Last updated: 1/25/2014 Name: Yuln'okar Nicknames: Yu or Yuln Age: 43 as of 1/25/2014 Gender: Male Race: Mali'ker Status: Alive Height: 6'4ft Weight: 214lbs Body Type: Built Eyes: Pale blue Hair: White Skin: Gray Markings/Tattoos: Scars on his back and across the neck. No tattoos. He wears hoop earrings. Health: Excellent Personality: Humble, excessive, well-mannered when sober. Inventory: N/A Further Details: His clothing is a combination of leather and cloth. The orange patches are leather, and the white patches are cloth. It is a sort of robe based on this picture. He wears a headband with a strip of iron attached to it so he can headbutt Uruks without dying. Alignment*: Chaotic good Deity*: He worships Arke'ith in secret. No other deities have been introduced to him. Religion: He prays in his home, but he does not follow religion publicly. Alliance/Nation/Home: Darkhaven Job/Class: Blacksmith Title(s): None Profession(s): Jewel-crafting, casting, metalwork, and leather-work Special Skill(s): He has no special talents or damning qualities. Flaw(s): He can be hotheaded, especially because he finds most Mali'ker customs estranged. Current Status: He is not a magic user currently. Arch-type: Sub-Type: Rank: Weakness(es): Strength(s): Current Spell(s): Fighting Style: Yuln is not a magic user, but he has honed his melee skills. He uses a variety of weapons, and he is skilled in unarmed combat. Trained Weapon: Arming sword Favored Weapon: Longsaber Archery: He can use a crossbow, but he does not use it outside of pvp. He is a trained arbalist. Parents: Unknown Siblings: He had a sister, but she was lost during the White Rose crusades. Status is unknown. Children: He once had a mate, but she miscarried. This gives him a particular attachment to children. Spouse/partner: None Extended Family: Yuln is apart of the Dra'ker clan. He has a particular attachment to Dhaun'che, whom he tries to care for. This is likely because of her neglect, and due to the fact that he lost his chance at having a child. Pet(s): He is Dhaun'che's puppy. Yuln'okar was born within Old Malinor. He was taken at a young age during a war-claim, and he was taken to work for the White Rose. He was young, and he spent most of his time as a slave. His first name was unknown, but he was given the slave name, Iago. He later change his name. Because of this connection, he does not fully understand Elvish customs. He has adopted a more human mindset. This is partially to compensate for my lack of knowing the lore, as well as a reason to try and learn it in character. He would live as a slave for many years, up until the fall of Kaedrin. While there he worked on the fields, mended tools, worked on armor repairs, and he tried to stay away from conflict. He got his scars during this time. He had a particular respect for Baron Toov, who was a fire evocation user. If he ever learns magic, it will be developed because of this respect. After the Adunians took over, he escaped to Malinor. Once there he inked out a living as a craftsman. Eventually, Malinor would fall to the scourge. He made his way to Darkhaven years later, where he is today. He was going to join S'ergt Darkspire as his personal blacksmith, but after noticing his abrasive attitude, his neglect for his family, and his disregard for life, Yuln left. He lived in the valley, working on swords. Soon after, he met Z'ress Darkspire. He pushed her into a river for being edgy, so she broke his nose. This developed into a sort of friendship, and he later joined her clan. During this time, he met Dhaun'che. He plays with her often in the cities, and he tries to treat her like the daughter he lost. To be continued.
  2. She made this lovely picture for me without my asking. I thought I would share it.
  3. Simeon Carrion asks Orlik to eat Alexander.
  4. Simeon watches over the town of Kralta from the balcony of the Krelmstad. Dwarves continue to raid, attacking everyday and storming the gates. Despite the numerous attempts at pushing them back into their lands through war claims, they continue to raid the land of Raev. "I have tried to be civil. On numerous occasions, I have attempted to negotiate peace. We belong in the North, not here. We have not been attacked by the scourge in years, yet the Dwarves attack everyday. The people continue to protest against the attacks; they say that we should be the spearhead against the scourge. In their will, I have done so! I have not aided the war-effort in any way other than supplying the levy for battle." Simeon grips the stone of the battlements, watching as Dwarves walk freely into his town. "They confuse my patience with cowardice. If Heinrik wishes to go North, let him. I will put my boot down and smash these pests into the dirt. They have killed more of my people than the scourge ever did. I will feed their bodies to the crows." Simeon issues a bounty, then prepares the levy. "While his Majesty, King Heinrik, prepares for the war on the North, we will strike the midgets in a series of raids. Kill them all, take their armor, and make them fear the levy mob once more. Aid the Kebabs when you can, but do not get in their way if they do not wish to fight with you. This war is not theirs alone, and I will be damned if I allow another midget to kill innocent peasants." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bounty Lord Simeon Carrion has placed a bounty on every Dwarf. 100 minas will be awarded for every kill. Bring proof of kill. There will be greater rewards for the capture of high ranking officials. Lord Simeon Carrion is looking for good-men to work in the donjon and administer 'treatment' to the midgets.
  5. I realize that I have let recruiting get in the way of culture. Within the next day or so, I am going to remedy this problem. Waiting on Vekaro's reply.))
  6. Simeon Carrion reads the letter, whistling, "Dumb, dumb strelt can write and make words! All life-work is accomplished, now!" He nails a response to the church, but he has doubts that they will attend mass and read it. Dear Band, Good-meet! Seeing as you can write, I assume you can read, and I will try to speak as fluently as possible. I will attempt to address your concerns within this letter. High Pontif Lucien has been orchestrating all religious affairs. He has seen fit to keep the faith, and we hold mass frequently. I have not seen you there! Only close friends go to mass now, and they all cannot write as well as you! You should come, we have built good pews. High-quality! The alter is made of good-stone imported from the South. As for the desecration of church, that was made by dumb-dumb leader before. We have replaced St. Hunwald in the church. The church itself is not finished because all the strelts now live in Oren! It is a terrible thing to see Raevir living in another man's land. How can we complete the church without good, pious strelts to build it! It is most difficult! The yak was a sacrifice to Godanistan, it is not idol. Atheena filled it with salts so it stands up! Taxidermy or something, never heard of the like before. As for abandoning tradition, I am most sorry. I do not know your customs very well, and I have made every attempt to accommodate. You see, it is most difficult because all Raevir live in Oren now! If there are no Raevir to teach the customs, it will just have to go! If you wish to see Raevir culture prosper, make swift return to Raev and help. I am sorry for being born Southeron, and I did not want to be Lord. I took the title because Kralta was falling apart. I wish you and your friends could have been there to fix in my place! You could have improved my speech. If you have any problems with Maer Lark Steelwall, please speak to Lord Siegmund yourself. Steelwall is the only true Raevir left that never gave up on Kralta, excluding Orlik. All other strelts refused to return to Raev, and they killed those wishing to adopt the culture. I am sorry for the economy! We have made many, many minas. I am sad that this grieves you, but the money is needed if we are to finish construction! Please take up any grievance with master builder, Orlik. The titles of Cossack and Strannik were both made by Lord Siegmund. Please refer to his writings seeing as you can read. The only title introduced by myself was Stadtholder, which is Steward. Lissa Ransom was a good servant that faithfully served Raev, but she was only a teacher of herbalism. You are thinking of Von Stahl or Lysander. They were the greatest Raevir teachers. As for my being Raevir, I live in Raev. Therefore, I am Raevir! I do not know where you live, but if you do not live within the baronies of Sabrisky, Augustine, or the march of Raev, you are a foreigner! If you have any other problems, I would be most happy to meet you in person. It has only been my purpose to revive a ghost town and promote communication. Let us work together to fix the problem. If you wish for me to step down, I will do so if there is another Carrion willing to take my place. Please include more information so that I may respond to you directly next time. It was always only my intention to revive a town that you abandoned. Sincerely, Simeon Carrion Edit: I love Cirdanoth [Lissa Ransom], and he did the more for Kralta than anyone else. However, most of his accomplishments were made ooc. His character was simple and he did not do much in character.
  7. MC Name: Cjmate8 Character Name: San cho Skin or Referance Picture: Down below. He is a chubby Halfling. Are you aware it will ONLY be a headshot?: Ayup.
  8. Simeon Carrion sits in the great hallski. He repeatedly smashes his face onto the table; meanwhile, Orlik begins to draw posters for a temporary Strannik. Simeon waves both of arms at a 90 degree angle, trying to strengthen his point. "Everytime! Every single time we are about to go to battle, Strannik goes missing! Crawfyod, Vincent, Breveslav...If this goes on, I will have to take vacation to the desert beaches to quell massive headache." Simeon begins to cry tears. His tears flood into the streets, drowning all of the good-peasants. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ooc
  9. I am gold vip in game, but I never got it on the forums. I would like it changed, if possible. MC name is Cjmate8, both on game and in forums.
  10. Yuln'okar arrives at the refuge camp. He sets himself upon the stone stairs leading up to the tavern. He waits for someone to find him so that he may see about joining the people at the refuge. He wears his best robes, and upon his back he carries a small, foot-anvil. Application sent.))
  11. Simeon Carrion rests in the hallski, resting in his chair. His chin is cupped in the palm of his hand, and he watches Orlik sniff Carrion White. He sighs, refusing it as he is offered. Soon after, a courier arrives with a large canvas. Simeon looks up, not interested in it at first. Orlik makes ready to eat the man, but Simeon beckons him to show the portrait first. His eyes shimmer as it is revealed. Immediately, Simeon goes over towards the map of Raev. There are too many trophies for it to be hung on a fresh piece of stone, so he rips the section where Baile once stood, and then motions for Orlik to bring the portrait over. "Da. Is good." Simeon allows Orlik to eat the courier now.

  13. I do not want it to be an exclusive thing, and I do not want to hand it over to runesmithing origins. If I made it an extension of runesmithing, I would not even be able to use it! Anyone could do this, but I want to make sure that it does not fall into the state that runesmithing is in. I want it to be elven themed, but in the end anyone can do it. I may have worded what I said wrong, but I essentially want to keep this my own thing. I will develop and work out it out over the next couple of weeks to accomplish that. Edit: Based on the lore I wrote, and what is in my head that I have not written, it does not have a lot to do with runesmithing in the first place. I would be breaking lore to piggyback it into acceptance. Runesmithing is done through using special dyes, and you cannot inscribe gems with dye.
  14. I want this to become the Elven form of Runesmith. I do not want to give it to Dwarves. Edit: The purpose behind my doing this is because Dwarves cannot share Runesmithing. I wanted something that myself and others could do as an Elf.
  15. They are physical items, and you can find them in the Malinor auction house.))
  16. How about Gem Divination, or just Divination? With Divination, I could see about expanding this beyond gems. Also, how do I go about getting this approved as a standard. I would like to work on it more, but I want to make sure it is acceptable thus far.
  17. Iago orders a fine set of posters, and he hangs them up in all cities that welcome him. They feature two swords, both finely made for those of noble birth. Sword Auction Two swords have been placed for auction. The auction will be held in New-Malinor over the next elven day. The funds made from these swords will go into creating new, enchanted swords. If you would like to purchase a custom sword, contact Iago. You can find him in house seven within Darkhaven. He has a mailbox, so you can contact him via courier. (Place a custom book in mailbox, or contact me through forums saying you did). Igne'Onn- Born of Fire Bidding will start at 500 minas Vallum'haelum- Grieving Mother Bidding will start at 1,000 minas (Please note that the pictures do not 100% resemble the swords in game. They are the closest I could find based on the custom descriptions.)
  18. *is not sure what glomp means, but he gets it I never heard of it before, Lark!
  19. I am not entirely sure if I want to do that, and I may talk to Lago about it. I eventually want to build on this if it becomes acceptable, and then start adding gems that actually have physical properties. If I do not do this, I may create two seperate posts. I will change this to belief, and then add lore for actual magical items. My main purpose for this is that I want to add non-combat oriented custom items into the game. I want to encourage enchanted items for something other than pvp. Psychological effects were the easiest to come by.
  20. I am using the definition, "The act of evoking". Which in this case is to evoke the properties within the gem. I can see how it is misread given the already established evocations. I may have to change it.
  21. Gem Evocation Gem evocation is the process of evoking inert properties within gemstones. When released, the gems will aid the wearer by emitting certain properties, which can affect the holder both physically and mentally. Although the process of releasing a gem is similar to enchanting, you are not imbuing the gem with magic. You are releasing properties that are already present. Each gem has a certain grade of stress. They take a toll on the bearer and will cause them to become fatigued if overused. This applies to most, but some are lesser than others. I rank them from A-D. This is in order from highest tier to lowest. Evoking gems are all equally difficult; however, the drawback lies in how they are used. Forcing gems to push beyond their limit will destroy them, and they may kill or harm the user. A ranked gems take immediate, immense toll on the body, which may lead to collapse entirely if the person is weak. These will begin to destroy the body if used in prolonged situations. B ranked gems are average gems, they slowly make the person become fatigued. They can be used in an average fight, but it is not suggested for them to be relied on. C ranked gems cause little stress on the body, but they cannot be used all day. D ranked gems cause no stress on the body. These usually do very little, or they work very slowly. The following is a list of gems, their properties, as well as possible in game items they can be role-played as: *I will only be using gems that have possible in game items for them to be roleplayed as. This is to avoid confusion and give the craftsman appropriate trade for the imbued items. Ruby: Redstone dust Ruby gives the wearer increased wisdom. It is helpful for those that are not particularly intelligent, or trying to make an unwise being see error in his train of thought. Rank B. Emerald: Emerald increases fertility. This works for both bearing and conception. [i will have to talk to someone else to see if this will work on the Elf race. I like to think it will, though not to the point of a normal person.] Rank C. Diamond: Diamond is the most difficult of all of the gems to evoke; however, it is the most powerful of all of the gems. It has the power to greatly amplify the power of other gems. Rank A. Amethyst: Spider eye or a soulstone Amethyst calms the nerves, allowing for clarity. It can be used for clearing the mind. This is a common tool, but it can be especially useful for meditating or studying. Rank C. Sugilite: Magenta dye Sugilite is the healer's stone. It is used to amplify healing, both through material and magical means. Rank B if using materials. Rank A if using magic. Carnelian: Glowstone dust Carnelian improves analytical reasoning skills. This includes banishing sorrow, anger, lust, envy, and other emotions that get in the way of thought. Rank C. Garnet: Charcoal Garnet is the stone of blood. It can be used to draw out toxins from the body, or speed up the time it takes for blood to clot. Rank B. Onyx: Ink sac Onyx is used for spiritual guidance. It can be used to obtain enlightenment, as well as speaking to spirits. Rank A. Hematite: Light gray dye Hematite reduces stress and gives the bearer self-awareness of his or her faults. Similar to a sad drunk. Rank C. Jasper: Stone button Jasper protects the user from mind invasion. It gives the bearer energy. Rank B. Sapphire: Lapis lazuli Sapphires invoke peace and happiness within the bearer. If used by a powerful mind, it may be able to read the future. Rank D. Rank A if you are trying to read the future. Topaz: Pink dye Topaz increases both mental and physical stamina. It allows one to push his body and mind to the limit without breaking. After release, it will cause the body to crash. It is similar to an extreme sugar rush. Rank A. Tiger's eye: Gold nugget Tiger's eye destroys anxiety and promotes non-reckless courage. It makes the bearer confident. Rank B. Peridot: Cactus green Peridot is used for growth. Children born small or sickly will benefit from this, but it also encourages the body to heal faster over long periods of time. It does not produce fast results, but it also the only gem that does not drain the body. Rank D. Pearl: Bone meal Pearl is used to balance both the mind and body. It is a less spiritual version of Onyx. Rank C. Sodalite: Light blue dye Sodalite slowly absorbs and neutralizes negative thoughts from both yourself and those around. This gem has a wider area of affect, but the results will greatly diminish if more people have negative thoughts. It works fine on one person, greatly lessens on two, and it only gives small doubt to three. Rank A. Evoking Gems Gem evocation requires that you remove all impurities from the gem. They must be purified, and this may be done in a similar manner to enchanting. Step one: Find an appropriate gem to evoke. Step two: Surround the stone with redstone. The redstone is used as a sponge to draw out the power of the stone. This will expunge the impurities and bring out the true nature of the stone. Step three: Clear your mind, use your hands to hover over the gems, and meditate. You are trying to draw the power out of the stone. Step four: It is suggested that you socket the gem into a prepared item. This makes them more practical to use. Step five: Check to see if you have evoked the gem. Evoked gems give no sign of their power, and they will have to be practiced with. If you have managed to evoke the gem and use it successfully, it will emit a glow depending on the rank. Rank A glows like a torch, while rank D will only make the gem appear a brighter color. Gem Lore I do not want to make up a history for this. I believe it should be a new skill. If I can get it accepted, I will write a story about the people who will discover it. OOC information I do not believe that this craft is particularly strong, and it has zero use in a pvp situation. It is heavily limited in rp fighting as well. I do not think that it is game breaking. It has no other purpose than adding fun and unique roleplay. I hope that it encourages more people to take up a craft trade. Because of this, I do not believe the trade to evoke it should be particularly high. These are not enchanted items, and their purpose is solely for roleplay. They provide no clear benefits. If I can get this accepted, I will improve upon it and add more gems with increasing diversity. Most of the ones I have now deal with emotions, but I think we can find some more interesting things to add. I would like to see more physically practical ones in the future, such as invisibility. The power will be in the gem itself, it has no affect on metal necklaces, rings, or swords. Edit: These will be pretty rare because you will have to /modreq making it. I doubt it will be common knowledge at first. Edit2: My main purpose for this post is to create a skill that actively makes non-combat oriented items. Most custom items are based on combat, and I want to encourage unique roleplay for people that do not like to fight.
