Lord Nicholas Blackwell drools. Then he checks his pocketbook. He sniffles, seeing a few knats fly out of it.

[Ooc] Political Borders Of The Era Of Five Kings
AndrewTech replied to 3andD's topic in Athera Roleplay Archive
Great job! Except that the Republic of Gallmore is listed as the wrong island. :P Its the next one to the right on the map, right in the middle the wilds and Anthos. If you look at Aeto's map, you should get what I'm talking about. The one you have marked unfortunently is a minor outpost created by some faction or another. ;.; Other than that, just as I remember it. Stressful, yet fun times. -
((This. You also forgot like... 8/10ths of the other nobility, as per the Acts of Restoration, Section III. https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/116627-acts-of-restoration/ ))
-
((UPDATE #2: -House Vanir added, The Order of the Detectrum removed. -Anne Blackwell removed for being desceased. Will confirm with Fail_Plane as well. ))
-
((UPDATE #1: -Edited Empire relations to fit modern times. Carrion and de Bar now set to loyal, Winter to Friendly, and Chivay to neutral. -Removed de Bretagne and other inactive houses/groups from house relations. -Verified the existence of Anne Blackwell. Was always in the thread.))

((Will add later tonight. Thanks for telling me Mooglie.)) ((Will remove when I get back tonight. Thanks for pointing that out Gold.))

~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~ HISTORY House Blackwell, it is a name which could easily inspire some form of distaste in those of noble blood. Though not for lack of want, it is to be said that the house seems to have been formed of commoners and men of a lineage not suitable for nobility. Although this may be true, they are there, and that bit is known. House Blackwell was formed on a drunken meeting with Henrik, the King, and the first patriarch of the Blackwell family, George. Knowing of George’s service in military, and his blood relation to the old House Greymane which would allow some form or consideration of nobility to be possible. In the kings drunken stupor, he granted the Blackwells land and the title of Baron as well as some form of prestige, and it seems as though many years later this style of negotiation has turned out well for their family as a whole. Blackwell had quite a bit of trouble at first gettings the wheels turning, they helped a bit with military service to The Order of Saint Lucien, and had a small levy force just barely big enough to be considered worthy of nobility. Soon this became a slightly larger number and they started to finally make a name. House blackwell finally got recognised as a full Noble House When the Duke of Northal resigned, through advice from his son. George Blackwell became a vassal of Herendul, and gained countship of the Norfolk-Ager region. Even with this, he was gifted more: He became the grand commander of the brotherhood of Northmen, an organization which was considered especially prominent during those eras and vowed itself to destroying the forces of evil in the north. After a few failed and successful defences the order had made a small but known name. They fought in the siege of the north and had a large part in destroying the strong beast which appeared after everyone though the battle was over. This siege however drained the order of most of their men and was forced to be abandoned, but soon replaced with the Reformed Winterguard. In a horrible sadness, rather, blunder, he got leprosy. He died about a year later, on the second sun of 1463. His son, Oliver, inherited the ownership of the house and the family that came with it. He had married his bride, Elifi Stafyr, exactly a decade before. Oliver assimilated the Northmen into his own order, the Winterguard. It became the main banner-force of Herendul, and Oliver became the commandant. After George’s death, Joseph, his brother, went ‘missing’. Soon after, the son of Joseph, Jon Blackwell, was on the field preparing for an armed conflict when ruffians went up to him and beat the living hell out of him, murdering him in about fifteen minutes and stealing all of his belongings. Around the same time of all of these travesties, the worst of them all occurred to the youngest link... Elfi Blackwell-Stafyr, the bride of Oliver, went missing soon in relation to these events and was later discovered to have commited suicide. A few years afterwards, Lord Oliver Blackwell died during the Great Plague Outbreak of the 1460’s after reforming the Winterguard and becoming Marshal of Herendul. His son, Thomas Blackwell took over, but as the house, losing two well connected members, began to go on a decline, fear struck the hearts of a few members and even thought they would lose Noble status. However James Blackwell who still had the ties to keep the house going, found an amazing gift which he calls a blessing from the creator. James had found a will from the late George Blackwell which wished for James to take control of House Blackwell upon the death of his son, oliver. James had much worry that this would leave the family separated and in conflict between people who supported James and people who supported Thomas so he kept it quiet for a while and then quietly went with the help of his closest ally Corbett Vancleef to Borris Carrion the third who granted them both a hearing, but James did not tell Thomas what it was for, and they just went to the hearing. Borris decided that he wished for Thomas to know before it started so they went into an area to speak where it was agreed Thomas would abdicate and James would be granted the title “Lord of House Blackwell”. Vassalizing under the Duke Richard de Bar, Blackwell once again regained a county. They also gained ground in the Order of St. Amyas, becoming a trusted part in it. But, eventually, the stresses of military life caught up to James, and his lazy family members were of no help to him whatsoever. Unable to stomach the stress any longer, he resigned, leaving the eldest son of Thomas Blackwell, Nicholas, to inherit the Lordship; in turn, Nicholas would keep James as a close advisor on his council, in addition to his father. Nicholas also managed to gain the new Small Council title of Lord Deputy during this time, assisting the Lord Bailiff as a prominent helper in the Office of the Bailiffs. He had become the first Lord of Blackwell to wield an administrative position in the Imperial Government. It wasn't long after this that Nicholas faced some of the darkest times in Blackwell history. With the crowning of the new Emperor, Tuvya Carrion the I, the nobility was reordered. As the shattered Imperium Tertius was slowly being repaired by the new Emperor, however, the liege of the Blackwells vanished without a trace. But Nicholas was not like his father; he was neither lazy nor infrugal. He knew just what to do to save the House. With their liege presumed dead and Juvanos falling into disrepair and abandonment, Nicholas knew that Blackwell would not last long. No longer bound through feudal oaths to Juvanos, Nicholas appealed to the Emperor. Seeing his request fair and just, Emperor Tuvya accepted House Blackwell as minor vassals under him, granting them a manor for their landing in Petrus. Now Nicholas continues to repair the House, slowly bringing Blackwell to prominence yet again. ~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~`-`~ Heirlooms The Shield of Blackwell Held by the Lord of Blackwell, it represents the protector of the House. It is their duty as lord to make sure they stay both moral, and physically safe. When Edward Blackwell left the Greymane family to become an independent and more moral house he made this to symbolize such. The shield bears the Sigil of House Blackwell. Currently in possession of: Lord Nicholas Blackwell The Long Sword Of Blackwell This is held by the first Knight in the generation of the family. It is to be given to each generation. If the one Knight passes and no one has been knighted yet from the next generation the Lord of the House has the duty to store it until another squire in the House has been Knighted. The sword is supposed to represent the most experienced fighter of the House and reward him for such experience. Currently in possession of: Ser Christopher Blackwell Edward Blackwell’s Pocket Watch A golden pocket watch owned by Edward Blackwell. The eagle of Blackwell is inscribed on the back. Below that is a small inscribing of the words VonSchlichtenCo. So far is has been passed on from each lord to his son. Captain Pandora slowly nods to herself as she sends a letter of acceptance to Beranabus. It reads: "Accepted. Still working on obtaining a land outpost and docking area. After that, we'll begin a total retrofit of the Endeavour. If you are Truely a proficient shipbuilder, perhaps you can help First Officer Varstivus in the task. Especially with the interior and bridge controls. Also, we'll be having a shakedown of Gallmorian technology and ship operations after the outpost and ship are constructed. It's a tedious task, getting the land to do so, but we shall succeed. --Capt. Pandora Langua-VonS."

~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Background ~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The Endeavour in Anthos (Some Refits May Apply) [[PLEASE READ ALL THE SPOILERS]] *~*~*~*~*~*~* Note from Captain Pandora: The Endeavour is devoted to performing it’s original mission: exploring and adventuring through strange new islands and locations, and keeping the peace of the seas against the Pirate Scum. We’re currently in need of crew members of many different skill sets, however, to operate the ship and assist in our travels… Though it isn’t fully repaired yet ((Aka: MCly rebuilt)), we are well on our way to becoming seaworthy again. At this point, though, I deem that it would be prudent to begin to recruit new members. You DO NOT need to be a full-time crewmember of this fine ship; I understand that the periods between battling pirates, reviewing expidition findings, and performing other Endeavour tasks can be quite dull; rather, you may also be a part-time member. While sailing or on Endeavour business , you are required to wear your uniform. However, while off-duty, you are not held to such restrictions. In the future, we may also get a land outpost to base our more bulky scientific and engineering experiments, as well as provide a place to stretch our legs. Though men and women of all races will be treated equally aboard the Endeavour, we will have a heiarchy that goes as follows: HIERARCHY We also have a list of three simple rules that we follow: --Evil activities will lead to expulsion. --Superiors will be respected and obeyed, so long as their orders are reasonable. --The laws of whatever nation we're docked in are to be respected whilst in that same nation. The application to join the crew of the G.R.S Endeavour lies below. Please send it off to me if you wish to join; if accepted, I shall send you a letter and a uniform. APPLICATION UNIFORMS Pax Gallmoria, and good evening.

Hello my good people of the community of LotC. I need some ideas to spice up one of my character's RP on my alt account, which is at an all time low... I'm searching for quality, fun, non-trolly RP with an active playerbase. Guilds, RP groups, organizations, situations... Even slavery's acceptable as long as it's fun. This character's name is Pandora; she's a knowledgeable, golden haired elf of 320 years old, experienced in domestic management, invention, and survival; if need be, she can also defend herself with the sword and crossbow. She's a wood elf, despite her paler-than-usual skin for the subrace. Though she isn't my most developed character, she still has a rich personal history. So, if any of you have some good ideas or suggestions for what to do, please post them on this thread. If I'm interested, I'll PM you my Skype username on the forums and inquire more about your idea/suggestion. That's it folks, and thank you.

The High Cleric Mandru VonSchlichten clutches his heart as his soul groans in pain. As he hears the words inside his head, he notices that his task has failed... The task Tahariae had told himself and two others to uphold at all costs. And now, because this New Order of Golden Lances and Clerics were so weak, so devoid of the power needed to combat the darkness that was to come, a new war had started. One which the old man feared he would not live to see the end of... I am too old for this sort of thing... The wizened old cleric thinks inside his mind as he puts all the pieces together, and as he considers the future yet to come.
-
"Indeed. Thank you, Herun. I have scouted the route to the mountains; all going on this expidition are to gather at the Cloud Sanctuary at the appropriate time, as I trust you all know where that is. If you are too Incompitent to get to the Cloud Sanctuary, then you have no buisness trampling through the forests," he chuckles, musing at his joke. "May the light be with you all, and bring along any expidition gear you may need... This is not a mission to be taken lightly."
-
"Isaac, I highly doubt this. But I suppose that I could always ask Lord Ivanus to contact Tahariae and make sure these aren't false orders..."
-
"Scions... Naeri you guys are still ALIVE? Good greif... Your numbers must be terribly diminished by time. Nevertheless, yes your scions may act as your operations group if need be."
-
"I'm sorry Kaun; I've second thoughts about this as well, but we serve the Aengul Tahariae. And what Gazadriel, father of Tahariae or not, thinks doesn't carry much weight... We must follow our patron's orders to the letter."
-
"Indeed Khaun; and though I may be mistaken... Gazadriel is also Tahariae's father, is he not?"
-
"Ja ja; student and teacher, warrior and healer, works fine." Mandru says absentmindedly. "Just let me connect you first." He turns to Khan. "Yes... I know who Gazadriel is. But please explain who he is to the others here, for they might not have the knowledge that we possess."
-
"No Aegor, you are not. But I shall now list you." ((Not sure about that date. Probably, but I'll have to check my calendar.))
-
"Eh... And if you have a preference for a partner for your operations group, talk to them about it and then tell me. I don't see why we can't organize into such right now... Make sure you can work with them well and easily, prefferably around the same area and time, and also make sure that they're a healer/paladin opposite of your field of expertise. Apprentices who are still learning the art will stay with their teachers until they are deemed worthy by their teachers and approved by myself."
-
"Alright clerics!" Mandru clasps his hands together. "Firstly, if you officially are in the order, say I so that I might enter you into my roster for the Order. Otherwise, I will not agnoledge you as a cleric. Secondly, I will divide the order into operation groups of two, one healer and one paladin, after the crisises we now face. For now however, we must stay together. Together we are strong, apart we are weak. We go after Hosper after we find out where he's being held, those whom I choose for the mission. Particularly those with combat training and war clerics. But our number one priority until then is to find these keys and open the portal."
-
Mandru looks to Dwyn. "Draw a map for me to it, now. Please. It will be important to my efforts."
-
"I have heard rumors around the realm that a being named 'Gaz' does not want us to go through this portal." Mandru frowns. "I believe that this being may be the Aengul Gazadriel."
-
"Prophet?" He turns to Aegor. "I'm the High Cleric, a far line from the Prophet... HOSPER is the Prophet. However, I am the High Cleric, ordained by the Itharel to service the Order and watch over it and it's Clerics. In any case, I will consider adding you to my team... but we MUST search out the keys as well. Hosper would want us to do that."
