I know the subjects of Neckties and their acceptance into the community has been an uncovered topic.... Or at least, I couldn't find a post that led me to it.
In case you don't know what a necktie is
A tie or necktie is a long piece of cloth worn for decorative purposes around the neck or shoulders, resting under the shirt collar and knotted at the throat. Variants include the ascot tie, bow tie, bolo tie, zipper tie, cravat and the clip-on tie. The modern necktie, ascot, and bow tie are descended from the cravat. Neck ties are generally unsized, but may be available in a longer size. Men and boys wear neckties as part of regular office attire or formal wear. Neckties can also be worn as part of a uniform (e.g. military, school and waitstaff), whereas some choose to wear them as everyday clothing attire. Neckties are traditionally worn with the top shirt button fastened, and the tie knot resting comfortably between the collar points. Among younger men, neckties are sometimes worn as a casual item, tied loosely around the neck, with the top shirt button unfastened.
IRL History
Neckties were originally called Cravat. The Cravat's earliest traces were in Rome, where soldiers wore bands of cloth around their necks to symbolize which group they belong in. They vanished for a while, before re-appearing in the 16th century, in Croatia. They were worn by Mercenaries under the rule of King Louie XIII of France, to symbolize their devotion to him. They were also worn for the idea of psychological protection from spears.
So, that's my argument. Ties should be somewhat OOCly accepted, due to the fact that they are quite old, even if it isn't a 'modern day necktie'. Of course, they don't have to be accepted RPly in the world of Anthos, and seen as an odd new style. I've personally asked before, 'Would suits be allowed to wear?' And I was returned with, "Yes, but make sure to avoid ties".
