  1. Kralta Harvest Festival The good people of Kralta begin to wind down, falling asleep due to the excessive fumes of burning cactus green. They will wake up with great hunger, and eat their harvest bounty. The festival began with the sacrifice of good-yak to Godanistan, a gift for a better harvest next year. His head was bashed in quickly by Orlik of Kralta. Then the great race began! The good peasants ran, curb-stomping their friends as they ran towards victory. Vincent Olo II was victorious, and he was gifted the Hand of Godanistan by King Heinrik himself. He is now Lord of the Harvest. Then they all gathered in the tavern. They arm-wrestled and smoked cactus green for the rest of the day. King Heinrik smashed in Lorick's hand, then chased him out of town when he did not pay off the bet. Meanwhile, an Orc attempted to beat in the head of an annoying, bored child. All good peasants rallied, jumping on her and beating her into the dirt for disrespecting. All in all, a good festival! Also, Lark sold stuff.
  2. Iago pulls off the poster, reads it, then takes off his glasses. He throws them on the ground. OOC- The spiked collar is an inside joke with one of friends regarding loving Dark Elves.
  3. Iago nails a poster to the noticeboard within New Malinor. It features a crude drawing of a Mali'Ker. The writing is poor, as if written by someone that was barely taught. The words do not seem to be written by anyone native to the Elven territories. Darkhaven Metal Work and Crafts My name is Iago. I am trying to find work within Darkhaven, but I will take up jobs from anyone right now. I mostly make jewelry, but I also dabble in glass and metal-work. I am a member of the Grand Hammer. If you are a Mali'Ker living in Darkhaven, please meet with me for a discount. List of items that I can and have crafted: All neck-wear, including amulets, necklaces, brooches, beads, rosaries, and pendants Rings Bangles, both for feet and wrists Piercings Head-wear, including tiaras and crowns Crystal orbs Glass eyes Stained glass Eating/Drink utensils Spiked collars Farming tools Custom armor and weapons If you want something, and it is not listed, I can try to make it. If it is a foreign concept to me, I may not be able to do it. If you cannot meet with me to order something, you may send a courier or pigeon to Darkhaven and hope it finds me. I will then make the item and place it in the New Malinor auction house. I prefer to meet in person. OOC- Items that I make are usually custom, so that means I /modreq and rp making them so I can get custom name/description. Because of this, it takes time for me to make anything. Be patient. I do not do anything OOC, you must contact me through roleplay. Mc name: Cjmate8 Skype contact: Sabrinasser3

  5. Simeon moves towards Lorick, watching the man stand on his house. He holds Lorick's job notice. "Oi, Lorick. C'mere. I got a job for you. And get off the rough, you flatfoot. You'll end up falling through."
  6. Kralta Noticeboard The noticeboard is lined with pieces of news, recruitment posters, and directions. Some of this parchment will fall off over time; however, new posts will be made. (This forum post is designed to be a virtual noticeboard. The actual one is much too small to list everything that we must say. Anyone is allowed to post on the bulletin board, so long as it is relevant to Kralta or it's holdings. This can be used to find jobs, look for people for a job, or advertise your shop. Only use this thread to post something on the bulletin board, or respond to something on the bulletin board.) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Simeon posts a sheet of parchment on the board in order to educate dumb-dumb peasants about Kralta's military. Raev Levy All citizens of Raev are required to join the levy in times of battle, unless physically incapable. The levy is the main military of Raev, and they are organized by our Strannik. When we are not in wartime, the levy will be used as an 'organized workforce'. During wartime, we will defend our hold or fight for Oren. We will raid the enemies outside of warclaims, looting their iron and causing mayhem through glorious strelt mob rush. Strelt Strelts are peasants that have sworn fealty to House Carrion. Strelts make up the backbone of the levy, and all citizens of Kralta must become a Strelt before purchasing property. Anyone who owns property and has not done so will be asked. Cossack The cossack guard is an elite force as far as peasants go, and the only form of organized military in Raev. They serve as protectors of Kralta. In order to become a cossack, you must first be a strelt. Only after years of service, piety, and honor can a strelt become a cossack. All cossacks will be taken care of and sheltered in the keep. They are the fist of House Carrion. Strannik The Strannik is the leader of the strelt mob, as well as the Cossacks.
  7. I built a shop chest, but I am not sure how to set up selling blocks. I asked this in help, but I did not save the page I was linked. I am VIP, my problem is that I do not know the command/sign text.
  8. Simeon sends out reworked posters. He adds a note at the bottom. "Scourge recently broke into our stores, dirtying our pasties with their grubby fingers and dropping bits of skin into our stew. We will be setting back the date."
  9. Good-Kralta Harvest Festival The people of Kralta will be hosting the upcoming harvest festival. We invite you to attend so that we might enjoy the end of the harvest and prepare for the upcoming year. There will be food, games, and ceremony. We will be looking for a priest to consecrate the land and to lead us in prayer for the feast. A race will be held to determine our Lord of the Harvest. We will sort out additional prices later. If you have any suggestions for other events we might do, please submit your idea. Events: -Blessing of the land -Goods will be sold at the market -Good-Kralta feast -Running competition Details: Location: Kralta Date: January 12 2014 Time: 3pm EST, 8pm GMT
  10. Iron is pretty dirt cheap right now. It should not be. Any Joe can vote a couple of times and buy a full set quickly. I know my ideas are pretty weak, but I think that something needs to be done, because I would rather have a chestful of iron than minas anyday. I can trade the iron for stuff more than the minas. Minas are just kind of worthless for anything except land.
  11. I do not feel that minas are terribly useful. Money should be used for survival, which includes the purchase of food and shelter. In Minecraft in general, surviving is not a huge deal. People will just give you food and shelter. I do not think there is any fixing to this, so there needs to be a better use for the minas. The people that try and get minas have a lot, but most people just do not care. It seems that the only thing it is good for is buying land. I want to encourage people to get jobs and make minas so the money circulates. No one is going to try and fix this through roleplay. It has been tried, and it often fails. Yes, minas are used for things, but for the most part it does not play an important role. You can be a king and not have any money whatsoever. I think that for minas to be truly useful, there needs to be outside moderation. I will make a number of suggestions, but some of them may be impossible to do because I do not know the extent to which our developers can create plugins. 1. Force land to fallow during certain time periods on the calendar. During this time, wheat will destroy itself. Make that which can be farmed a bit rare by causing crop failure. This will force people to save food or buy it. Perhaps hunger rates could be increased. 2. Make animal breeding significantly longer. Possibly add animal disease which randomly kills cows. Allow animals to be purchased from GMs for high prices. 3. Major item sink. Perhaps when we switch maps, we can find a reason to dump just about everything. Iron can be significantly regulated. I want to see people fighting in cloth armor, iron armor is meant to be expensive and no random peasant should have it. 4. Create a GM protagonist team that fights back the antagonist. The extent to which they are successful will depend upon donations made, either through money, armor, or food. This will function as a money sink. They would not be the main team doing stuff, this should fall to players. It is just something extra. Players could maybe 'purchase' a GM for help in battle against the Antagonist. Perhaps as protectors or extra magic support in battles. It could be like mercenary contracts, and each Gm could make a generic person with description and skills. They could be listed and purchased for use in a battle through the forums. The event team could handle the contracts, but they should be fairly expensive. Several thousand minas each. 5. In addition to number three, allow the purchase of fictional npc guards for settlements. These fictional npcs can be recorded down by gms, and if the settlement is attacked a GM can defend it to a certain extent. This will act as both a money sink and a useful tool for people that are offline. These fictional npcs could be villagers, but I am not sure how that would affect lagg. I am sure there are more, but this is all I could come up with.
  12. Simeon Carrion hears word of the death of Borislav. "He wanted so much to be Maer...it is a shame."
  13. Poor Relief Act 1449 The March of Raev has not seen true organization in it's labor since the initial construction of the Krelmstad. Organization of farms, mines, and lumber camps have been poor. In that we may finally relieve our people of their miserly status, peasants of Kralta will be organized into productive workforce; Reform will be made to territories within Raev's domain, which includes Kralta, Augustine, and Sabrisky. I. Illylis Orway is to be appointed as Maer and overseer of the poor. The current Maer, Orlik, will be promoted to Stadtholder. She will be transferred property ownership of the poor house, as well as the future guild hall. This position allows her to hire farmers, miners, woodsmen, and lumberjacks. Money will be funneled through her in order to pay them appropriately. She will also be responsible for housing the homeless, feeding them, and giving them jobs so they can be moved into suitable housing in the future. Until an appropriate seat is made in the Krelmstad, we ask that she work from her home II. The former baronies of Sabrisky and Augustine are to be turned into work camps. Sabrisky will become a logging camp, and Augustine will become farmland. All yaks and chickens are to be transported to Augustine. III. Construction of a larger poor house, as well as the guild hall, will begin post haste. A stockpile will be created for depositing resources and allocating pay. IV. Production of Kralta brew is to begin mass production. This will become our staple export. (This will begin once the plugin is working). V. In order to govern the people better, a council will be formed. This is designed to take work load off the Lord, so he will not have to carry out mundane tasks. This council will be composed of the Strannik, the Maer, and the Stadtholder. The Strannik is the levymaster of Raev. He will carry out the orders of the Lord, lead strelts into battle, and maintain the defense of Raev and her people. The current Strannik is Vincent Otto II. The Maer has control over the workforce of Raev. It is her responsibility to maintain finances, allocate labor, and organize day-to-day affairs while the Lord is away. This only includes minor responsibilities, and most official business will be attended to by the Maer. The Maer may attend to housing while the Steward is away; however, the Steward should be notified and documentation should be made. The current Maer is Illylis Orway. The Stadtholder has direct control over the town of Kralta; This includes housing, construction, and general organization. He has authority over the other members of council. The Stadtholder holds all the powers of the Lord in his absence. The current Stadtholder is Orlik. In the event of an emergency, and if both the Lord and a council member is not present, another member of the council may shoulder the responsibilities of the missing member. The order of importance goes as: Lord, Stadtholder, Maer, Strannik. -Simeon Carrion
  14. OOC: IGN: Cjmate8 Skype: Sabrinasser3 Time Zone: Eastern IC: Name: Iago Age: 243 Race: Elf Place of Residence: Darkhaven Why do you want to become a blacksmith/to join?: I would like to join your guild for security. With the destruction of Old Malinor, I have lost my shop and most of my belongings. I must find a new smithy in order to practice my trade. If you are a blacksmith, how long have you been one? Nine years. How experienced do you think you are? I am not experienced with armor smithing. I make jewelry for a living, but I consider myself one of the best of those few that still remain active in the field. Do you have any techniques or ideas to share or work on within Grand Hammer?: I know how to build molds, crucibles, and how to buff scratches out of old jewelry. I believe there is a lack of Jewelers nowadays, so I would like to bring the art back. Tell us about yourself(2 paragraphs max): I served the Chivay many years ago after they took me in as a slave. Back then, I fixed their farming tools and mended armor after they got into a scrap. After they left for the new continent, I moved to Malinor and began polishing jewelry for the princedom there. I exported rings to the Dwarves; They took a liking to them. After the fall of Malinor, I lost most of my equipment. I have been scratching out in Darkhaven lately, but I am looking for a smithy in one of the major capitals so I can properly sell myself.
  15. Assad posts a note on the bulletin board. "Kralta has chickens. We can sell a hen and a rooster to you."
  16. My point is that banning people is just a means to an end. So is perma killing. What is stopping someone from just making a new character if they get perma killed? We don't need to punish people, we need a solution.
  17. You are being toxic. This kind of attitude is why most of the community does not have respect for the Gms. If something is wrong, we need to find a solution, not go around banning left and right. This causes people to just get up and leave altogether. You want another pugsy purge?
  18. This is the problem with the server, and why it has been falling apart since Mog jumped ship. We don't need regulation, wield that ban-hammer high. On a serious note, the amount of ban reports are ridiculous. If you make the rules strict and clear, people will follow them. By loosening the va system, all you are doing is feeding the bad roleplayers on this server, which is why we are now having problems with harassment. Being a villain is too common. It takes away from the people who are actually good at using their va.
  19. I honestly feel that the va system is a bit lax, and it is approaching near removal. People do not like to write va posts, and the application is getting smaller every time I see it. Although you are pleasing the community, you are making a bunch of new villains. I saw a 13 year old elf girl with more evils than my orc friend. It is crazy how many people have vas, and at this point it is really so they can do stuff without being knocked down. The people that I know who have vas think they should be more strict, but it is going in the opposite direction. I am sure some vat will go on here saying that every time they loosen something, the community complains. It should have never been loosened in the first place. As my dear friend Bill said, "You are the mother who gives the spoiled child a piece of candy every time they whine to you." The people that have put work into their vas actually want the va strict so they mean something. Most of villains on this server are those that just want to play edgy assassins and steal from everyone. If the va system is ever completely removed, anarchy will assume.
  20. What of our glorious minuteman army that parachutes in to the fray the moment TeamSpeak flares up?
  21. 1C - Arson / Destruction of Property- The act of lighting a building, tent, support, or whatever else makes logical sense, on fire. Destroying the property of an individual, whether to use it as a entrance, to gain resources, or to cause chaos. (In the instance of destroying/burning a building, or for small or tasteful destruction, such as the vandalism of a gravestone, removal of a tree, or destruction of a window, the amount of damage falls to the discretion of the GM overseeing it. Such thing as total burning down of a building should rarely happen.) The deliberate act of going someplace with intention of breaking belongings. Whether it be from item frames, signs, chairs, stairs, windows, etc. This va does not only apply for fire, but for stone as well. You can knock out supports and cause the entire thing to crumble, so let's not stick to just fire. If we must insist on sticking to just fire, it is breaking immersion. You say that this is a fantasy server, but it is heavily restricted to being medieval by the community. The game seemed to be based on GoT at one point. Most people that have a half decent community build with immersion in mind. This is why you see places like Aldersburgh and old Furnestock fall apart, they are terribly planned and poorly place. I may have focused on the old rule in the first sentence of my post, but I tried to make it clear that I do not want the old rule back. You should not have to have permission to do anything with your va, but I think that most people who are in agreement with me have stated that they want to have a chance to actually be online for the event. This is my problem. Most of my issue with your argument can be found on the quote I made to Jistuma on the second page.
  22. I do not see why you would burn down anyone's house just because you feel like it. The purpose of a va, and I believe it is stated quite clearly, is to promote better roleplay by giving va's to those that are responsible enough to have one. If no one is around to enjoy the arson roleplay, what is the point in it? Edit: I am not very clear here, but I basically say that you should know the person whose house you are burning if there is any point in burning it in the first place. The ooc statement does not matter, and I do not want to see things go back to the old way. I think that the current rule needs to be fixed because it is doing serious harm to the community. If it is clear that the person has been inactive for several months, I do not care if their things get burned down, but I do care about the guy who gets on daily but missed his house getting burned because he was in bed. I cannot think of any reason why you would want to burn down a house without the opposing players presence, except maybe for ooc giggles. Your points are spot on, "It was a random house" or "My character just doesn't like yours". I would like to add, "I just felt like it". You wrote, "GM's should just not burn down things if proper roleplay isn't done. No more "Hits the flint and steel and lights the house on fire" like I have seen happen." I agree completely, and a lot of my grief is with this; however, you say that it breaks immersion when you have to wait for someone. It may break immersion for the va holder, but it totally screws over the guy that actually used the building and wakes up to find it gone. That is immense immersion breaking, and it outweighs the guy with a va in my opinion. You post this example, "Heck, if you were online, you would probably just be left inside the house tied up to burn with it." I would much rather have this happen than wake up and have no idea what happened. At least I got to participate in this. Knowing what kind of roleplay that you do, I find it difficult to believe that you actually condone that statement. I expect you of all people to know the importance of losing in roleplay. Edit: I do not think a specific time or anything should be enforced, but va holders should not be allowed to burn stuff down when no or few people are online to benefit from it. I focus a lot on the ooc feuds, but that is mainly because it has become such a big issue today. Knox, you know what I mean. You need to leave well enough alone before you get provoked into a ban report.
  23. I would like to point out that I am alright with stuff being burnt down. I have allowed people to burn down my things in the past. My problem is the lack of roleplay in the past couple of days when arson is involved. This is something I am very passionate about, because I feel that all people have a right to try and protect what is theirs. It is so annoying when you are raided without warning, especially when the raids occur when your friends/neighbors/allies/ are offline.
