You have it covered. I've had enough for one day" "Fair enough. Faster, men!" he yelled toward the rest of the guard, and tramped off. ~~~~~~ The next morning, as promised, the reward was presented to me. I declined. "Why?" said the messenger, confused, "why would you turn down 300 minas?" "Tell Kilben to give it to the parents of the boy. They need it more at the moment." "Ok." ~~~~~~ I left the next day, to continue my travels. Anything else you would like to say?: I really put a lot of effort into this application. Hope I make it this time! :3
  7. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: SuperiorGrape How old are you?: 15 years old. Time-Zone/Country of Residence: I live in California, (UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes I do. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I love to play minecraft. It's one of my favorite hobbies, besides reading and practicing c++. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: It's the summer, so about 28 - 30 hours a week. :3 What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying to me means to pretend to be a person or thing you admire, or wish you could be in real life. Unfortunately, you can't be that person, so roleplaying is the next best thing. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I've played on a lot of roleplaying servers, but most of them were mediocre. The players switched roles too often, and made themselves "king" of everyone. A couple were fun servers, but people didn't roleplay that often. I believe myself good at roleplaying, but I couldn't say the same for other people. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: I haven't actually heard of Meta-gaming before. Let me look it up....... Oh. Meta-gaming is using information you got while out of character to do things to help yourself in character, like hearing about a bad person who was terrorizing a certain area, and avoiding that area to survive. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-gaming is the act of roleplaying, but not allowing someone to react to what you are doing, like killing someone in one move. What do you expect this server will be like?: Well, as a wandering soul, I have seen the places, and overheard the people's conversations. People are really into roleplaying here ( a plus! ), and have constructive interactions with one another. The land is also very detailed, meaning more interactions with the landscape and towns. I expect this server to be very cool! :D What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I've played on A'therys Ascended, and I left that server because despite there being a lot of players online, there was hardly any interaction. Boring! Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I have read the rules, and agree to them entirely. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes. How did you hear about us?: I read about the server through the PMC page. Looked cool. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: This is my first application. Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there. (http://www.minecraft...-p-s-e-r-v-e-r/): ok. In-Character: Character Name: Torel Caranor What Race are you?: I'm an Elf. What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Wood Elf. ( I'm short! :3 ) Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): I was born on the outskirts of the Nawari camp, to Faervel Caranor and Irben Caranor, my mother and father. I am a shorter elf, with pale skin and fiery red hair. My mother and father both had this red hair, thus our surname, Caranor, meaning red fire. I am 15 years of age, fully grown, for my family's standards. From a very young age I have had an urge to explore the rest of the world, and get out of my small "cage" called home. Once, when I was just a youngling, I toddled away from the camp to the edge of the Sunmoth plains before someone noticed I was gone and went after me. As soon as I was old enough to venture out on my own, I packed a bag, said goodbye to my parents, and set out for the land beyond the horizon. OOC: Torel is a shy, ambitious elf. She has bright red hair, which she wears down, and green eyes. Her skin is very pale. Her favorite thing to wear is a green dress with black sandals. She loves to read, but being on the road, she might not get an opportunity to curl up fith a good read often. What is your Character's ambitions?: My ambition is to find a place where I am truly happy, feel unbridled by civilization, and am surrounded by nature. Oh, and find the perfect book! *laughs* What is your character’s favorite tool? Probably a bow. I've been taught to shoot well. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Well, my favorite thing to do is practice archery, so I guess my best skill would be that. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character: Have I said that I LOVE books? Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Seeing the warriors struggle with the halfling, I am reminded of how the bigger elf children would harass me when I was younger. Anger surges through me. "Stop IT!" I yell. "run.", I whisper to the halfling, before doing so myself. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? "No, I'm afraid I don't have enough coin. Sorry!". Then I continue on my way. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: I sneak into the hut, keeping watch for any residents. I take the iron, leaving a thank you note, and a promise to pay the inhabitant back. I then head to the nearest town, sell the iron, and buy some well-needed food. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? I cautiously approach, watching for any thugs. All too often I have been met in small camps like this one by rogues. Seeing the coast is clear, I look around for food. I spot a woman making stew on a fire. Offering her a few coin and some herbs, I take a bowl of stew and snarf it down. After I am finished, I thank the woman and continue through the forest. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: "A reward? Hmmm. Nah, leave that to the warriors and guards. I've been walking for days, and need to gather my strength."
