  1. Lissamanda Nasser slowly passes through the posters with copies of the decree. She pours a bit of wax, presses the stamp of the town of Kralta onto each, and waits for it to harden. She hopes many'll come to the aid of Raev, before what has come to be her homeland gets stampeeded by the Northern Menace...
  2. Lissa Ransom shakes her head when she receives the news of this edict... She doesn't have time for this nonsense, with Kralta gaining more'n more victims of the Antagonist's Cruelty each day.
  3. Lissa Ransom slowly reads through a letter, written by herself'n Diedrik Barrow, amongst the chaos that is Kralta... ~*~ To His Majesty, Of Whom Current Titles Us Do Escape In This Time Of Grave Need, Change and Despair... We, the Family of Carrion, keepers of the Krelmstad and Marques of Raev, as well as the townsfolk of Kralta, require urgent aid. The Walls of Greywynn have been breached, few remain of those that once guarded the North. Attacks from Ghouls, Drowners and Boarmen have ravaged our March's lands, and wrecked parts of Kralta. Wyrms have flewn through our skies, and we do not have the resources or man-power to fight such creatures. It is by this, that we urgently request His Majesty to send us these, lest lands beyond Raev will face the same horrors. Regardless of aid, we will stand and fight, as it is not the custom of Raevir to run. We carry on. Proof of these is included with this package. May the Creator watch over Your Highness, and Us. Signed, Diedrik Barrow, Master of The Krelmstad Lissa Ransom, Maer of Kralta ~*~ She nods, closing the letter, carefully handing it to Diedrik Barrow. He seals it with wax, and places it into a leather sack, with a head taken from one of the boarmen... ... As the sun slowly sets in Abresi, a horse comes to a grinding halt in front of the palace. With haste, the courrier dismounts, in his hands an odd package. He requests urgent access to the Palace, and His Majesty, bringing dire tidings from Kralta.
  4. ((How about a slightly more balanced offer, Sir?)) Lissa Ransom coughs, as she walks along the cold fields, unaware of whatever the great lords are deciding.
  5. Well, it's just quickly thrown together... To add a temple/shrine of sorts, you simply expand it further, using similar build-techniques. Then you build the style of ruin/shrine desired, and probably some added vegetation/rocks/float-y rocks. :3
  6. Mmm.. Rocky bits, roots through, small flora along the underside. Dependant on the island, makeshift wooden bridges could span around its sides... Caves and arches, where foreign birds'd nest.. Heavily different terrain on the top, meguesses, dependant on the prominence of the shrines. Feeling like building a concept in default. Might be back in a tad. <-<
  7. Mmmm.. As far as I've heard, all the ones whom quit are OOC buddies, and in chats together. They either all planned to leave us hanging, or did it spur of the moment. Rumours that they wanna build their own server, without VA's and whatnot, and more of the like. I believe they're hoping that all of Oren, and all their 'subordinates' will follow like sheep. I hope they won't, otherwise I'll be rather lonely in Kralta.
  8. See.. Normally I'd be all for chaos, but the novelty's worn off.

  9. I don't even..?

  10. Overal, I believe the resources have been fairly split. Like the poster above me, though, I note the absence of glowstone(crystal) mines/caves.. I also feel that Halflings should probably have access to clay, as clay is generally harvested from riverbanks. Though, if they don't, I will do all in my power to get a clay-trade going IC'ly, toward Halfling lands. :3 Edit: Actually, I somewhat feel like the Dwarves don't have enough different ores... Though, that's something which we'll need to see in practice first.
  11. ((Will be adding some permanent damage to Kralta, to keep the attack very much in our minds. Will scorch roofs, and maybe add a more recent ruin somewhere.)) A few flickering sparks amongst the thatch are doused, as Lissa tosses the last bit of water in the bucket over her hovel's roof. She looks about, most of the flames and destruction somewhat controlled, at last. She notices Maer Hunwald and Castellan Orlik walk about the scorched roads, inspecting the collapsed homes and counting the bodies of the slain... She sighs, opening her battered door, while drops fall down from the roof, onto the muddy floor.
  12. Well, we have a quartz altar in the Kraltan church. We rp it as marble, and it was quite darn expensive to get. Simply because it's only available from gm shops, at the moment. A single crystal is priced at 50 minas. You need 4 crystals for a single block. Minimum amount of blocks to create slabs is 3, minimum amount for stairs is 6. So, you're looking at at least getting 9 blocks x4x50 = 1800 minas. I don't know many people that want to pay this amount of minas for simple decorative blocks, at the moment. Except, of course, myself... Though, the opening of a quartz mine would likely open up opportunities to use it for structures, at a cheaper rate. Similarly with emeralds. As they're very expensive right now. 1800 minas for a single block, minimum. While these prices make these materials 'exclusive', there's not much trade or rp going on with the obtaining of said resources. It would be nice to see miners actually find the rock, sell it to merchants (cheap) , whom sell it to merchants (Medium Price) , whom spread the materials over Anthos (Expensive Price). For cheaper prices, the customer'd need to head to the ones mining it themselves. Which is obviously more risky than waiting for a merchant dropping it by your door.
  13. Wooo, Kralta. Drowners, Antagonist, Dragon and Drowners again!

  14. My case remains that quartz deposits make sense in the desert. In an area which has dead coral-deposits, heat, pressure and no taint from darker sediments. Regardless of whether or not it is a 'nation's mine'. I'd like to entertain the thought of it not just being in 'No Man's Land' and thus not generating much rp to speak off, due to limited size or respawn times to prevent 'grubbing it all'. This is not in the spirit of 'setting up an economy', which these Nation Mines are being developped for.. If you want the pretty rocks, barter with the dangerous orcs, or the greedy dwarves. Don't go mining themself in a 'neutral mine', something I have severe doubts about a great deal of Elves 'realistically' (within our scope of Medieval Fantasy) engaging in, or enjoying. On the other hand, I see many opportunities for intellectual Elves to figure out deals, with which they may create an advantage.. It could be as simple as offering a bountiful harvest of food to the poor orcs, starving in their desert, now that their fish's all dried up. Interaction is rewarded. Knowing people is a large part of what 'economy' is about.. Having good relations means access to resources. Bad relations, the possible cancelation of any trade-deals. However, it also creates a 'reward' for a conquering force.
  15. You're talking exclusively about High Elf land, but the 'Nation' is considered Malinor. An area which is mostly covered with trees. I didn't mean to attack you personally, merely remark that I'd find it odd that a white rock'd form in an area with so much sediment. Also, that Elves aren't particulary known for their 'mining' interest in general. On another note, 'trash' has been used often in trades. Something someone else desires, but you don't really care about makes for a nice piece of leverage. Historical example: Western Slave-traders buying slaves on the African coasts, from tribes, for broken muskets, mirrors, and other minor junk. The tribes got rid of their captured enemies, the Slave traders didn't need to toss their junk in the ocean. These mines aren't about giving each nation what they 'want' or 'could use'... It's about an allotment which makes sense, and will create opportunity for an economy. Handing the High Elves a Quartz mine because they want to make use of quartz blocks creates much less rp situations, than handing the Orc Nation a Quartz mine, and having High Elves attempt to trade things with the orcs because they desire said stone for its apparent 'purity'.
  16. Excuse me.. But I fail to see the sense in Elves having a quartz quarry. Or rather, I fail to see the sense behind a quartz quarry being present in a heavily forested environment. I think it'd be more interesting to put quartz in a similar line to the mineral alabaster, and have it in the orc deserts. A material the orcs themselves probably wouldn't like very much, and consider kind of 'trash', but, all other races probably want a bit of, making for a nice pure 'trading material' for the orcs.
  17. Also, I'd like to note that with these 'Nation mines' you need to keep said Nation's 'technology level' and 'interest regarding mining' in mind. Dwarves would obviously have more extensive mines than any other nation, and use more advanced technology in regard to mining. Greed has led them to their delving. Kha's would probably just dive down in jungle crevices, possibly something like 'cenotes' to pick up the lapis deposits close to the surface. Orcs would have surface-quarries, and make-shift shafts down into the harder rock. Humans would have many wooden contraptions, meant for making mining an easier/safer task, but, most of their mines'd be small. I still don't see Elves mining. Their physique just hasn't meant them for it.
  18. In regard to Quartz mines... Will you be using actual quartz blocks, rather than netherquartz 'ore'..? Considering how the netherrack edges make it look like pieces of butchered meat. I would also like to propose gravel pits, simple stone quarries, definately clay and sandstone quarries, sandpits... Maybe some large 'scavengeable' ruins, which make obtaining mossy bricks, cobble, cracked bricks possible.. Goldmines, mudpits (Soulsand). Glowstone caverns, calcium caves (endstone).. I could make a case for obtaining other crystal-like rocks, through the use of dyes, or the like.. In regard to 'locating' them.. I don't quite feel the quartz in the human lands. I'd think the humans'd mainly have stone quarries, clay pits, gravel pits, possibly ruins. Other than that, I see humans mainly digging for iron or gold. Possibly 'silver' if it could be made possible. In the orcish nation, I'd expect to see mudpits, sandpits, gravelpits, sandstone quarries, quartz mines, calcium caves... The Elves aren't truly miners... Anything beyond basic quarries would be somewhat weird. Though, mudpits, claypits, and possibly glowstone caverns could exist below the forest grounds. Scavengable ruins could also possibly be located here. The Dwarves should be gettings lotsa kewl rocks and crystals. Obsidian, bloodcrystal (redstone), quartz rock, emeralds, diamonds, iron, gold, glowstone... Kharajyr would probably fit to have gold and lapis mines below their jungles.. Though, not particulary extensive. I believe it's mainly about the complexity and size of the mine-works feasible for each race, which should make the difference. Not as much a 'unique resource' for each race. Admittedly, it's much easier to just build a different mine for each race with a unique resource.. Though, that does not necessarily mean an economy'd come into existance. Monopolies do not make for a healthy economy.
  19. Flying Carpets? Yes please!

  21. In the que*r... Erh. Colourful town of Kralta, amongst the March of Raev, Lissa Ransom reads the announcement of the baby-shower on a public notice board... Struggling to correctly pronounce the words, missing the tip of her tongue and all, she ushers.. We'.. 'ha' es'ala'e' qui'ly.. Me'in's 'e wa' al'ea'y wi' chi'.
  22. Actually, it's to create 'Ser/Sir Price'. Both equally puny.
  23. Was a bit short, and didn't get to see much actual man-to-man action. But the colouring was amazing, and it gave a nice overview on the numbers of both forces. Maybe, next time when viewing over the forces, you could add the names of the parties fighting, so people get a general idea, even when they weren't there. :3 Still, real pretty, and nice to watch.
