    I'm not getting any EXP from mining on the mining world. I have everything set correctly and I'm even a dwarf. Tips?

      You cannot mine below y-72 or something along those lines until you get to a certain level.

    I'm having a problem with John Smiths' pack. I have forge, liteloader, magic launcher, and optifine, but loading the pack causes all the text to be turned into bars.

      Perhaps deleting the custom font from the pack folder (or disabling it with optifine) will help?
