Cliche characters, based off of something that already exists (video game chars, TV shows... GoT-ripoffs are a major problem)... This is a short list of examples: -white or 'raven black' hair -grey, red, or pink/purple eyes -one blind eye -eye scar -hidden knives -katana or dual daggers -half of face burnt -has acrobatic skills and is constantly on a rooftop or tree -assassin -orphaned -seeks vengeance -raised by sensei or in the woods or both -female: incredibly beautiful -sticks up for women's rights in a medieval time period?!?!?! Of course, there's more. But that's a general idea. -
Prove you're not edgy! If you can prove to me your character isn't an edgy piece of crap, I will fully paint a portrait of them! Your submission must explain what your character wears and looks like, and their character traits and a very short summary of their backstory. Recent examples of my work: Good luck!

My experience here was a lot like this a couple months back! I guess it was a little less confusing regarding Nexus and that I already knew how to roleplay, but everything was so empty and alien and nobody offered a lot of help. I eventually got sad and sat around in Malinor, because I didn't know where anything was and I rarely saw anyone do anything interesting. Once I found some friends, though, things got a lot more fun. All the things Freya said sound great, but I also think that newbs need, maybe not a clique, but some sort of thing to get them started and feeling accepted for their experience (or lack of it) and all that.

Daragh takes the letter from the bird's foot. He unrolls it, but not before wiping his hands on a rag, scans over it, then goes over and hands it to Beneton. "Do we need to make another classroom, Ben?" He sighs, glancing over at a pile of stone and wood and at his usually soft, rarely worked hands.

Daragh smiles happily, pushing a jar of clay back into place on its shelf in his classroom. He turns around to gaze upon the freshly renovated room, grinning wide, his hands on his hips, leaving spots on his palms where there was still-wet paint on his tunic. He imagines scores of people in the room, all desiring to carry on the trade that he's so passionate about. As he thinks about the future, a pot of paint is rattled off its shelf as Adrian walks past with a roll of bandages. The pot of paint crashes on his head, staining his head and shoulders a bright pink. He stands silent for a second in suprise, and then bursts out in laughter.

A notice can be found on noticeboards in all human kingdoms. It reads: I am looking to purchase dyes. Dyes that might be used on human hair or skin. If you have such an item and are willing to part with it for no more than 60 minas, please add a note to this and I shall arrange for us to meet. It has no signature or any defining features about it, however the hand is simple and neat, and a small ink drop is near the edge of the paper.

Annabelle continues being free. She would regret the things she's been accused of, had she done them. She is incredibly angry, however. She was going to make Herendul the greatest kingdom that ever was or will be. Oh well.

Annabelle Winter falls to her knees in the street after reading the notice over three times. She feigns tears, whimpering loudly, attempting to draw the attention of any nearby. "Lies! Lies lies lies! I'd never..never do such...unholy, awful things! I don't want to die!" She continues bawling her eyes out, looking pitiful. Satisfied with her performance, she stands, face buried in her hands, and heads to a hollowed tree stump in an alleyway. She pulls out a cloak and slips it on, on her way out of the kingdom. She has many things on her mind, but on the top of it, is revenge.
