  1. I will take meta over poor roleplay anyday. This whole camping thing where people roll in and ooc spam is just insanity. It is happening from all sides, and no one person can take all fault. It is just spiraling out of control.
  2. I believe that the former rules of arson, although not ideal, are much better than what is currently going on. Previously, you had to ask for permission before committing arson. Now, you do not have to have permission. This is causing ooc feuds to seep into the roleplay, and people are attacking buildings when no one is around to defend them. This is poor roleplay, and I find it strange that gms would condone this kind of underhand attack. Players who want to commit arson should contact the person they are going to attack first so proper roleplay can be made. All this is doing is fueling ooc rampages. You should not be allowed to commit arson when no one, or not many people are online from the opposing faction.
  3. "They must be angry that we did not invite them to our feast."
  4. (Town criers run through the streets of Kralta, announcing the completion of the Krelmstad. Fliers are spread throughout the land, announcing a feast.) The Grand Klomp It has been many years in the making, but the Krelmstad is finally complete due to the organization efforts of Maer Orlik. The legalization of cactus green created a strong response for the work effort, and construction increased tremendously! In order to celebrate this grand achievement, the people of Raev will be hosting a feast in the Krelmstad. There will be food, women, games, and gambling! In order to honor our fallen allies, we will be holding a tournament to raise funds for the construction of murals. Participation will be 50 minas. The winner may take half of the money collected, or be gifted property within Kralta. All races are invited, excluding Dwarves. The reason for this is to discourage fighting outside of the tournament. Also, anyone from the North will not be invited. The reason for this is that they are gross, and their fingers will fall into the soup. Date: 12/29/13 Sunday, 7pm eastern Location: Kralta
  5. Assad Nasser sits within the great hall of the Krelmstad, preparing a decree for those faithful to Kralta and the estates that look to it for protection. When it is finally completed, he hands it to Orlik to distribute. It reads: Edict People of Kralta, I speak to you with utmost sincerity, and with great candor, when I say we have failed to maintain the faith, culture, and protection of our people. It was Lord Siegmund Carrion's wish that we become a great nation and that we spread our structure and beliefs to the people of this world. Today, I ask that you look at yourself. Instead of trying to fix the mistakes of others, maintain your body and your mind. Maintain your home. Your family. And help your countrymen strive in this harsh land. These things are most important. When all this is accomplished, look to other nations. In order to better govern our people, the council will be reformed until a Lord is chosen to take the seat. As steward, I appoint Roderick Krawfyod the title of Strannik. I ask that he reform the strelt militia, organize it to the best of his ability, and lead them when the call to arms arises. It is his duty to maintain the peace and bring the hammer of war down upon our enemies. I appoint Orlik the title of Maer. It is his duty to collect taxes, govern the people, and maintain quota. He will also organize events that will promote our culture. These positions are temporary until a more official document may be produced. The allocation of land and property has been poor. In order to reconstruct Kralta, all citizens are required to have documentation of property. All documentation will be recorded in the library of the Krelmstad (Both in game via books, and on the forums). Property owners have one elven week to claim property. Failure to do so will result in the repossession of property. The new allocation of property will be handled by the Maer under the guidance of the rest of the council. In order to maintain order and smite down those who seek to harm us, all villagers who join the strelt milita will be paid a regular income and given refuge in the barracks. Strelts will be given formal training. This will be handled by the Strannik, and he will be funneled money through the Maer. We must pay homage to those that fought with us against our enemies. Without their support and influence, we would not have the position we have today. Murals will be made to honor the following historical figures: Lord Augustus Blackmont, King Thomas Chivay, Lord Hadrien Sarkozy, and Toveah Goldman. Discussions about this will be made at a later date, and this is not a top priority. Construction of the church and the castle will be completed within necessary time. I ask that the clergy maintain active mass, that they promote conversion, and that they recruit new monks to maintain the upkeep. This includes maintenance and tending to the winery. Worship of any lesser being will not be tolerated within the church. Outside of the church, I ask that villagers exercise restraint when members of other nations pass through Kralta. -David Ibn Nasser OOC information: I need to go ahead and make it clear that inactive players are getting removed from the locks so the houses can be reassigned. I felt the need to give plenty of time before I started breaking into homes, even if some of them have been abandoned for months.
  6. "The underbelly of the Krelmstad has grown cold, Orlik. Have you left it to ruin?"
  7. Assad steps through the streets of an empty Kralta. It is devoid of all life, except that of the crows that feast on the carcasses of yaks, and the maggots that follow after. He begins to climb the ancient steps, moving into the towers above. All around him is ruin. The White Rose gone. The Flays gone. Baile gone. Valois. Aldersburgh a shattered husk. Amidst the chaos, the Krelmstad still supports him. A block of stone falls into the chasm below, causing the murky water of the river Bub to cascade upward. He travels north, towards Abresi. He moves through the ghettos, looking for the strelts. He watches them squalor in the ruined streets of a fat man's land. "Did anyone actually accomplish anything!" He hisses, hands gripped into fists. "It seems that we were preparing for something, but all you did was stay calm. All Siegmund did was end an era." He begins to move through the crowd. "I was always told that this would be the age of daring men. That we would make something of this world, pick up the shattered fragments of Horen V. A world devoid of the fat nobles whom the Horen's catered to. And they are gone now! Yet you stand here, sleeping in their streets. Our castle crumbles! The church of Godanistan is riddled with cobwebs! Our breweries no longer produce Carrion Black! Our livestock starve while you eat the remains of a dead king." He begins to quiver in anger, in frustration. "You left it to die while you dine on the accomplishments of others! This land should have died with Horen, with some honor still intact!" He stares at a strelt. His voice lowers, "Where is your obstacle?" Assad looks to the others. "You think you are Raevir!" He screams. "The Raevir would not let the Lions take Kralta. The Raevir would not let the Teutons take Kralta. The Raevir would not let the beastmen kill us. The Raevir would not let the Adunians mock us. The Raevir would not let the Dwarves control us!" He beats his fist against his heart. "You think you are the first to try and kill it!" He stumbles away from them, gripping his head and muttering, "Where is Ironcrow?"
  8. "All men have the right to one thing: Their person. The work he does, his labour, is his. Whatever he mixes his labour with is his, so long as he gives as good and as plenty to another. The Adunians must prove that they are capable of maintaining their land, respect that of their neighbours, and prove the importance of their culture in regards to our world."
  9. I suppose I am the only one that thinks VA is not strict enough. *Hides in a corner. -I think that a cooler idea for an Antagonist would be an actual mortal. Perhaps a mortal character that believes his actions are justified for the greater good. There are a lot of wars going on at any given time, perhaps he thinks that he could be the war to end all wars.
  10. David flings a axe at an Adunian only to have him catch it. "By the Creator, it is true! They must be descendants of Edgehand!"
  11. David Nasser reads the bulletin board, rubbing his cheek and thinking. "who is left in Hanseti to tax? Orcs? Orcs do not pay taxes."
  12. Drop all of the smilies and fluff, and I will be okay with it. This is an important document created to verify server rules. It does not need to be personal. I do not have a problem with the rules, but I know it will be impossible to enforce every single thing mentioned. Rules 7, 9, and 14 seem silly to be reported or even warned for. It should be something to strive for, but you are going to alienate people whom get tired of being badgered. I would also like to point out that the gm community, excluding a few, did not take this seriously and broke rule 19. Do they need to be punished? Of course not. Should it be a rule? Not really. It is something you strive for, but it can not be enforced. http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/94213-a-march-for-war/ Edit: If this was considered an ooc post, your writing style would be fine. However, a news post is meant to provide information to the reader. It needs to be written clearly and to the point. Personal comments should be excluded and posted in a seperate post or not at all.
  13. These rules should be revised. It seems like half of them are what you want to happen and not what can be enforced. Differentiating rules and expectations is key, because according to this a lot of people have the potential to be banned from not only the forums but the game in general. Rule number 17 seems grossly unfair and it sounds like you are attacking the community directly instead of laying down the code of conduct. The overuse of exclamation points and emoticons makes it difficult for me to take this serious. Edit: Honestly, it makes me want to avoid the forums altogether for anything excluding applications.
  14. I do not think that gms should be selling anything in the first place, and I find it unfair that 'nations' get exclusive access to the horses. Make the spawn and breed rates low and let them be spawned in plain biomes. Give everyone a fair chance at trying to aquire horses and do not give them to specific people to deal with.
  15. House Nasser History House Nasser originates from a band of nomadic Southeron tribes that attempted to ink out a living in the Holy lands. The denizens of the tribes believed that true faith came from hard work and maintaining the body. They believed that the body was the greatest gift from the Creator and that the worship of items created by men to be blasphemous. Upon landing in Anthos, Abdullah had already convinced several families to travel with him and practice this new sect of religion. Many had lost faith in the Creator after losing their homes, but Abdullah taught them that these were merely possessions. If they lived meager lives, they would not suffer from their losses. They traveled to what is now often referred to as the Orcish Badlands and lived frugally, making the most out of what the deserts had to offer and hunting animals in the northern jungles. During his time as village elder, Abdullah met with many successes. The people flourished and their faith blossomed anew in the cold deserts. They worshiped freely on their own time and developed new styles of worship. Believing the body to be the temple of worship, they took up dance and music. The dance was meant to celebrate life and praise the Creator for his ultimate gift to all beings. After an accidental fire, local shaman began to cultivate herbs from the jungles. Upon inhaling the fumes, they entered an out of body trance and saw vivid images. Many believed this to be a gift sent by the Creator for communication. After the death of Abdullah, the tribes began to decline. The tribes thrived due to their nomadic lifestyle, but as the Orc populace grew they were pressed to hide in the southeastern mountains. Known for their swift and ruthless raids, these Orcs soon threatened their existence and lifestyle. Their presense denied them access to the jungle, their main source of medicine and food. A leader emerged, Sahir Ibn Asad. Gathering many young men of the tribes, Sahir domesticated horses and began to make use of the short bow. They copied the Orc's fighting style of hit and run tactics. Although gaining many wins and taking back the jungles, the populace began to dwindle. They were not a large community and could not keep defending themselves. They were forced to abandon the jungles they loved so dearly and go north. One of these men was Sabri Ibn Nasser, a grandson of Abdullah. Sabri had lived with the tribes most of his life, and he found the idea of a land unexplored to be exciting. He broke off from the tribes and took up the merchant trade. He would buy and collect supplies from the wilds and selling them in Salvus. After he made enough, he began to trade with the Dwarves of Kal'Azgoth for rare goods and flip them in other parts of Anthos. This behavior angered his tribesmen, and they shunned him. Sabri did not care. He had made new friends in the cold lands of the north. After falling in love with a local peasant girl from Kralta, Sabri settled. An idea foreign to him. He soon began to establish cattle ranches in the wilds, Auvergne, Raev, and Norfolk. He gained a burning desire to surpass one of the men he traded with, Toveah Goldman. Leather made him rich, and upon his death he had acquired a sum of 55,000 minas. The majority of his fortune was given to Siegmund Carrion, whom had gifted Sabri with the title of Baron and the lands north of Kralta. Sadly, Sabri did not live to see it. He died from a fall in Brigand's Pass whilst travelling from Abresi to Kal'Azgoth. Sabri's successor would be David Ibn Nasser. David was born from Sabri's sister whom had died during conception. The father was killed by Orcs several months before. The tribes had dwindled into near nonexistence by this point, so it fell to Sabri to take up his nephew. However, Sabri had never seen it necessary to build a home. He lived in the tavern of Kralta and did not see the need. Indeed, he never shook off his nomadic ways. David was given to a friend, Rose Valois, to raise. During David's childhood he developed an intense love for the Creator. Rose taught him formal worship and traditional Oren philosophy. After leaving the confines of Rose's manor, David set out to take over where Sabri had left off and eventually became one of the richest men in Anthos. 16. I would like to point out some ooc information so people are not confused. The county Greymarsh belongs to Lord Carrion, not the geminine family. It was gifted to him by Denims through marriage.))
  17. *Simple notes are tacked on the bulletin boards of most human settlements, as well as Kal'Azgoth. Buying gravel for road construction in Savoie. If interested, please locate the Lord High Treasurer at the Krelmstad. Gravel is needed most urgently, but flint shall be purhcased as well. Gravel is priced at two mina each. Flint three. If you are interested in work, we are also hiring men to begin shoveling gravel and creating roads. These roads shall stretch from the county of Augustine to the county of Greymarsh.
  18. David Nasser reads the claim, pinching his brow and sighing,"This island is not tomb enough to hide the slain." This seems like overkill, but it is a good time to compare the size of what remains of the human kingdoms since the mass exodus.))
  19. David Nasser can not help but chuckle to his dear friend, Lark Steelwall, after surveying the poster. "Sounds like traditional Abresian snobbery to me. Are they looking for a tax reduction?"
  20. If the former Blackmonts do not want the ruins to be there, we will respect their wishes. You can change it back to just flat land and we will just build camps there instead. It is not my desire to cause an ooc blood feud. we simply thought that this would be the best rp and were quite excited.)) Edit: I was told that the main part in contest was the standing part of the castle. we just want the ruins. I agree with Zezimus.))
  21. David Nasser fills out a small note and hands it to the boy. "In place of Lord Carrion, our Strannik will be conducting a census. This census will be composed of all able-bodied persons within Raev for we use the levy system and do not have a standing military."
  22. [i am just going to delete this post. I was told the wrong information.]
  23. I would like to point out that we are not going to restore it. we are going to build a ghetto area for our va members after this antag biz is over in that location. we will build it up enough to be functional. It is not going to be another Dreadfort.))
