In-Character Details Character Name: Ophelia Aulesius Character Race: Human [Female] Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: I was born in a small village. I can never remember the names to them. I just know it was really small; probably Ager. I knew everyone, and everyone knew me. I remember people telling me about my mother. How she died giving birth to me. Oh, and how my father left shortly after, to join a guild. No one really wanted to elaborate on the topic, so my past is a little vague. I think after that, my mother's friend took me in. No one told me why she did. But I wasn't one to complain. She was kind and loving, just like any mother should have been. For awhile, I didn't even know she adopted me. She also owned a inn at Arethor, where I spent most of my childhood. I recall her telling me about how much I looked like my mother. At least that was when I was still 8. Being 16 now, my light, brown hair reaches up to my waist. I'm not too tall. Around 5 feet. I never have the time to measure anymore. I have green eyes, just like my father. That's what I hear, at least. On sunny days, I like to sit under a shady tree and read a couple of books. I'm surprised I was born a Human, rather than an Elf. Sadie-- my mother's friend --found me a bow when I was around 12. Since then, I've put down my books and practiced my precision. But I wouldn't mind a few novels from time to time. But most times, I'm helping Sadie run the inn, cleaning around and cooking. Unfortunately, I wasn't born with the best social skills. If I was good at anything, it'd be keeping to myself. I'd much rather watch the clouds go by than converse and gossip with other villagers. If I stay silent, it allows me to understand how everything works. I can easily spot mistakes, and even comprehend things quicker. Sometimes I miss being able to tell someone my feelings, though. But here I am now. I can't say I don't want to know what happened to my father. I never knew him. But I always get this feeling in my stomach that if I knew him, I'd know who I am. What are your characters ambitions?: To find her father. Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: Ophelia prefers not to engage in any type of combat, and only self-taught herself to learn archery for self defense. She's very stubborn and a sucker for sword-weilders. Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? The moon was crawling its way back into the sky as I made my way into Arethor again. Traveling through settlements was tiring, honestly. I clutched the pocket of my cloak, wary of the pickpockets that roamed the streets. My attention turned to an unfamiliar voice nearby. It came from a small shop, owned by a ragged dwarf. Scanning his belongings, he seemed to have been selling some wares. I sighed. Pulling out a few Mina. It wasn't much. Around 25 or so. I enclosed them into my palm and headed toward the dwarf. Before he could speak at all, I sheepishly handed him the coins. But that's all I did. I didn't wait for him to say thank you, or even give me one of his items. I quickly turned my heel and hurried back to Sadie's inn. You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? I admit it. I was lost. I knew I was on the Oren Road, but other than that, I was lost. The cool breeze chilled me a bit, as I continued to walk through the dim night. My feet carried me to a small pond, surrounded by a few trees. There was a sudden ruckus near by. I sprinted to hide between the foliage, glancing to see what had happened. A small Dwarf and an Orc had started an argument. Honestly, how stupid could a Dwarf be to anger an Orc? Either way, it had no chance against that 7-foot beast. Whether the Dwarf did anything or not, it didn't matter. I had to either save it or let it get crushed into Dwarf mush. Then again, I can't honestly try to attack the Orc. Otherwise, I'd be in trouble. Suddenly, I had an idea. I scurried up a tall tree, hoping it would be high enough for even an Orc to have trouble climbing it. Standing onto a thick, long branch, I pulled out my bow that had been tucked between my leather quiver and my back. I subconsciously licked my lips and positioned my arrow into the bow. My middle and index finger pulled back the bowstring. Only taking a few seconds to align the arrowhead to it's destination, I quickly let go. It soared past the leaves of the trees, past the dwarf, and right where I wanted it to be. I heard the arrow dig into a tree, a few inches away from the Orcs head. Hopefully, my plan would go smoothly. I watched the ogre-like monster look around, very much startled at the closeness of the arrow. This gave the Dwarf enough time to run away. I sighed in relief. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: The rays of the sun beat down on me, as I pulled on the hood of my cloak. Hopefully the shade would cool me down, but I was reconsidering it. I strided along the dirt road, when an old man came into view. He was still a few feet away. Nothing really made this man any different from other people, other than his old cane, so I payed no mind. Instead, I looked ahead, seeing a fork in the road. Unfourtunatly, there were no signs indicating which lead to Malinor. My attention turned back to the man. After all, he might know the way. After building up enough courage to speak, I tapped his shoulder. "Excuse me sir, do you know the way to--" Before I could continue, he fell to the floor. I jumped back. Had I done that? My eyes searched him, wondering if he was seriously injured. Next to him, lay his broken cane. Next to that, was an open sack. A sack of shiny Minas. A wave of temptation came over me. Who wouldn't get that feeling? I quickly waved it away and helped the man up. Suddenly, a thought crossed my mind. Why would a man be carrying this kind of money around? It was way too odd. As soon as I dusted him off, I bent over to collect the coins. Honestly, I knew something was wrong with this situation, so I offered to follow him, seeing if he'd get to his destination safely.
